Kevin, I have photographed thousands of high end Colts and Winchesters - your Dad knows me. These are gorgeous. They obviously spent very little time exposed to daylight and were kept oiled and handled like glass. Most people don't realize that antique guns are not even a finite resource. Each year we lose more and more to attrition. Antique and Curiosity guns are an important part of our history. In regards to condition gun condition , 98% is the Holy Grail. 99.9% is like the Unicorn - only that they do exist.

SO many chances for those to get damaged over the years. Dings, corrosion, bad maintenance, etc.
Right? I call them miracle guns. The fact that they were around before white gloves, humidity control, modern HVAC, etc, and STILL look like that is a miracle. There is no reason for it.

Rock Island Auction Company hello from Italy, first off thanx so much for this... you duly post here on YT absolutely spectaculars things, but these two are ... I do not have any correct term. As a guy who spent so many many years (and a string of sacrifices, why not..) to get some Old West original firearms in relatively good shape, it's almost 'hurting' to me to see such mesmerizing guns...
But who cares. I can always put on a pair sunglasses if my eyes go into troubles ah ah... I'll keep watching your videos.

I have the same model in slightly less condition, but very impressive.
Same tang sight.
Same xxx walnut.
Color Case hardened frame and crescent buttplate.
Same pistol grip configuration, but missing the black ivory insert.
3rd model born in 1893.
Completely unmolested in 38WCF
I'm considering selling
It brought $184,000 back in Sept 2018. It was also in .38 WCF. Give us a shout. The market has only gotten stronger since then.
