@Charlene Robertson I think whilst we all hope that if we found ourselves in her shoes we'd do something, a lot of victims of abuse (which it was alleged she also received from him) will simply shut off and be compliant to avoid further abuse. She definitely could have -done- more but the blame for what happened to these kids ultimately rests with the abuser.

I can understand it but when your beat down for a long time your mind finds ways to deal with trauma most of us don’t ever experiance - one of which is denial and finding other reasons for things she sees going on rather than face additional trauma - she hadn’t been in her right mind for years and grama knew this for years and didn’t do shit either. She knew the baby was molested at 6 months and her kid was being beat severely but never stepped in to take control of the situation for years until she decided To go on a fucjing tv show instead. She’s the one who let it go on snd enabled the monster to continue abusing both mom and child.... it’s so sad to see how every one was failing that child. @YoungOasis that could be it too. Sometimes, we get angry at people for not taking action for certain things. Even I do it alot. And majority of the time, we don't take a second to try to put ourselves in that person's perspective or understand there emotional. I every now and then watch this again. The more I watch it, the more I can feel her emotions.(and yes I still get very pissed off at the dad more and more as I watch it). While yes this was a situation that should have been resolved sooner and that this mother should have been more protective and take more action for her daughter, I Know that not everyone is the same as others. I'm glad that the grandmother helped the mom take action. Hopefully in the future, if this situation happens again (which I pray to the gods that it doesn't!!) the mother will Know what to do.

It is, but in this case, the molestation happened inside their home and the mother could have prevented it. Maybe not the very first time, but all other times the father abused his own daughter, the mother did nothing to prevent it for four years! Also the grand mother did nothing for four years! She could have taken the little girl to a doctor herself and then called police and child protective services. Why did she wait 4 years to act? That is way too long. Pedophiles always get their way because of people like this that think they are good and nice people only because they can appear to be that on the surface.
As a mum, this woman should not be bringing another child into the world with this man! Ridiculous woman.

@@aislinlindsay3950 They should at least get therapy or get court mandated counseling so they understand this behavior is NOT okay and concerning. Which red flags to avoid and how to leave or make police reports when this happens.

I don't understand. There are lots of people in this world that can't have kids because of a medical issue or infertile or something. Then you have people who actually CAN have kids that are just horrible parents and are pieces of shit like this Dad in this episode. It's crazy how blessings go to the wrong people. I have a son on the way and if I ever found out someone was doing something to him, they would be dead and buried out in the woods.
5:25 I don’t like how he advices people sometimes. Specifically women. He has to be considerate about the persons trauma. When you’re in a situation like this it is very traumatic to act accordingly. It is never the victims fault. My daughter outed her father at age 11...I forbid him.from seeing our three children. After a judge ordered they spend the summer with him in another State, We went into hiding and didn't return until the youngest was 18. He still hasn't seen them and the 11 yr old is now 48.
I then went to earn my degree Paralegal.
I would've spent time in jail without revealing their location knowing they were safe.
