Thank you, Moody Blues “ for all the beautiful music you’ve put out for everyone to enjoy. Their music sounds just as good today as it did years ago, it never gets old & definitely beats all the other music out there today! Thank you, Pointreven for playing The Moody Blues “ music videos!👍👏👏👏♥️
I don’t think John Lodge was underrated, he had the falsetto voice & base guitar, very needed for their soundtrack. Justin Hayward is so gorgeous, the women go crazy over him, back then. I think they all were cute in their hay days. 🥰
Maybe it's been said here before, but this is perfection of timing to the point of genius, a really tight band. You can visually see Justin listening for each note and timing everything everyone else is doing and they are timing to his lead, perfectly! He does it with the keenest of pleasure showing on his face as if he lives for hearing all the notes from everyone, not just himself. Every band leader should be as brilliant. John and Ray know how to fill in as many notes as possible to bring the most pleasure to our ears. BEST BAND, so far! Really tight, they were! Wonder if it could ever happen again
This really takes one back to the days when just the five band members on were stage but I enjoyed the larger productions with Norda Mullen, Julie Ragins, Gordie Marshall, and Alan Hewitt on stage live as well.. Being before Gordie Marshall became the second drummer on tour, one can see Graeme was a pretty darn good drummer on his own, probably much under rated. The tempo of Tuesday Afternoon seems a bit quicker than one hears on the "Lovely to See You" concert DVD. In my mind, the finest band ever and saw them live about twenty five times from 1978 (Providence RI) to 2018 at their final public appearance in Las Vegas. R.I.P. Ray and Graeme.
I have to disagree. I'm a Moodies fanatic myself, but like so many bands when they play live, they're playing this ever so slightly rushed, and as a result some of the critical pocket that gives the recording its feel is lost. It still sounds great, but they're in a bit of a hurry.
RIP Mike Pinder, you were a pioneer of the mellotron. No group has ever copied the sound of the Moodies. The song "The Voice", post Pinder, is my fav song cuz Voice Rd is a road in MI that leads to beautiful North Bar Lake that has great memories for me when I lived up there.
В этой яркой и безумно талантливой британской команде The Moody Blues трудно выделить какого - нибудь лидера - эта изумительная команда напоминает мне маленький симфонический оркестр с прекрасными вокальным искусством !! Спасибо Вам J. Lodge, G. Edge, R. Thomas, M. Pinder, J. Hayward ! The Moody Blues - высочайший класс ! ❤
The "Band" lost their drummer Graeme Edge and flutist Ray Thomas. RIP guys. Thank you for being part of an incredible band. Justin Hayward and John Lodge are the surviving members. carrying the "torch" to continue the music. Their music is classic! Mike Pinder and Denny Laine left the lineup.
@@designerlarry I was very impressed with strange times and december. barring tony clark producing when they took the reins and produced their own albums I felt yaay back to the original style ! what's to do ? take your guitar, pad of paper, write, record, sell the result. South Park is right! what do you need a company for ? nicer fountains ? IF that's even what's stopping them. Justin was asked, he said LONG AGO now, theres material, but I just dont know. I WANTTO HEAR IT ! They shouldve had 5 now since "December" I think the fans have got to speak out. write. etc
Yes, I love that they are always updating their classics. Tonight, I listened to their 1969 live Paris performance of “Tuesday Afternoon” - they played it almost like a ballad.
Wow, this is an incredible performance. And they pulled out two gems, Driftwood and Talking out of Turn you rarely hear live. Moodies will live forever!!
Those commenting here will appreciate how we get to see Justin's look and demeanor mature in his videos. He's just as beautiful, but there is a sexiness, confidence and maturity that we get to see develop that hasn't quite surfaced in earlier times. And then there's John in those leather pants! 💖
While it’s great to see the Moodies here, since they lost 3 key members, I don’t think Justin and John will ever return for a tribute concert. I love the way both of them took lead on Isn’t Life Strange. RIP, Ray, Graeme, Mike, Denny and Clint.
Been a fan since Days of Future Passed. The Moodies are my favorite band. Seen them in concert 18 times and never been disappointed. Miss Ray and Graeme. RIP I hope when i cross to the other side I hear their music
There aren't many "live" performances I enjoy as much as this. One thing that has always drawn me to the Moody's is that their concerts are true to their original songs - some enhancements here and there, but not over the top...Not every 3-4 minute song needs to be 10-15 minutes in concert.
Cool performance with a gem in Driftwood live and John's Isnt life Strange, Talking Out of Turn classics...love the hit intro of Tuesday Afternoon...nice to hear The Voice done perfectly live by The Voice of Justin Hayward...great to see Ray with his harmonies and beautiful flute pieces. Love the sepia both Justin and John looking absolutely gorgeous, enjoying this video...thankyou, definately one for my Moodies playlist on here. 💙
I was at this concert. Wembley Arena, November 1984 as part of their ‘Voices In The Sky’ UK tour for the charity NSPCC. It was filmed by the BBC. I was seated in the upper side tier near the stage on John Lodge’s side of the stage. A great concert. My favourite band and I’ve been a fan since 1969.
Such a feast for the ears AND the eyes…how I wish I could have been there. I love how Hayward’s voice just soars on those sustained notes and how Lodge’s voice melds perfectly.
They should have just made him an official member...he really brought them back to life....and after they kicked him out of the band in 1991, they went downhill. could it be karma?
Yes Patrick Moraz could have gotten more settlement than the measly 430k pounds. In the 13 years wd MB, he contributed much. Anyway MB offered 700k but moraz went to court asking 3 million
Even with Patrick's talent, he can never replace Mike and his playing of the mellotron. Mike gave the band a sound that no other band could ever have. They were never the same. The 7 albums are in a class by themselves.
Don't think I've ever heard the Moody Blues play completely live on film or video . I do know their mellotron was extraordinarily difficult to keep in tune .
Just got to Justin in Phoenix Az, June 25, 2024 on a Tuesday Afternoon
He’s still got it….. that voice and guitar player
John Lodge is so highly underrated as a bassist. I think he is one of the best of all time!!
He just exudes joy on stage. We have been blessed by their music.
@martyc2637 Mr. Lodge's bass sounds HUGE on his solo album 10,000 Light Years!
I don’t think John Lodge was underrated, he had the falsetto voice & base guitar, very needed for their soundtrack. Justin Hayward is so gorgeous, the women go crazy over him, back then. I think they all were cute in their hay days. 🥰
Sings and plays bass at the same time, which can be difficult. Plus, I love that high wailing falsetto

I’m glad I found this channel. I’ve found bits and pieces of the Moodies in other places on YT but this is a find.

Wonderfully light years ahead.
The perfection is there.

John Lodge high vocals and harmonies gave them such a great and distinctive sound
best band ever

Wonderful concert. Love the Moody Blues💖💖💖

The Blue Jays remain. Justin tours as a solo artist these days.
Don't forget Clint Warwick, too. R.I.P. Clint.😢😢
Mike and Danny passed away about a month (?) apart.
Thanks for posting, with Ray and Graeme gone now, every one a treasure....

I noticed that too
That voice. It's home to me.
Agree. Love their reactions to the Songs

Congrats Moody Blues 2018
RRHF
About F'ing time!
For some new Moody Blues albums
hobby gamer very doubtful you'll see new music though I'd be curious what that will sound like. Those days of future are past.
@@designerlarry I was very impressed with strange times and december. barring tony clark producing when they took the reins and produced their own albums I felt yaay back to the original style !

Should have been long before then
Nothing better than The Moody Blues ❤❤❤❤
Justin is a very beatiful man
Indeed he is.
Heaven sent.
And so is John!!
I named my son after him in 1976. In those days you never heard the name Justin.
DAVID WAS BORN JUSTIN TIME....DAVID BEING HIS FIRST NAME....🌊❄👽🙏🐦🤗👁👁❤😇
Oh he's so gorgeous!
great footage. what a find. :)
I love hearing the little tweaks in the songs over the decades. God Bless the Moody Blues for all the music that poured out of them into us!🥰🙏🏼❤️
Yes, I love that they are always updating their classics. Tonight, I listened to their 1969 live Paris performance of “Tuesday Afternoon” - they played it almost like a ballad.
00:31 Tuesday Afternoon
04:40 Isn't Life Strange
11:00 The Voice
16:16 Driftwood
20:50 Talking Out Of Turn
Thanks Busy Bee!
Appreciate that!
Wow, this is an incredible performance. And they pulled out two gems, Driftwood and Talking out of Turn you rarely hear live. Moodies will live forever!!
I just saw John Lodge in June and was so happy to hear a couple of Voyager tunes including TOOT.
I think I saw this tour too. Both LDV and Present for sure.
Justin Hayward is the grounding force.
Those commenting here will appreciate how we get to see Justin's look and demeanor mature in his videos. He's just as beautiful, but there is a sexiness, confidence and maturity that we get to see develop that hasn't quite surfaced in earlier times. And then there's John in those leather pants! 💖
What a dreamboat Justin is!!!
I agree, in the earlier videos in France Justin looks a little on the shy side but always sexy.
Well, it's Friday afternoon, how, I still love and can recite the lyrics to this song after becoming a fan in 1975
Very good looking band.Very smart.Music is perfect.
I can't believe how good this is.
Great recording and good choice of songs. TheMoodies are my favorite band.
While it’s great to see the Moodies here, since they lost 3 key members, I don’t think Justin and John will ever return for a tribute concert. I love the way both of them took lead on Isn’t Life Strange.

Miss Ray and Graeme. RIP
I hope when i cross to the other side I hear their music
Justin s voice is pitch perfect
I love all the Moody Blues. John Lodge Ray Thomas and Graham Edge. So glad they are in the rock and roll hall of Fame. So very deserving. 🙏🏻♥️🌹

Sometimes it's annoying when bands go off script. I want to hear songs the way they're recorded for the most part
My Husband and I Totally Understand & Agree !!!
I had a concert of theirs on VHS but don't use VHS anymore. Great to find these clips of them in concert on YT!!
Like a hidden jewel you just keep Rediscovering.

Ray is so beautiful here.
Yes he is
i do love the mix - bass and guitar are very distinct - love Ray's vocals - which are soooo missed in concert [still missed - after so many years]
Ole Jus was always massively underrated on guitar, tha knows
The transitions between the different sections for Tuesday Afternoon were even more seamless and musical than the studio version. Fantastic.
They're excellent in concert
I love this---the vintage black and white tones but it's crisp and modern at the same time...perfect.
Though it's not that old, 1985.it was on telly, was in colour!
Hayward, the microphone is positioned perfect for you on this particular set.:)
Such a feast for the ears AND the eyes…how I wish I could have been there. I love how Hayward’s voice just soars on those sustained notes and how Lodge’s voice melds perfectly.
I've never seen them in person. I would love to go back to see this
Just LOVE these gentlemen!
My fav. Wish I'd been there.probably would have cried x
God bless You and your family, Justin.
So haunting...Isn't life strange...Absolutely beautiful!
This Was The First Moody Blues Concert I Attended ,Thursday 29th November 1984.

WoW - this sounded like it was really live! !! This was really great! 🎇 🎇
I remember this, thought it would have been released on dvd by now!
I had a VHS of them in concert. I know longer use VHS. So great to these YT clips. And some of the in the 60s which I'd never seen before.
The Voice always lifts me to the moon and back
There are an exceptional then The Moody Blues. And still are today.
Thank you so very much for sharing this beautiful video!
I love You forever, You are very beautiful, Justin.
I have a lifetime of a memory seeing this Band at Bill Grahams famed Fillmore East in NYC in march of 1970 not much has ever beat that night
Amazing performance

Beautiful!!
Vintage “peak hours” for these gents…. Fantastic!
This is friggin good
they can see it on YT but they can never see this live.. WHAT A FUC%^&* BAND THESE GUYS WERE!! I MEAN WHAT A GENIUS JUSTIN HAYWARD WAS
The Moody Blues brings me back, for some reason, to the Medieval era and it feels fine to me
I write stories to music. Tuesday afternoon is one of them. Someday on dvd.
Great quality! Thank you!
❤these impressed me already in the 70.s
Justin = Dreamboat
Another one i didn't have, thank you!

I missed this one! Thanks for the post!
N
No doubt one of the greatest bands of all time.
1987ish? Such a joy.
Waauw this sounds amazing live. ❤
I LOVE these guys!
Like Patrick Moraz or not, this proves to me he was a great keyboard player.
Awesome
He is so cute
Patrick's contribution is clear in this clip.
I agree, I especially like the use of the Mellotron.
They should have just made him an official member...he really brought them back to life....and after they kicked him out of the band in 1991, they went downhill.
could it be karma?

1986 concert full footage is what I long to see
the same year I saw them in Pensacola I believe...
This band was so Remarkable to make Eachother Better, to sing into our hearts, they really made the song comelive on stage.
Justin’s from the George Harrison school of guitar, never play one more note than is necessary
Justin and George, are my favorites ❤❤❤
It worked!
Wow Patrick Moraz!
aloways underrated und makes a brilliant Job after Mike
In the 60s the Moody Blues moved us to asking real "Questions"
Justin il.mio principe
This is great
I love that patrick Moraz uses the mellotron. Even on yrack it wasnt used on the Lp.
Don't think I've ever heard the Moody Blues play completely live on film or video . I do know their mellotron was extraordinarily difficult to keep in tune .
