@@ThiokuSebastian I have the MHW8630HC, it’s the top of the line front load model for Maytag and I love it. If you have a hard time finding the 8630 you can go for the MHW6630HC, it’s basically the same machine with just a few less options, but costs a bit less and is easier to obtain. @One-Day-After-Another 100% agree there. The heater and recirc are two super important features for a front loader, and IMO it really makes the Maytag worth it
From all the research I've done and what I've personal heard myself from an appliance technician, there is no competition for the speed queen brand. We just bought the speed queen FF7009BN front loader and we are hoping it will show us why their brand is so praised. That being said, the first day we use it, it has minor leakage in two areas, the detergent drawer and the bottom of the tub door. They said they will likely have to send a replacement unit, because that's what they had to do last time, you can't fix it on the spot. Not the best introduction to the brand, but if the replacement does well, I will be at ease. If the replacement fails us, I will surely be pissed off.
@@AVMAR No, we got tired of all the waiting and empty promises and just went back to the normal market and bought a nice and well respected LG front loader at costco. The sales guy in charge of our order tried telling us that the speedqueen rep told them we may have to raise up the front of the machine a little bit to fix the leakage issue. I called BS on that and said we are not responsible and will need another washer. They failed to deliver the replacement on agreed and confirmed day so we said kick rocks, full return and bad review. We do not believe speedqueen is necessary. It's a little bit better in some areas for double or triple the money and their repair rates are higher than LG for washers. We won't talk about fridges. We don't run a business so we have no concern for "commercial level" appliances. LG is highly recommended for front load washers and statistically has the best repair rates, so we will stick with that. At the end of the day, all we need is a washer that will not give us major issues within say 10 years. We need it to wash well and then that's it. Yale appliances also holds this viewpoint as they don't see any significant reason to recommend a speedqueen over other great front loaders. As for top loaders, I would avoid all of them unless it was a speedqueen, that market they seem to actually make sense. But for front loaders? I wouldn't think about a speedqueen ever again.
From my experience SQ’s warranty isn’t that great.. on both of my machines they sent someone out once a month to install one part to try and fix it, which left me without a working washer for almost 5 months at a time The “warranty” is also just a 3rd party insurance policy SQ uses. So they have to inquire to pay for parts and such, which slows down the process. It’s really the same as just buying the warranty package at extra cost for a different brand because SQ just adds to the price of their machines to pay for the warranty.
