My mama had an early 80s Olds wagon, same body style. Light metallic blue color. Same wire spoke hubcaps. We had that car right many years. My brother and I grew up in it. I remember driving it after I got my driver's license. I was the younger brother btw. That car hauled our friends, cousins, football teammates, classmates on fieldtrips, you name it. lol!
My dad had a few of these box wagons. Some of us still .ove station wagons, I own 2 magnum wagons right now. This car is a beauty, I almost died in a 90 caprice Brougham in 2005. I love the sedan version of these. Glad you are selling rear world cars
It’s hard to believe it’s got 89K miles. It’s so clean, esp. the engine bay. I had a smaller Chevy wagon I bought new in 1985, a Celebrity with that rear-facing back seat. My kids loved that car…to death! I really enjoyed driving it but it died with 125K miles.
My first car was a 1978 Chevy Impala 4 door in that sort of metallic pine green color. Green interior. AM radio, police car hubcaps because Dad was cheap! I wish I still had it, but that was so many years ago. The interior really didn't change much for over a decade! Same steering wheel, most of the dash, the radio cluster.. all the same. Mine had a single manual mirror and the same 305 small block motor. Super reliable and very very comfortable on the highway. Handled like a waterbed. Didn't care! With the Clarion radio upgrade, it was a favorite of friends and I to go to the movies on a Saturday! This video brings back some of those fond memories. Thank you!
I remember seeing these full size station wagons loaded w/a family and towing big travel trailers. Now you need a full size heavy duty to tow these trailers nowadays.
The 305 wasn't that good at towing but the same car ordered for towing had a bigger engine, stiffer suspension and I think a tweak to the transmission to. Correct me if I'm wrong on the tranny
I always laugh at the size of modern day “campers” literally nicer and cost darn near as much as my house. How much crap do you really need to camp for a weekend? It’s not you’re traveling for 6 months in Alaska 🤦♂️
I bet it's sold already. Real nice example. The weather stripping is not a bad job and they are all available. Power seat is pretty easy to fix as well. Cheers 🇨🇦
@@novicefinger hahaha 😂 Thank you.. I do appreciate the response. I remember my dad washing his hubcaps in the dishwasher! Also him asking me not to tell mom.
I had an 84. It was cream with the identical interior to this. I wish I had never gotten rid of it. I agree, these just look better than the ones that followed.
The best example of the all American car. The Chevrolet station wagon. Very classic and this one has perfect color combination. Good looking body style too. Cheers 🥂 to brilliance. The station wagons are better than suv.
I had 78 caprice classic wagon for 15 yrs 83 got it..rear facin 3row back mini seat elec bak window.FRONT BENCH SEATS ( MY FAV KIND)..easy 2 work on .now hav 08 hyundai santa fe clutch 16.8 yrs now But wagon bes i ever had
Good eye! It's the first thing I noticed. The gap between the fender and the front of the door is too close, leaving a larger gap between it and the rear door.
@prevost8686 if you broke them in right and you could rely on them. My 85 Delta 88 would run like a striped ass ape. And I could get around 25 MPG if I was under 70 back in the 55 days.

These cars are a “true classic!!” I had the extreme privilege of owning a 1984 model, and I miss that car to this day! What a beauty!
I owned one of these back when my kids were young. Parking it was like mooring the Queen Mary, lol.
When cars were beautiful and full of beautiful details
1985 this Chevy was top of the line. Truly loved automotives. "THE HEARTBEAT OF AMERICA IS TODAY'S CHEVROLET"

Great car I would love to have one.

These cars were bullet-proof.
It's a beauty, John. Your cars are always nice, and reasonably priced.
Thanks! I try!
Mint and timeless.
That nickel plated trim on the dashboard was a good modern update at the time.
New for 85!

nice to see you again Pal, I love the wagons👍 and the sport mirrors and cornering lights
A true classic from yesterday years ❤

I had a 1985 Chevy wagon almost identically equipped. It had the same interior, but was the Estate version with fake wood in and out.

Beautiful wagon ❤️❤️
Great Car John!
Thanks Jeff!
These were everywhere back in the day and nobody wanted them used. You could pick these up all day long for $1500-2000.
Sharp looking car!
Good value.
Didn’t minivans initially end the large wagons? After their popularity ended the sport utility took over
You're not wrong. The SUV was probably more the nail in the coffin.
the best one
Turnkey ignition. Nice.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
How Much
$11,900
I still dont understand the concept of not enjoying the car on the part of the previous owners. Now someone else has it.
I think the minivan killed the station wagon , then SUV's killed the minivan .
I don't disagree. I suppose the SUV was more the nail in the coffin.
GM has had paint problems for decades. They still can’t get white paint on a truck that won’t flake off in huge chunks 😂.
Bullet proof untill paint peals headliner sags dash cracks i60hp in 5,000 lb car. Bullet proof
Something suspect with the driver side front door. Very poor fitment.

Nice rides with a lame 305 v8.
They were a good engine for a family hauler of that era. Decent fuel economy and simple to repair.

@@alangee79010 My in-laws put over 200K on a 305 in a Caprice.
@prevost8686 did it smoke first start of the day? Oil on those 305s would settle on top of the motor after the 100K mark.
