@@marksapplianceThis is a great washer with the best wash action on a traditional washer today. Got this the day after Thanksgiving 2023. The Whirlpool CAE2795FQ is another good commercial washer that is a little more basic but same good wash action.
We have about 3 year old maytag that's commercial washer as well and love it only issue is that it doesn't hold the water. For example if you want to fill it up with water and let the clothes stay soaked for couple of hours even if you disconnect the power outlet it starts to drain the water. Do you happen to know if this one will do the same thing? thank you.
I worked for MAYTAG in 93 in NYC directly Their LAT series at least had water their 24/25 belts lasted 15 years ( pump and trans) Even if the pump sucked a sock in, needle nose would do the trick Such far superior products in every category compared to todays junk If you’ve never done a potato pulley on a washer ( frigidaire) then you’ll never appreciate how our appliances were manufactured thanks for making the video. It was pretty good.
My Mother had a Maytag for almost 40 years. She used it practically every day. The transmission started to go, and made a very loud noise. She replaced it in 1998 with a new Maytag. That machine lasted until a couple of years ago. Now that Whirlpool owns Maytag, they have now decided not to continue to provide parts for the old machines that were made in Iowa back when Maytag was it's own company. Her Maytag bought in 1998 was replaced with a new HE Whirlpool branded Maytag a couple of years ago. I hate the machine. Not enough water and the clothes do not circulate like they do in your machine you show here. The new machine only works the best on the power wash cycle. All the other cycles produce laundry that is all twisted together at the end of the cycle, and the clothing is extremely wrinkled when you go put it in the dryer. You also have to soak your white garments for days to get the soil out of the clothing because the machine has a poor roll on agitation. A real piece of junk. I would have bought a Speed Queen had I known how poor the wash was or would have considered purchasing the machine you have here in this video.
@@marksappliance Drew, for the 1st 10 loads I have done I watched 6 complete cycle's just standing there in awe, this washer is a beast. Thanks for the support.
No kidding. My first-generation model of this just dumped water and transmission fluid all over the floor and repair would be half the original cost, with no guarantee it would solve the problem, or for how long. Just ordered a Speed Queen TC5.
Thanks for this review, made up my mind to get one of these. I have a special needs son and needless to say we needed a powerful washer. These new "high efficiency" washers don't even fill the drum part of the way. We have been running 3 to 4 cycles for 1 load of laundry on a washer we just got a year ago. I think we will be super happy with this washer's ability to fill up the drum all the way. thanks again for the review, it helped a lot.
Thanks for the detailed review. Just note that this washer can ONLY use cold water for the rinse cycle. The temperature selector is only for the temperature of the water used in the WASH cycle, not the RINSE cycle. The Speed Queen TR7 is the only Speed Queen washer that allows the user to select warm water for the rinse. And only one other top-loading washer (a Samsung) can use warm water for the RINSE cycle.
I have a 20 year old Fisher/Paykel still going strong, but I'm always looking for a backup when they go to washer heaven.. I'm torn between the TC5 or the Maytag. Thank you for an informative video....
I was told by the Maytag service to use fabric softener as it will keep the pressure tube sensor from getting clogged. I was getting low water levels even on the highest setting and was told the detergent bubbles were clogging it. Does this make sense? Do you have a better solution?
If anything is going to clog your machine, it's fabric softener, especially if you don't use an extra rinse. Bad detergents like Tide and Gain can, too, but fabric softener can be a culprit for clogging drain pumps. Not sure why Maytag service would say that.
Are you sure you didn't mishear him say NOT to use fabric softener because it could clog the pipes? That would make more sense. Fabric softener, or even too much detergent, is very cloggy.
No, this isn’t the design of the machine. The water level switch is kind of useless low water is barely above. The blades medium is a little bit more and high water level is what medium used to be on the older machines using fabric softener has absolutely nothing to do with the water level that’s been preset from the factory. If you’re interested in more, there are videos of this machine by “Agiflow” on this machine and many of his others. He has made many videos on the issues with this washer .
@@marksapplianceI never heard fabric softener clloq the pump. I had a Westinghouse front load for 26 years, never had the pump clog. I had to replace it,after the Beringer were out I have Fridgaire front load 15 years, use fabric softener all this time ,no problems.
Drew, do they come in any other colors? Everything today is just white only it seems. My Maytag from 1983 is Almond colored and it still works perfect so I don't need a new one but I was looking at maybe changing the clothes dryer but it is Almond too and I don't want white. Can you do videos on the dryer equivalents to these Maytag, Speed Queen, GE old school products? I am looking for Electric with right side discharge, I would like Harvest Gold or Avocado, but I think that is going to be impossible. Now how could I paint a new Dryer Almond? What paint would I use? I would buy a complete new set if Maytag or Speed Queen came in Harvest Gold or yellow but until that happens, I will just stick with my old Almond Maytag which still looks like new. Thanks if you do a video on the dryers.
I have this set. It's a good machine. Cleans well. Cycles are fast. No nonsense. The annoyances....the lid lock and the fact that the warm or hot temperature setting cycles between the hot and cold INSTEAD of just opening both the cold and hot valve at the same time. This on and off with the cold and then the hot and then the cold water over and over again rattles my pipes that you can hear through the whole house. My old 1980s Maytag filled by opening both valves at the same time. I miss that. I also miss the brake to stop the spin cycle. Now you have to wait for the drum to come to a full stop before the lid unlocks. I also miss the water continuing to fill while the lid is open. It stops. Other than these annoyances it's a good machine.
That Maytag looks to work beautifully, and the rollover is wonderful. Pretty good for a new age machine. I'm somewhat sure, but not totally, would I be able to add more agitation time like you can with a mechanical timer? You know that sometimes you just feel that you want a longer agitation added for that extra clean feeling.
I had the previous version of this in my last house. Had to leave it as the new owner asked specifically for it in the contract. It was truly amazing. The house I bought had an old school high water level but now it’s dying so time to decide this or the tc5. I have 3 goldens and sometimes puppies so I wash every single day. Now I have to decide.
The problem with any of these new washers (minus the speed Queen) is that a lot of the internal gears are made out of plastic. I can't see those lasting very long. From what I've heard, it's cheaper to just buy a new washer instead of getting these new washers fixed. That's one of the reasons why speed Queen is touted for lasting at least 25 years, it is worth getting them serviced.
Yes. Especially in the small appliances. I noticed irons had no turn off button--rarely used I know, but most people still have one--the rationalization was that ironing boards if the 1950s don't stay open all day now. So all the brands on amazeen same ..I bought some, sunbeamer. Procter-silex, Rowentee, Black & Deckee...they all were same plastic inside. Same hoes fir all the best top-line sewing machines for about 25 years... Tools. Drills, saws. Sanders. Fir about 2 years now. They all burn out/melt out fast--save your 30 year old corded drill guys.
I can attest, the first time the plastic teeth under the agitator broke was two years in, and now after the warranty went out a few weeks ago, they messed up again and I’m out after only 3 years.
i have a silly question. i received the MVWP586GW washer. I noticed a thin clear film started to bubble up on the black control panel, but somehow it did not look like this clear plastic film was supposed to come off. The service technician said it was meant to be removed, leaving a matte (not shiny) finish to the steel control panel with no protection of the painted steel. Is he right? The film had holes for the knobs and screws which makes me think it wasn't meant to be removed.
The MVWP576 is a box store model with only a 1-year warranty on it, while the MVWP586 is independent retail exclusive model with a 5-year ultimate warranty model. It gets confusing because they both look the exact same but built differently!
Have one. Had to power cycle it as it was barely filling on a deep fill setting. Wondering if there is updated firmware for these that can be installed in service
Hey David! So the box stores sell an identical looking MVWP576 model that is just a 1-year warranty model. The 586 is an independent retail exclusive that Home Depot and Lowe's do not have access to sell. You're probably looking at the 576 if it's on Home Depot's site. I can't say it's my favorite, as the TC5 is obviously a great unit. I haven't done the full review of the GTW525 yet, but I love that washer as well. My dad has that unit in 3 rental homes and has had no issues on either for 3 years so far. I think if you're looking for commercial quality that doesn't cost over $1,300 like the TC5, the MVWP586 is the choice for me. I just like the dual-action agitator
Sorry, the box store model is the MVWP585. This is the model on Lowe's & Home Depot sites. It's a 1-year warranty model that looks identical to the MVWP586. It's a turd.
Hello Mark, we just purchased this model 586 yesterday and absolutely love it. Only thing I’m worried about is that it makes a bit of a rubbing or soft grinding sound. Would that be the belt rubbing? Please help 😢
although my Whirlpool 4816FW2 works great, I have my eyes on this model to replace it with. I like the fact you can manually control the water level and that it seems to be an aggressive agitate
Buyer beware. My so-called beast, the earlier version of this model, just crapped out. And reviews of this model are a meager 3-stars (out of 5) on Home Depot's website. The suspension rods are $450 special order.
I have the first generation of this washer MVWP575GW it’s a great machine. It doesn’t have near the options as the new generation but the agitation is awesome and it doesn’t take 2 hours to wash a load and the clothes are clean plus it has a 5 year warranty if ordered directly from Maytag. Big box stores do not sell the actual Maytag Commercial Washer. It must be ordered through Maytag directly and compare the model numbers to make sure it’s the true Commercial Washer. Thank you for your great video. You did fantastic.
I have the same first generation one you do, shipped from Desgner's Appliance in New York to Southern California. It came with a 10-year warranty, the last 5 on the motor only, with no labor. The tub is suspended on struts, and after it flooded the floor wuth brown water, the technician said the brown stain was transmission fluid and could not guarantee that new struts for $450 would solve the leaking problem, and if it did it would only be temporary. There is no way to add more transmission fluid. He explained suspending the tub was required after 2007 (iirc) because some had been injured when moving machines with tubs bolted to the floor. So that's who we have to thank for water going all over the floor through these cheap rods/struts. Rather than throw good money away, I just ordered a Speed Queen TC5.
I'm trying to diagnose a problem on this. When the lid locks for final spin cycle is it supposed to stay on? This one blinks on for a second but doesn't stay on
If it steadily blinks, you will most likely get an extra rinse you did not set it for. If when you first turned the washer on, all the lights went off for a few seconds and only the "soak/wash" light came on after, you will get low level water only and an extra rinse you didn't ask for. There is a software update for the computer board but since there is no wi-fi on the machine, the tech is replacing a new board with the updated software. I have uploaded some videos on my channel to show this fault.
Hello, just got this model from Home Depot. Question, does the machine operate when the lid is open or does it stop completely? I know the lid locks for high spin. But was under the impression it works like an old-school washer. Thanks in advance.
Just a heads up if anyone has the MVWP586GW or thinking of buying one. Mine was delivered October 2023. After 9 months of it not working properly, finally on November 2024 contol board, with UPDATED software and water level switch was replaced. A few months before, the actuator was replaced. This washer is now working better than when it was delivered.
You can add items, but it stops cold and the resumes once the lid is closed again. The lid lock only engages during the spin cycle. Don't leave the lid up for very long though. Otherwise it will reset and drain and you will have to start over wasting any detergent you used.
i have two of these units purchased months apart and in different locations. Neither unit performs as promised regarding deep fill. The deep fill in both machines only fills to 75% of the tub. The next lower level filled to about 50%. The instruction manual, the pictures on the underside of the lid and some videos show the deep fill filling up the tub all the way. In the video you say it fills 95%. In the case of the first machine the repair man replaced the water sensor and computer board and the inlet. No difference. Second machine is same as the first. Anyone else experience this. Is there a solution?
No solution. You are correct with the lid images. They are way off. But I hooked a water meter to see the gallonage on each cycle and according to the manual, they were correct. But the manual also states "The Deep Water is recommended for extra-large loads, approximately full capacity with a water level of 24 gallons" "The High setting is recommended for large loads, approximately 3/4 capacity with a water level of 18 gallons." 18 gallons does NOT make the high level give 3/4, it's more like 1/2 in my model.
The people that push them hard are being paid my speedQ. They are not worth $1500 for a basic washer. Everything breaks. Get the best but something affordable
Yes, that's a high-efficiency unit. It's designed to use less water so takes longer to wash. The smaller-tub, commercial-grade top-loads like this Maytag are old-school and made to clean
I call them "Obama washers" cause his admin ushered in all that "water savings" . Those machines don't work and have long forever cycles. Some water savings when you have to rerun the wash cycle two or three times just to get clean clothes! I have 1983 Maytag that looks are works perfect! Things were well made in the past and also worked!
@@groovy1937 Well, tRump didn't do away with it, did he? There are regions in America where water is really scarce. Wake up and keep politics out of this.
@@ronalddevine9587 No, you wake up! Your a sensitive kitty. I was just speaking the truth. Obama put those restrictions in place and they suck. The wash machines don't work well at cleaning clothes. I didn't bring any politics into this, Obummer did by putting stupid water restrictions on appliance and shower heads in place. Sorry, there is plenty of water, the earth is full of water and I will use as much as I want! Another policy failure.
If money is no object, then I’d probably go with the TC5. Both are great machines though. Just make sure wherever you buy from, the store has their own service department and can do their own warranty work. Talking to the manufacturers if there’s an issue can be a pain so it’s best to have the support of a local business who can do that type of thing on your behalf.
So I have a question. I have a speed Queen tr7 and well most of us know that that model doesn't really clean well. It was even in consumer reports so I'm looking into getting a new washer dryer. How well would this Maytag handle a comforter say king size? Because I have a king size bed, my speed Queen can handle it pretty well but then again the TR7 is less aggressive on its washing capability. So I wanted to ask how well would that Maytag handle say a king size comforter
That looks like is has the four corner spring loaded rods that aid in stabilizing the wash tub during the spin cycle. I’ve heard those rods are a problem area in that they will fail and will require service - and the replacements will fail… One UA-cam video about this says those spring loaded rods last 3 to 5 years on average. Do you find this true in your service department?
The Maytag has a nice wash action for a modern machine, but the components are subpar. Nylon is used all throughout the gearing system and is prone to stripping (look at reviews and teardown to see). The suspension, or lack thereof, also sucks. The TC5 is the way to go, but that's machine's mechanical pump, while durable, is known to cause foaming in the final spin for all but the most moderate amount of soap use. Draining into a sink is ideal for that machine. Unfortunately, the best classic-action machine you can buy is a reconditioned 70-90 series Kenmore/Whirlpool.
The parts you're referring to in the Maytag are true for the entry-level, non-commercial-grade units, especially their suspensions. The suspension, bracing, and galvanized casing on this MVWP586 is not nearly the same as the lower-level units, plus it has a snubber if it gets out of balance. The TC5 suspension system is also great though. As far as the nylon gears, these are much more durable that the plastic gears you are referring to that are in most lower-level machines. The parts in this commercial-grade unit are much different than the MVW5035 or 7230 machines, for example.
@@sinister184it is a lot! Especially since they make a model called the MVWP585 that looks the exact same and only has the 1-year warranty. It’s a big box store exclusive model and is junk!
Have you ever torn apart one of these mvwp units? They have the same plastic gears as EVERY other whirlpool vmw. Also where this snubber at ? Only the old milk stool style machines had snubbers. in the hundreds of these I have torn apart, Never seen one.
Just found your channel. Learned so much! Can you wash a comforter in this size Maytag or TC5 Speed Queen? Need a new washer that works properly for more than 4 years. Looks good! Want to go back to agitator washer. My old 2017 Kenmore impeller washer has low water level issues and ineffective spin rinse cycle for years now.
I've washed a queen-sized comforter in the TC5, and it worked great. I haven't tried a king-size, but I have seen videos of people doing it. Yeah a 2017 Kenmore may be Samsung built. Either a TC5 or this Maytag would be good for you
I had the previous version of this commercial Maytag and after 2 years of multiple service visits/repairs, Maytag finally replaced it with this new model. This model is making me crazy... when set on deep water, it randomly fills with only 3-4 inches of water. There seems to be no rhyme or reason, it just does what it wants. I don't have time to stand there for every load and make sure it fills correctly. When it doesn't, I have to cancel the load, which means more time and loss of more detergent :( I'm calling Maytag tomorrow!
@brianmckay1659 Thank you Brian, I did figure this out prior to seeing your response, and although it's still incredibly aggravating, at least I have a fix to the stupid computer on this machine.
Time can be a more precious resource than power or water. The shorter cycles are like what I was used to in older machines. No STUPID pauses or abnormally long fill cycles. YOU DON’T GET WASTED TIME BACK! So many new washers and dishwashers waste too much time.
what no one is mentioning is that speed Queen is the only washer that has straight hot when it's not on normal. All the other junk machines you can't get a straight hot load, also speed queen has a reliable belt you can change whirlpool has plastic gears that you have to fuss with when they go out
This is why I chose a speed queen front loader. On the whites cycle it will give you a true hot water wash. I don’t care about saving when I’m doing laundry. Sheets, towels, & cleaning rags/mops. Always a HOT wash.
Of the four Speed Queen top loading models, only the TR7 has an option to RINSE in warm water. All other Speed Queens, and all other brands except one Samsung top loader, ONLY use cold water for the rinse cycle. But the TR7 uses the weaker "Perfect Wash", which only moves water through clothes. The TC5 uses the more aggressive (and better cleaning) "Classic Wash", where the agitator that moves clothes through the water. And the TC5 lets you fill up 100% of the tub with water, not just 75% max on the TR models. Again, more water means more detergent dissolving, more water to carry dirt and soap scum away, more water to clean your clothes.
This one does have straight hot and doesn't override unless you are silly enough to put it on eco mode. I tested it and assure you that its straight hot. not tempered.
After looking at that cheap plastic tub, it is clear that this washer is nothing near commercial quality. Speed Queen has you beat on so many levels. It makes me sad to say this as I have always respected Whirlpool products and still do to this day. But passing a cheap plastic design as "commercial" grade is a total ruse. Let's hope they can figure it out.
My Samsung super speed high efficiency is total crap. Most companies have adopted the Chinese “quality “ control system. . . Looks like I’ll be buying a Speed Queen. Cha Ching, cha Ching, Ugh!! By the way, thank you for this review.
But this has suspension rods and not old school springs like the Speed Queen. I can't see that this will be as durable with suspension rods!! How can Maytag make a 10 yr commercial washer with suspension rods?????? Junk!!!!! Who ever designed suspension rods knew they would make the manufacturers lots of money! How can you even consider this machine as commercial????
What is call commercial today is what we got in the 90's and 2000's without the build quality. They should just build the old machine and be done with it. I would not rate anything commercial with a hanging tub.
this machine has a 1 1/2 HP motor, not 1/2....I've had this machine for 5 years and it has performed flawlessly and quickly. None of the long pauses and sensing nonsense of other top loaders. Quickly goes from one cycle to the next completing the job in 30-35 minutes with truly clean clothing coming out every time. Agitator is not rough on clothing. Buy one while you can before the powers that be say "no more"!! Cheers
Why would you not recommend using the Eco mode, doesn't the government know better than us how we should wash our clothes? Surely the govt knows that we don't need actual water to get clothes clean. I rest my case.
Federick is just a literally unlucky for selling maytag to whirlpool if he didnt sell it to whirlpool maytag might be more famous than whirlpool and maytag might be better than alliance laundry system brand even speed queen remember when maytag invented gas powered washing machine😔😔😔
This video just advertising and this washer just junk. Stay away from this one! I got MVWP575GW and 2.5 years of 5 years warranty was heaven, but the rest 2.5 years was hell. Many times serviced, 1st - at Covid, 2 months I was waiting for the part, OMG! Replaced mainboard, actuator, agitator, Washer Basket Drive Hub, transmission may be something else, just don't remember. Now it's broken again and I hate it with whole my soul! Looking for Speed Queen, why I didn't bought it for the first time, why I got Maytag because "it's the same quality but cheaper"? (not the same). Don't repeat my mistake, stay away from Maytag "commercial" washer because it's total pain in the ass, not real commercial unit, bad transmission - even axle rusty, hard to put on plastic Washer Basket Drive Hub.
Same here. I bought the MVWP575GW in 2018 after ordering, then immediately canceling, the Speed Queen after seeing warnings the new SQ was crap. Liked it at first, though it was inferior in all respects to the amazing Maytag A216 (?) the best washer ever made, that lasted over 30 years. The Maytag Commercial required a repair last year, just turned 6 and dumped brown water all over the laundry floor. The technician said the brown was transmission fluid, and he couldn't guarantee that new struts for $450 would solve the problem. So I just ordered a new Speed Queen TC5. And btw the above Maytag he claims is superior has only 3 star average customer review at Home Depot.
Dear Mark: Maybe take another cup of coffee before you do a demo as your energy needs picking up. Almost thought i would fall asleep while you were talking.
Why you sale still this waterwasing, low efficient and oldfashion top loaders? a frontloader is much better for remove heavy soiled laundry, use less water and spins much better.....

The Powerwash cycle on this Maytag would add more time to the agitation cycle! That is a possibility with this unit.
If it has soil level options that controls agitate time
I had the previous version of this in my last house. Had to leave it as the new owner asked specifically for it in the contract. It was truly amazing. The house I bought had an old school high water level but now it’s dying so time to decide this or the tc5. I have 3 goldens and sometimes puppies so I wash every single day. Now I have to decide.
Tc5 easy choice
Are you implying that this Maytag washer also uses plastic internal gears?
@@KirkAmosofc its whirlpool market strategy put an commercial word in their plastic apliances and making a placebo effect
You can see the mat finish at 2:16.
LOVE YOUR VIDS! which machine is better? MVWP576KW1 vs MVWP585GW
@Mark’s Appliances Is the insert on the commercial Maytag dryer (MEDP586KW) door made of glass or acrylic?
It is made of acrylic
This is how traditional agitator washers worked for the last 75 years

Drews Reviews! hey drew, why are the reviews so low at home depot for the 586? is this still your fav home machine over tc5 and GTW525?
Could the Maytag handle a queen size comforter?
Hello Mark, we just purchased this model 586 yesterday and absolutely love it. Only thing I’m worried about is that it makes a bit of a rubbing or soft grinding sound. Would that be the belt rubbing? Please help 😢
although my Whirlpool 4816FW2 works great, I have my eyes on this model to replace it with. I like the fact you can manually control the water level and that it seems to be an aggressive agitate
yes, water level control is a big selling point for me as well
Buyer beware.
Any dealer can order the Maytag Commercial. Got the best price locally through a small 'mom and pop' store who is a Maytag dealer.
@@citybright8925does the speedQ TC5 clean as good as the Maytag commercial?
how do you take off the fabric softner thing so I can clean it. After will not u se again. thanks
It stops when the lid is open.
Speed Queen TC5 for me.
Can you lift the lid of the Maytag at any point to add a sock? Or is there a lid lock?
But the manual also states
"The Deep Water is recommended for extra-large loads, approximately full capacity with a water level of 24 gallons"
"The High setting is recommended for large loads, approximately 3/4 capacity with a water level of 18 gallons."
18 gallons does NOT make the high level give 3/4, it's more like 1/2 in my model.
Hey Mark, I just ordered this machine and I am wondering how I can bypass the lid lock? Any suggestions?
my tc5 only came with a three year parts and labor! broke twice once under warranty the just after the three hears broke again.
The people that push them hard are being paid my speedQ. They are not worth $1500 for a basic washer. Everything breaks. Get the best but something affordable
So whatever temperature you set it on, that's the temperature for both wash and rinse. No combo, such as hot wash, then cold rinse?
Does this unit have the metal hub, or the normal plastic hub assembly like all regular whirlpools?
Usually the stainless basket gets the plastic hub but some have metal hub. The porcelain baskets are all metal.
Parts breakdown for its twin (mvwp575) shows plastic hub
Thank you for the reply. @@michaelchilders2012
We have an LG top load and I find it useless. Takes forever, doesn't wash that clean. This machine looks like a Kenmore we bought back in early 90s.

Well, tRump didn't do away with it, did he? There are regions in America where water is really scarce. Wake up and keep politics out of this.
@@ronalddevine9587 No, you wake up! Your a sensitive kitty. I was just speaking the truth. Obama put those restrictions in place and they suck. The wash machines don't work well at cleaning clothes. You can not. The Maytag does have a lid lock.

@@venuswarrior8456 Can't go wrong with Speed Queen TC5
Do you sell the speed queen?
I need an honest opinion, should I get this or the SQ TC5?
Whirlpool recommends against comforters in any of their top load washers
That would include Maytag
I would recommend getting a front loader. They are also more reliable
You can use Vinegar for a fabric softener and it will not mess up your machine.
The parts in this commercial-grade unit are much different than the MVW5035 or 7230 machines, for example.
but yes, LAT model whirlpools and Kenmore like you said are the best, easy to work on machines.
@@marksappliance Good to know if that’s the case. I’d love to see a tear down 😉. I can’t keep up with all Maytags similar offerings it seems.
Either a TC5 or this Maytag would be good for you
I own the speed queen and love it
No one delivers Speedqueen in my area, unless they have a huge upcharge.
Also, maytag does a first responder discount.
I don't see the fix Brian told you. Please share.
Time can be a more precious resource than power or water. The shorter cycles are like what I was used to in older machines. No STUPID pauses or abnormally long fill cycles. YOU DON’T GET WASTED TIME BACK! So many new washers and dishwashers waste too much time.
The suspension looks weak, can’t compare it with the Speed Queen
Reliability wise:
Speed Queen: 🔝👍
Maytag ⬇️👎
Most people will agree because it’s true.
what no one is mentioning is that speed Queen is the only washer that has straight hot when it's not on normal.
Have u been working out 😎
After looking at that cheap plastic tub, it is clear that this washer is nothing near commercial quality. Speed Queen has you beat on so many levels. It makes me sad to say this as I have always respected Whirlpool products and still do to this day. But passing a cheap plastic design as "commercial" grade is a total ruse. Let's hope they can figure it out.
Do you prefer the Maytag or GE?
You better get a speed queen.😂

What is call commercial today is what we got in the 90's and 2000's without the build quality. They should just build the old machine and be done with it. I would not rate anything commercial with a hanging tub.

this machine has a 1 1/2 HP motor, not 1/2....I've had this machine for 5 years and it has performed flawlessly and quickly. None of the long pauses and sensing nonsense of other top loaders. Quickly goes from one cycle to the next completing the job in 30-35 minutes with truly clean clothing coming out every time. Agitator is not rough on clothing. Maytag's own website and all its advertisements say it has a 1/2 hp motor.

Why would you not recommend using the Eco mode, doesn't the government know better than us how we should wash our clothes? Surely the govt knows that we don't need actual water to get clothes clean. I rest my case.
This is definitely NOT a Speed Queen. Look at the crappy hanging suspension. It might do as a cheaper substitute.

Has the same garbage parts as all the other big box brands. Total junk. I 've been burned too many times. Never again. Go Speed Queen or go home.
