Percussion by Jodie Linscott, she is/was a regular session player for most major artists in the 70’s and 80’s. She is still a member of the marvelous Kokomo who are still gigging in 2023.
this performance took place 30 years ago! how does it remain fresh...? I don't know. but the Robert Palmer magic obviously ENDURES. and yes, I still miss him
I was there! i am the boy in the red anorak and black hair at 5.24 on the right with my friend sara lee in front of me in black with blonde hair in front of me! . I was a permanent audience member of the Tube for the whole of this season. Fun times... Thanks for posting
We saw Robert twice, the first time at the Southampton Gaumont theatre, now the Mayflower, promoting ‘Pride’, the price was reasonable and for any seat. We didn’t know exactly what to expect and he was outstanding; he did a three song medley before even saying hello, and when he idi it was just something short like, ‘Hello, good evening, great to be here’ and then straight on with the show. Hardly any stopping, just one song after another with more medleys! What a performance- great value, excellent artist. RIP Robert.
in 1988 I was able to take in this cool guy with Diane his lady singer in Arizona and what a performance that was!!! He is a True Gentleman and a great performer. I will never forget that Concert.
No.. Not Much ;) I don't want my arms around you, no not much I don't bless the day I found you, no not much I don't need you like the stars don't need the sky I won't love you longer than the day I die You don't please me when you squeeze me, no not much My heads the lightest from your very slightest touch Baby, if you ever go could I take it maybe so Oh but would I like it, no not much Like the song I'm singing doesn't mean a rhyme, I don't want you near me only all time You don't thrill me when you hold me, no not much My heads the lightest from your very slightest touch. Baby if you ever go could I take it maybe so Oh but would I like it, no not much No not much

It’s fresh for the same reason that Satchmo, Billie Holiday, and Count Basie remain so. Quality.
Thirty years ago?!! So fresh.
I found him and his music fascinating...dang was so upset to find out he died so early!!!!!
So talented in every way, Robert Palmer was amazing live and in studio recordings. True artist, missed so much by so many. I am one of them.
Lovely, quirky Paula and the very cool, talented Mr Palmer. How sad they are both gone far too soon.
