    Getting ready to head to MEPS, shooting for 89D as a 28 yr old Female, mother of 5, and a wife. Come from a long family line of Military (multiple branches, husband former SF). Kinda nervous about going in at such a late age, but look forward to doing my part in serving our Country. Took practice asvab, scored high, enough that recruiter handed me a list and said to start thinking about what I would like to do in the Army. I study countless hours, I run, I work out, and Im as ready as ever to embark on this journey and new chapter in mine and my families lives. Thank you both for your service, and I hope to live up to the standard. God Bless.

    I met an EOD officer online in 2014. He was deployed in Afghanistan. His name was David Lawson. The last time I heard from him was March 2015. He disappeared and I never heard from him again. I was heart broken because I had no idea what happened to him and no way of finding out. I am wondering if Officer Jeff Dawson ever met him in Afghanistan? David Lawson was from Atlanta Georgia.

  • @chrisfarrell9131
    @chrisfarrell9131 Рік тому

    Correct me if I'm wrong buy the navy has the only SOF special operations EOD which is under the NAVSOC Umbrella. Also what do you think about civilian bomb squad law enforcement division etc. Are most officers former military eod? What about the type of training received military vs law enforcement which is better? What about avarage deaths in eod field and law enforcement bomb squad. Are basic eod skills taught to sof units?

    This question is a bit late, but I’ll ask anyways. Is there a specific reason the 28th primarily supports the 75th Ranger Regt. and not the SF Groups?
    It would seem ideal to have EOD techs with all that additional tactical training to also be attached to ODA’s.

      @@hannibalbarca2939 No, he’s right. At the height of Iraq and Afghanistan, EOD techs from the Navy were helping ODAs mostly. Navy EOD techs not only have a hard physical pipeline (pre-dive, dive school, etc.), but they get airborne qualified and take courses in tactical shooting. They’re out of the gate more elite.
