Not so adventurous...next vid is a rugged 10-day wilderness trip. FYI you can only buy the Draumr directly from Amok (anything else is a scam): amok-equipment.com This video isn't a review---reviewing a product after using it for 24 hours isn't much good---just an initial test. So if you want specs and FAQs, Amok has great videos on their hammocks: www.youtube.com/@AmokEquipment
Thanks Brother! Glad to see that our marriage is going good. My life has went to crap after my wife cheated and it just keeps getting worse sadly. Thinking about living in a Amoke lol
Love the videos. My husband and I watched all of them from the beginning. That's how he convinced me we should start camping. We went 3 weeks ago and again this past weekend. I now look forward to the weekend so we can go camping.
Would be great to see a single (or Double) Amok set up from how you select the site, tying it to the trees, setting up the inflatable inserts, getting the rainproof tarp in place Basically something that gives a genuine feel for what’s involved and the realistic time it takes to scout a good location and set the Amok up to the cost point of ready to sleep in with a nice view and no worries about insects or rain; instructional would be good like a real life uncensored manual; it would help me get into the “let’s do it” mindset; taking away the excuses of the unknown.
Love the double hammock. I completely agree that the draumr takes a few nights to get used to. I was afraid to move my first night in it and that was after it took forever to figure out how to get into it. 😂. Can’t wait to get out again in it! Love seeing the two of you together outdoors, and can’t wait for the summer edition of your new series. Love the long format!
I agree with Erin, everything is wet before I brush my teeth. Not sure why....just like I always, always put on my left sock first....IDK. Love any vid, but it was sooooooooooooooooo short.
Okay, not only do I wet the brush, but I wet the toothpaste, too. I know, weird, but it's something I've done since I was a wee little lad. Fun little trip and those quesadillas looked fantastic! Cheers!
Wet tooth brush. Sorry man 😂 I could definitely see how on longer wilderness trips the single hammocks would be easier to set up anyway, especially in spots with less open space. Just my thoughts. Super cool hammock tho, I want one 😁 Love your videos and can’t wait for the next one. My wife and I deeply miss living on the Great Lakes in Michigan. I’ve been watching your videos to wind down before sleep and get a little taste of my beloved lakes. Are you posting another addition to the year-long adventure?? Much love from central Texas 🇺🇸🇨🇦
I use a dry brush. I think the paste sticks better to a dry brush. I don't want a lot of foam that dilutes the abrasives of the paste. I feel the paste does a better job cleaning the teeth. I try to mimic what the dental hygienist does. I also use an electric brush with a round brush head. Sorry Erin.😢
I knew I liked Erin for more than her Wonder Woman abilities . Who dry brushes ? I looked it up, Wikipedia says that even Neanderthals wet brushed their teeth ;)
First, wet tooth brush. Second, I would suggest that you set your suspension straps at the same height. I think you could then fine tune the hang easier from there. The fact that Jon's side was strapped higher was the likely cause of him feeling tilted to the middle. Third, just wanted to say that this was another fantastic video. I'm envious that you are able to get outdoors as much as you do and make a living at it. Can't wait to see the next adventure.
Excellent Jon and Erin! Really like the double hammock idea. Looked easy to set up and take down as well as looking really comfortable! Enjoyed this clip... Beautiful location! Definitely wet the toothbrush first. My wife and I agree with Erin. Sorry, Jon. 👍😉
Love you guys. I’m 63 years old and I’ve been camping and chopping wood for years. When I see Erin it reminds me of how tough I was (still am). Keep filming you guys rock and definitely wet the toothbrush. She’s right. ❤
Great work testing this hammock. I would never have considered this system until seeing how well it works for the two of you. Great job on the channel. Lived up there for a decade and didn’t do half of what you have done.
I don't know how others feel. But if it helps you do cool stuff and make cool videos I say take the sponsors. You're allowed to be picky about which ones you take. Like you love amok, if they want to sponsor a video I'd say do it. Just be honest with your audience, and make sure you like and recommend the product/service before you agree to do a sponsorship with them. Only work with companies you believe in.
This is what happens when you take a UA-cam break… your favorite outdoors couple gets married. Congratulations on your marriage! How fun! Now I’m going to go back and find that video. Lol😂 So excited for you both!!!!
I figured you guys would get the double! My husband and I just got our Draumrs in the fall and finally got out to use them. The first time was definitely an ordeal to get into the sleeping bag but it gets better each time... best sleep I've ever had out in the bush! We were a little sad being so far away from each other, having always used a double sleeping bag. We shoulda waited since they just announced the double UGH!! Oh well, future purchase eventually :3 Also, Erin wins. Wet toothbrush all the way.
That thing is sweet! I would use the double hammock so I could keep all of my gear with me… I’m like that! I enjoy knowing that everything is staying dry and that I can reach it at any hour….Tom
Just went n checked it out. Ho-leeeee crow!! At 430 US dollars, we'll have to save pennies for ten years to ever afford one. Although they DO look really awesome!! Have fun guys!! Looks like Erin has become quite the lumber-jack!! She seems to be having a blast doing it, though!! You go girl!! LOLOLOL Take care guys!!
I knew I slept well in my Draumr compared to the tent.. but I slept in it for the first time since getting a Garmin watch 6 months ago.. and recorded my best sleep ever.
You two aren’t going to like it, I’m betting. People need their space. I think this design, while interesting, is best for an adult and their child. We will see. As you move forward in your adventures, we will see what you end up using. If you stick with your single units, I’m correct. If this one, then I’m wrong.
Something is better than nothing looking forward to a long trip the hammock is cool but it looks difficult to turn over in I turn over so many times in a night that my dog gives me y the side eye and gets out of bed
Just really enjoying you both. Your relationship is truly special and inspiring for others looking for a similar relationship. 😊 Looking forward to the possibility of a “little “ hammock in the future?
It could very well be time for me to upgrade to an Amok for my biking trips. I sleep good in my cheap hammock, but I know I’d sleep like a log in a flat sleep hammock
Hi there! We actually just made a video about this. It covers how to manage weight differences, set up tips for a balanced hang, and tricks to ensure maximum comfort for both you and your pup 😁
Thanks a lot for the video, I was looking forward to it a lot. It seems AMOK created a good solution for a twin hammock and I´m personaly very interested in getting one. So I was curious what you two think about it, especially because you mainly use the single DRAUMR and have great experience. Thankfully there are lots of trees in Ontario to be able to to without tents. I totaly get why we won´t see you two in the double hammock a lot on your trips. We all want you to stay a happy couple forever ;)
You did'nt do the bug net😢 i would have liked to see that. I find with mind i get a little tipsy getting it around my feet to zip it up. I feel it would have been a little more difficult. Awseome vid! Love my Amok, cheers!
As always, y’all are so cute. Erin is “champion lumberjack of the Ontario UA-camrs”. Just got my Draumur, will be initiating it next week - enjoy the commission 😂😂 (I know, just kidding). Thanks Jon! Oh, and dry on the toothbrush.
This was awesome video. I’m not a hammock person lol hat off to you two to enjoy the double hammock. My wife would have never done that’s lol. Hats off to you two. And as always are travels 😊
I struggle with hammocks because of I issues sleeping on my back. The Dramr, with its' possibilities of side sleeping, intrigues me, but the price of the single is daunting; the double would likely be out of reach, especially on a piece of gear I'm unfamiliar with.
I highly recommend the Draumr. It works great for side sleeping. Yes, it's pricey, but worth it for someone who struggles with getting good sleep while camping due to back problems or anything else.
Great hammock. I thoroughly thought it would have massive middle sagging forcing being mushed together all night. Great engineering on that extra ridgeline. Perfect weather too! Have to get out before you just turn into two mosquito feeders. Haha
Nothing wrong with a good ole car camp from time to time! The Amok hammocks do look so comfy but I think the person I shared with would have to be a very sound sleeper because I get up a lot to use the washroom during the night. I may find my self locked out after the third time. haha! Certainly looks interesting, especially for those that sleep through the night. Thanks for sharing your car camp! :) :)
Beautiful area cool hammock for a couple but not sure about the centre separation string . you folks always have such tasty meals while in the bush makes me wanta eat. Thanks for bringing us along on your car camping adventure looking forward to the next video.
Two little love birds!🦅. Don’t forget my juicer offer in exchange for wedding invites. Get married in a canoe or hammock… Zander can be the flower girl ….. lol … just kidding Z……
Hey Jon, I just watched your video and I must say it's really helpful and well made. I was wondering if I could help you design your thumbnails for better CTR? Wanna try out a free one?
Ha! We have 17 Tex Mex restaurants in New Braunfels Texas, I wish they could compete with your cooking. Sad but all cookie cutter. OK, there are a few "food trucks" and hole and the wall places, but the name brand places can't compare. Not a fan of the double hammock, sleeping is a very personal thing, especially in the bush.
I went and purchased a used Dramur 5.0 and used it for the first time this weekend in Algonquin. It was fantastic. Best sleep I've ever had camping. I blame (or owe it to 😂) your videos. I also have 2 Hennessy hammocks and the Dramur blows the doors off of them.
Not so adventurous...next vid is a rugged 10-day wilderness trip.

@@tallmantoo I guess that would be wise
Just wondering why the website you advertise is different than the youtube channels they advertise. One site has it for 350$ and the other is 430$?
@@evanodriscoll930 The site without the hyphon appears to redirect to regional websites. I could be wrong tho.
Gonna need a Amok guest room for Xander. 😁👍
😆
😂😂😂 xander as the third wheel!

It's a draumr Queen 😅
Good one
That’s funny

Interesting. Wet tooth brush at home but dry in woods
Great video, always love your content . I always wet my toothbrush before toothpaste.
I agree with Erin, everything is wet before I brush my teeth. Not sure why....just like I always, always put on my left sock first....IDK. Love any vid, but it was sooooooooooooooooo short.
Hi Jon,
For a moment there I thought you meant that Amok isn't sponsoring the spooning.😂😂😂
Okay, not only do I wet the brush, but I wet the toothpaste, too. I know, weird, but it's something I've done since I was a wee little lad. Fun little trip and those quesadillas looked fantastic! Cheers!

Much love from central Texas 🇺🇸🇨🇦
Too much “ Togetherness” whilst Camping… maybe in your backyard?!😳😳Really nice Camp- love to see the two of you🥰❣️
The real question when wetting your toothbrush is - Do you use cold or hot water?
Couples hammock, complete with chastity wall.
I no Dr Ruth Westheimer but, I'm pretty sure that wall isn't going to prevent anything. I don't know. Maybe in metric it's different :)
Wetting the brush helps create more foam to clean the nooks and crannies...Erin wins.
I always felt like I was contaminating the tube of paste because the paste would get wet that is still in the tube 😅. Someone knows what I mean 😂
Erin always wins, if John wants to have kids lol! jk
I use a dry brush. I think the paste sticks better to a dry brush. I don't want a lot of foam that dilutes the abrasives of the paste. I feel the paste does a better job cleaning the teeth. OMG though my name is also Erin I totally have to agree with Erin have to wet the toothbrush first, can't just use spit lol😂❤from Michigan
interesting, never seen one b4. great for newlyweds, but after 35 years of marriage, personal space is always treasured. lol. nice video
Is ThiS WhAt WeRE goinNG to USe on OuR TriP ToGeTherr???
You have too many fleas but you can sleep under it in your dog bed
😂😂😂😂
First, wet tooth brush.

I can see where a double hammock would be useful when your partner or a child is uneasy sleeping alone.
Thanks for the awesome feedback, Jon and Erin! Thrilled you're enjoying Draumr Double - this made our day 🙌
Our pleasure :) Congrats on pulling this off!
Excellent Jon and Erin! Really like the double hammock idea. Looked easy to set up and take down as well as looking really comfortable! Enjoyed this clip... Beautiful location! Definitely wet the toothbrush first. My wife and I agree with Erin. Sorry, Jon. 👍😉
😂😂😂 oh, the ecstasy and agony of sharing a bed.
Love seeing you guys do videos together. Seems like a fantastic marriage. Shout out from a local woodsman from North Bay!
I always wet my toothbrush I have no idea why😂
Love you guys. I’m 63 years old and I’ve been camping and chopping wood for years. When I see Erin it reminds me of how tough I was (still am). Keep filming you guys rock and definitely wet the toothbrush. She’s right. ❤

Great job on the channel. Lived up there for a decade and didn’t do half of what you have done.
You 2 were living in sin before but after the wedding went down, the double hammock is allowed. 😋
I don't know how others feel. But if it helps you do cool stuff and make cool videos I say take the sponsors. You're allowed to be picky about which ones you take.

❤just love the new hammock ,you two are Great ❤and it will be fun watching yall camp with it
Good to see Aaron in a video again also the hammock look very comfortable😊
This is what happens when you take a UA-cam break… your favorite outdoors couple gets married. Congratulations on your marriage! How fun! Now I’m going to go back and find that video. Lol😂 So excited for you both!!!!
You have to wet your toothbrush before you use it. It's like a rule or something.
John and Xander next trip in the double? 😉
Wet brushing for me because I use a sonicare electric toothbrush and have a tendency to brush too "hard". The water softens the bristles.
It's about time you Doods got a double hammock and slept together...LoL. It's awkward when you sleep in different places.
Definitely wet the toothbrush!! 🪥
I figured you guys would get the double! My husband and I just got our Draumrs in the fall and finally got out to use them. That thing is sweet! I would use the double hammock so I could keep all of my gear with me… I’m like that!
I enjoy knowing that everything is staying dry and that I can reach it at any hour….Tom
PS: As long as your brushing your teeth you good either way. ......LOL
Water on the toothbrush! Team Erin.
Given the option, I wet my toothbrush after applying a tiny amount of toothpaste… I don’t like it very foamy, so I go very light on paste. ….Tom
I sleep better in the Dramaur than my own bed.... I'm thinking how I could rig it up in my bedroom.
Definitely on team Erin in regards to the toothbrush. I could not use a dry toothbrush, it has to be wet. You make a lovely couple!
Just went n checked it out. Ho-leeeee crow!! At 430 US dollars, we'll have to save pennies for ten years to ever afford one. Although they DO look really awesome!! Have fun guys!! Me too 😢
The problem with the hammock comes at divorce. Can you cut it in two?😘😅
Wow never thought that would work for two people but it so does!! Thanks for sharing!! Oh yeah I forgot, you gotta wet the brush
I knew I slept well in my Draumr compared to the tent.. but I slept in it for the first time since getting a Garmin watch 6 months ago.. and recorded my best sleep ever.

Maybe take the double and a single on a longer trip I see no reason you can’t solo in the double then you have the option for minimal extra carry
Something is better than nothing looking forward to a long trip the hammock is cool but it looks difficult to turn over in I turn over so many times in a night that my dog gives me y the side eye and gets out of bed

Love this! Got me thinking of getting a single Draumer! They look great!
What's all this talk about dry brushing your teeth? Absolutely preposterous! Always apply water before brush. 😄
You have to wet the tooth brush. Erin wins!😁
I love it when you guys just go have some fun and do a low stress quick get away.
Think this would work for my dog and I? He’s always hogging my space when we camp.
Hi there! We actually just made a video about this. It covers how to manage weight differences, set up tips for a balanced hang, and tricks to ensure maximum comfort for both you and your pup 😁
That looks crazy 🤪
Probably better off separate more comfy ❤from Michigan

Dramur 5.0 i mean
The double hang looked great. Curious, is this the same site you camped at last year in your return from injury video?
Naw but maybe 40km away and similar!
Amok sponsor this channel, its a true Canadian gem.
Enjoy the new camping season. Don't forget to take us along
Dry toothbrush = barbaric
I struggle with hammocks because of I issues sleeping on my back. The Dramr, with its' possibilities of side sleeping, intrigues me, but the price of the single is daunting; the double would likely be out of reach, especially on a piece of gear I'm unfamiliar with.

Nice hammock. Nice video and good to see you both!!
I bet you'd have better results if you used Elvish Rope
Yes!!! My Tuesday night is set. Let’s go!!
That double hammock looks bigger than my apartment!
ABSOLUTELY wet the brush!
I saw this advertised a few days ago and instantly thought of you guys and wondered if this was on your radar and apparently so! Thanks for sharing
Nothing wrong with a good ole car camp from time to time! Two little love birds!🦅. Don’t forget my juicer offer in exchange for wedding invites. Get married in a canoe or hammock… Zander can be the flower girl ….. lol … just kidding Z……
Comparing meaningless toothbrush hygiene preferences.. 🙄but meanwhile adding Coconut sour cream on a Mexican quesadilla? 😳 Coconut? Never!
Thanks for sharing. 🕊️
Fantastic videos and I'm sure you probably mentioned it at some point but where did you get the hammock
Thank you! Put a link in the pinned comment at the top
Thanks for the quick reply
❤️😴❤️😴❤️
Jon and Erin nice to see you guys I like your new hammock look so comfortable.
a dry toothbrush is very concerning...
The proper order of operations is 1. wet toothbrush 2. apply toothpaste 3. wet AGAIN 4. proceed with brushing
Hey Jon,
I just watched your video and I must say it's really helpful and well made.

definately wet brush first! Wish you guys could have waxed elequently for another hour to get my wilderness fix. Tis but a scratch..
Nice trial run on the double hammock. Nice to see Erin!!
Super dope episode Brother 👊🏼😎🤙🏼! Cheers from California Y’all 🍻
I went and purchased a used Dramur 5.0 and used it for the first time this weekend in Algonquin. It was fantastic. Best sleep I've ever had camping. I blame (or owe it to 😂) your videos. I also have 2 Hennessy hammocks and the Dramur blows the doors off of them.
And even though it wasn't for the guy I bought it from, he said he bought it based on your videos as well :)
Why? Just why? When my wife starts convulsing, she'd end up pushing me out of the hammock. So... Just let me sleep. And then what if a bear...
I love my own Amok but I am curious, typically , how far are you off the ground? In the single and double.?
Erin with the marriage comment at 3:15 ...... one of her best since her anger at the rabbity Island purgatory!!!
