@scottjordan4716 O do I know it! I'm 74, saw many concerts before going to Woodstock, had received the gift of poetry from the Holy Spirit. God is love and that's what we, like The Moody Blues, prized above all: "... That's what the War of Love is for," they sang. And they were sincere about it ... which allows God to enter and dwell in us, and put holy words and feelings celebrating His love and valor in our songs and poetry, straight from the heart. This is pure gold! Live music from a time when musicians were forced to mime to studio tracks for televised performances, the flaws, Justin’s voice cracking and the Mellotron slightly dragging at times makes this video pure gold!
Graham Edge was a great drummer, I love Mike Pinder's dig at the start with the question about the dickie bows and Ringo! ha ha! Love Mike and the Melotron. The Moodies were never quite the same after Mike left, but they were all great in their own right. Good job by all as always! Each had their talents and unique voices which made them great. 5 men that could all play and sing and write songs and perform them as a band, respecting and enjoying and performing each others songs. You don't see that these days at all.
What a wonderful glimpse of the past! Seeing the Moody Blues perform 3 songs live is such a treat. Justin Hayward is one of my favorite singer/songwriters and his voice is still excellent at the age of 76!! He continues to perform concerts and we're almost in 2023! 💙💙💙💙💙 RIP Ray Thomas and Graeme Edge 🙏🙏
It’s 2024 John had a stroke last year and is back touring this year as is Justin. I’ll be seeing Justin on the 10th October in Aberdeen, Scotland. Amazing to think I still love his music.
John Lodge is an excellent bass player and terribly underrated. And, Justin Hayward was light years ahead of his time. Amazing band all the way around.
I love the Moody Blues, but like any group, they fit perfectly in their time slot. Justin Hayward wasn't ahead of his time. He arrived just in time on the music scene to help combine rock and orchestra during the 1960's, which Jon Lord had done with Deep Purple. And that time period was experimental for all forms of music from The Turtles to Gary Puckett and The Union Gap to The Beatles and The Nice to The Crazy World of Arthur Brown. Every band and person fit neatly into their time slot. Even groups like The Bubble Puppy and The Electric Prunes appeared on the music scene at the right time. Nobody were ahead of their time.
@@Trux004 Who did symphonic concept albums before these guys? Led by Hayward, they broke barriers and were indeed ahead of the pack. They predated Yes. They released Days of Future Past BEFORE Shades of Deep Purple was released. With the lone exception of A Whiter Shade of Pale by Procol Harum, Hayward and the Moodies are the banner carrier of Symphonic Rock as well as the concept album. And Hayward is one of the greatest songwriters in Rock history. He didn't need to use covers of Joe South and Neil Diamond to make his initial splash.
Im 70 and I was about to post something similar. Days of Future Past was the first album I owned that blew me away, and it’s where my love for the mellotron started. The combination of the Moodies vocals with the flute and mellotron created music that took you on a journey. Looking back, it's incredible to think that the orchestral interludes were written, recorded, and added to the main songs in under a week. Hearing these live versions is a revelation to hear how good they were live at this early stage. In Seatch of the Lost Chord was even better and my favorite album of theirs. I saw them in concert a few times with bands like Procol Harum and Jethro Tull. Legend of a Mind (Timothy Leary's Dead) always brought the house down.
AMEN to each of you ... I'm 74, found their music so genuinely sublime, creative, and in pursuit of love and pure goodness. How perfectly they stated this in "Question," in "Voices in the Sky," indeed goodness flowed from their music so deeply. And it never ages, does it? "That's what the War of Love is for ...."
I've seen them several times live. Including the Concert at Red Rocks with the Denver Symphony Orchestra. These guys are truly the real deal. Professional through and through. Amazing band!!! RIP RAY. You are missed...
Can there be any doubt these guys are the most underrated band of all time? Just spectacular! Thanks for posting!! Justin Hayward is a gift to mankind.
@@MsMojoworks James, not underrated by the fans. Underrated by the critics. For the most part the critics hated them, and it took them forever to get inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
What a treat to see the band play these songs, at the beginning of their creation, when the band was still nervous and unsure of their performance. A raw and beautiful moment to witness.
It's incredible to see how polished the Moodies were at this early stage. Their musicianship was impeccable. They obviously put great effort into this performance, exhibiting a professionalism that could not be denied.
@UCpnMdroxjzkUvnm5pqKtFmw he's a fucking idiot who is choking on the word underrated. To say that Justin Hayward is an underrated guitarist is like saying Elvis was never a "hipster."
In '68 I was just coming up for 5 years old & have a good memory of those times. Most music performances were of this type & quality back then. I tell young people at work that The Beatles were music gods & they have no understanding about the evolving scene, how could they when you hear the trash that goes down nowadays?
Graeme Edge's drumming in the middle of "Peak Hour" is shear perfection. Just like what he does at the beginning of "I'm Just A Singer In A Rock & Roll Band" several years later.
The Moody Blues are literally the essence of the 60’s movement. Albums like “A Question of Balance” really represent a mental and emotional revolution of consciousness. Evidently it’s too much for humanity to take in because it appears to be a mainly a “road not taken” as humanity rapidly speeds towards oblivion.
....@ Stuart McAlpine ...My thoughts as well, the first time I heard The Moody Blues, ..I was in High School. 1968. The Songs were not geared towards what some considered " Mainstream pop music "... ;Rather it was to look into oneself,..as you stated, The Emotional and Mentsl Consciousness. I was absolutely Mesmerized the first time I heard them, and it's a " love affair " that continued from that moment on....
I just lost my lovely little 8 year old pup named Chica too a broken heart .... my investments are in tatters .... simple food is getting to expensive .... my country falls to Islam and the derision of an Evil Group that are seemingly Hell Bent on Killing us All ...... and im here mourning my loss of this sad and brokenworld by listening to the Moodies that showed a way too Pure, Simple and Beautiful for people to hear, see or follow !
It is amazing how The Moodies are never really mentioned when discussing the best bass players, or guitarist or what ever. But they were and are excellent musicians.
I was 16 and fell in puppy love with a beautiful girl. We had a date on a Tuesday afternoon and I swear I listened to this song for the next 3 weeks straight that summer. Those memories are good ones!! (She found another beaux and I found another girl. Life goes on!)
Can you imagine being in that audience and to have marveled at their sophisticated thoughtful music and unique sound with likely no concept of what was to be one of the most creative prolific and influencial musical groups of the 20th century whose music still resonates with people worldwide over 50 yrs. later
Wow, wonderful to see this concert of them at the beginning of their long career. Their musicianship, talent and professionalism really shine through for such young men. No wonder their music has stood the test of time. Never dated, always as great as the first time we heard it back in the 60's. Love them to death!
Still holds up 50 years later, took that album from my Uncle's record collection back in the mid seventies, and wore that copy out. Changed the course of my musical taste.
One of the best videos of the Moodies I've ever seen. This is a gem. What can I say, I love all of them. And Justin Hayward, a class act then, and now.
Certainly a gem...but( oh dear there's that word) The camera crew should have been more familiar with these songs perhaps from a proper listening to the album or from a pre performance rehearsal to highlight some the members solo embellishment i.e. Rays flute solo on Nights..and Justin's lead Vocals. Im just saying..but hey..This is History and No Complaints and it's Dec 10 , 2021 ..and I'm trolling the internet and should be sleeping and gotta work this morning and its 2:20 am and ...well...Yada yadda yadda. LOVE THESE GUYS! R.I.P. Ray and dearly departed Graham ( nice drumming). Wishing ,Hoping and Praying this will be out on some sort of commercial release! Amen 🙏
Oh for those days to return again!! Despite the problems with the antiquated sound system (so typical of those days) and a few blips by the band here and there,Ray fooling around with the flute in the days before he became really proficient on that instrument, with even Justin making a mistake on Nights, this video is pure gold. Watching the guys from 1968 makes me realize just how lucky we were to be able to have such incredibly talented musicians in one band. The compare makes me smile, he sits on a shelve above the band as they perform and gives the impression of being so laid back. Well it was in those days and that is why I think we were really privileged also to enjoy such a wonderful time when money didn't really influence our decisions as much as our love of music and the power of love.
The moody blue's are very deep! I'm 67 and have been listening to them since I was 16! I have all of the 8tracks and now all cds...these are the best of the best !! Love the moody blue's ❤❤
I like the comments about playing songs from there “NEW” album. If only they had known then how timeless ‘The Days of Future Passed’ would be and what a landmark album they created. I have never known life without this album and these songs. I was born in the summer of ‘67 and have grown up hearing it, owning it and playing parts from it on my Harmonica. This album will out live me. I grow old, this album remains timeless and classic. Thank you for posting this!
I just looked at set lists from their concerts and Justin has been singing 'Tuesday Afternoon' and 'Nights In White Satin' in every concert since 1970. Not that this means anything but it just struck me how that must get, I dunno, numbing after a while ? A half century. And everytime I've heard him sing these hes always been spot on. I know, Jagger / 'Satisfaction' and so on but they are mainly flat out rock songs where no one would notice if he was off a little. Theres no 'being off a little' with 'Tuesday...', you better be on your toes. I only saw them live once back in the early '00's but no matter, I was so thrilled ! Great seats too, right up at the stage. I first heard them with Laine in '64. WHY am I rambling on like this ? I guess after all these years I still get psyched up listening to them, SO many memories !
Oh, how I love The Moody Blues. This recording is an invaluable treasure. It's almost difficult to watch, it's so incredibly good and intimate. Thank you for posting.
I hear you Gwen..I feel exactly the same....a beautiful and very uplifting group...I'm seeing John Lodge this March...can't wait! Peace,,,,and LOVE to all..... Namaste.
Gabriele -- John is a very good bass player, yes. Excellent singer?--- no. Passable at best. His vibrato is bad, his pitch is off at times, and he doesn't keep a good tone when going to the high register.
His lead vocal in Peak Hour from this video is one of his best I'd say, especially in the middle section, when he sings "I found ooouuut". Pretty great for learning how to sing while playing the bass...
You gotta admit, though, that Lodge's falsetto backing vocals really add something to some of the band's songs. His regular singing voice is weak: you'll notice they double his vocals with someone else a lot.
@@Magnetron33 was Wakeman able to fix à mk2 , hé did only back ground never fetched Pinder s solo like this one on peak hour .you re jokking!!!Moraz was incrédibly crap only doing circus music à la yes that why hé been fired.never able to write à pop song
So brilliant. Their music grabs you viscerally. This why people sought them out and bombarded them with questions wanting spiritual answers that they didn’t have anymore than anyone else. Thus: “I’m just a singer in a rock and roll band”.
Krischedler, actually Justin wrote Nights in White Satin in 1966, just a few weeks after he met his wife, which was only a few weeks after he joined the Moodies.
@@TallyRocky ... I have heard Justin go back and forth on how old he was, I think he forgets in his older age.. I would go with 20 years of age, since he joined the band in, I believe November of 1966 when he was already 20, and they started recording the album in the autumn of 1967 when he was 20, the album was released just over a month after his 21st birthday. In those days, the album was released almost immediately after recording... I know that both Pinder and Hayward speak about their interplay during the composing of the songs, so you know it has to be sometime Autumn of 1967. That would make Hayward almost certainly 20 years old when he wrote it... I suppose he could have had the song in his bag even earlier than 1967, so 19 could be correct.
I've never seen this vintage stellar footage of The Moody Blues. The quality is fantastic, film was well preserved. What a great year and era. Thank you kindly for posting this historic performance. Cheers!
Thanks for uploading this. That is really great quality for 1968.Everyone in the band sounds great. Mike Pinder's mellotron sounds like an orchestra. As others have said, John Lodge's bass playing is really spectacular. He plays effortlessly.
They are up and above all other musicians,,,and even to this day in 2021! No on can sing like Justin Hayward...and just look at this beautiful man...so easy on the eyes as well!
There’s a UA-cam clip with Justin and his beautiful daughter strolling about Stanford’s campus. Didn’t cause a stir. A lovely father/daughter occasion. Sorry, Doreme attended UCLA.
The first of The Magnificent Seven. This live performance is outstanding. I just wonder if they realised what a classic album this would become. Their songwriting and live performances make The Moodies the best band of all time. I’ve been a fan since I hear On the Threshold in 1972, aged 15.
Aside from Tuesday Afternoon and Nights, there is Peak Hour which has such a fantastic energy of it's own. Years before Queen or Pink Floyd came about, the Moody's had already created the sound! Liking Lodges contributions more and more... after 54 years of listening to them! Funny how in the beginning they were about Cover Songs and standards and then they became the standard. Never even sounded like The Beatles or Stones or any of the American Groups. Total thumbs up to this piece of history. Thanks.
Wow, didn’t expect this! That audience had no idea what they were seeing & hearing. Dumbed down and not even 2021 yet. 😉 one of the few most brilliant bands of the early 7Os, period.
Yeah, right John, it's all about Peak Hour & the sun being high in the sky! I went with my adult daughter 2 years ago for their 50th tour and heard them do the day "trip" theme for the whole show , along with Richard Burton videos narrating from "War of the Worlds" Started with Morning is the Day & ending " with Nights" What is really good about this is that it was very early & they weren't even into their "2nd" fame yet so had a gentle kind of home grown mannerism.
Thank you for the great video It's wonderful to see the Moodys and hear them live with Mike Pinder, my favorite keyboard player. What great songs they wrote and for the group to last longer than the Beatles but it took till 2018 to get the recognition they deserved. Didn't personally care for Patrick Moran as keyboards but thats my opinion, RIP Ray Thomas know you're no longer suffering and your in heaven playing in the great rock group in the sky
FYI, Patrick Moran's real last name is Moraz. I saw them on tour of "The Present" in 1984, and Mr. Moraz was playing 4, yes, FOUR, instruments at one time! Unfortunately for me, I never got the chance to see Mike Pinder in concert with the Moody Blues, as he'd left the group :-(( They ARE the best band in the world, ALWAYS have been!!
Mike Pinder pioneered the use of the Mark I Mellotron with the Moody Blues. He worked for the company that manufactured them. Unique and such a wonderful sound.
A trip back in time . Notice the lights in the lamp shade blinking off and on for special effects. Raw music , talent ,and innosense combined to change their destiny ! My Favorite Band - Cleveland Rocks !
Love love love this song. Thought I'd never see it live from this period. Hayward's badass solo even better than the album cut. And Tuesday Afternoon just fantastic. What awesome footage.
Oh people, comentstors, critics alike you all got the Moody Blues in one. A group years ahead of time, time which never caught up. From Merv an Brummie now 75 now in Traralgon, Australia.
WOW! Tuesday Afternoon (starts about 6 minutes)was just awesome to hear at this stage, then hear them say on a 45, lol and play nights. Band members must love coming on here to hear these and have it take them right back to the moment and think about what was going through their heads, must be very special to them. great video
Peak Hour live, amazing. Electrifying. The Mike Pinder's Melotron ( keyboard) awesome. For some reason this song always reminds me of my 12th grade Philosophy teacher. She gave me a ride home when I visited the school a year after graduating class of 1976. - Dave 1/20/ 2025
What a fantastic performance they gave. They were so young, beautiful, and full of life, passion, and energy. I have loved this band for many years as i grew up. 60s and 70s music is truly fantastic, but the Moodies cut deep into my psyche. Edge on the drums is amazing here, too. Pure power and a great tone. True 1960s vibe ❤
Nice to be here🎶 and lovely to see them again, my friends😉🤗. 🎶Time hurries on and days of future passed, but we are saved by the music of these moody Blue world veteran cosmic rockers 🎶and just burn slowly the candle of life, 🎶while got visions of paradise 🎶and fly high on Tuesday, a lazy day, through all the nights in white satin🎶, singing, shouting to the actors voices. 🎶Yes, and we know we are in balance 🎶and feel free in these strange times. 🎶Now let's watching and waiting for more reviews to feel so right and let's be thankful for their 🎶time traveller journey, cause every good boy deserves favour. 🎶I like the taste of the vintage wine🎶, it brings back memories which feels so fine. And I hope and pray, 🎶never comes the day that their music fade away. 🤗🎸🎤Rock on...
I absolutely love this video. Great musicians, not a great PA system at this venue or great audio-engineering support. However, the Moody's shine through the setbacks and seize the day brilliantly. I love the humour of more innocent days before the suits took over the music industry. Still one of my favourite bands of all time. Love these guys.
@@brendasmith1740 Hi Brenda, thanks again for the comment. I have always been a huge fan of the Moody Blues. If you have time, I would welcome any feedback on my cover version of "Voices in the Sky" .

Damn...hard to believe I was 10 when Days came out, and when I heard it in the 70’s the first time, I thought it was new, and I’m enjoying it every bit as much, this evening at 62. That is what timeless sounds like.
Oh Ray, what a lovely Brummie accent , that one of yours! And the dancing around... a classic. John Lodge and his falsetto. ... lovely video, thank you.
Love this this trio of classics! I so love how all these rare clips turn up on UA-cam! I especially enjoyed the banter over the technical difficulties. I even liked it where, toward the end of NIWS, the guys messed up a bit. Ah the joys of LIVE television. Today many acts play to prerecorded tracks and maybe only one guitar is actually "live." This was an honest performance with no tracks.
John Lodge sang the high falsetto that made Nights and so many other songs sound ethereal when drenched in reverb. Lodge was sleeping with the cameraman's wife, so that is why you don't see him much on camera.
At first I thought the Paris crowd was going to a hard to please. But after their bands introduction and first song, the audience warmed up a lot. I also see the drum kit for “Brian Auger and the Trinity” who must have shared the bill. Unfortunately, I feel Brian didn’t make it very big in the US. Even though they were special guests on the NBC broadcast of “33 1/3 Revolutions Per Monkee” TV special in April, 1969. So glad though that the Moody Blues kept going! One of the BEST bands EVER! EVER!!
1971 I saw the movie blues at the Coliseum in Denver, Colorado fantastic concert. I took a mind altering substance needless to say it enhanced the music greatly. All the memories
I think what is so interesting, is each of their contributions to the band. This is what makes the Moody Blues so great. Still listening in 2023!!!

Rest In Peace Ray Thomas. Thank You very much for the flute.
HE WILL BE MISSED!😪
It’s impossible to imagine Nights in White Satin without Ray’s flute.
@@luisdiaz3887 Norda Mullen does a great job, but she's not Ray.

No doubt about it.
Amen
I TOTALLY agree with you Christopher Conlogue !!!
I saw them in concert in San Diego, CA in 1972 and they were AWESOME!!!
The whole band is a gift to mankind!
Again, the word "underrated"..... they sold 70 million albums! how could that be "underated"??!!! explain!
@@sheryldeblinger1863 Yes!!! The whole band, not just Justin!
Their singles and LPs were top of the charts and here you are.
So true. So happy at what they where doing. Blessings. Thanks for all who share Moody Blues Pictures & Concerts. 🎶❤️😇👍
It's incredible to see how polished the Moodies were at this early stage. Their musicianship was impeccable. They obviously put great effort into this performance, exhibiting a professionalism that could not be denied.
Justin Hayward is so underrated. A really talented guitarist and great singer
who...lolz
@UCpnMdroxjzkUvnm5pqKtFmw he's a fucking idiot who is choking on the word underrated. To say that Justin Hayward is an underrated guitarist is like saying Elvis was never a "hipster."
No, Justin Hayward was never "underrated."
What makes you believe he's underrated?
Songwriter too. He wrote 95% of the music the Moody Blues sing and record.
I am 65 love these guys
I am.too 65now.
I never ever get tired of hearing Mikes Tron............................................
Yeah, the real Edge
RIP Graeme
He was a beast on the drums.
Yeah, those aren’t songs you can do playing to a click track… LOVE Graeme Edge’s drumming! RIP 🥁💔
Awesome “expansive,” thought in that vein of pre-existing reality & reaction.
👍👀👉🏼
....@ Stuart McAlpine
...My thoughts as well, the first time I heard The Moody Blues, ..I was in High School.
Born in 1968, I was listening to 60's music as a kid, I couldn't see the fuss over the overrated Beatles, for me The Moody Blues is "Where it's AT ! "
@@brianjones4026just lost our 8 yr old Basset Hound 3 days ago. I feel as you did months ago. Sorry for your loss of your loving dog. 😪
It is amazing how The Moodies are never really mentioned when discussing the best bass players, or guitarist or what ever. But they were and are excellent musicians.
I've got Pinder (mellotron), Hayward (vocals), Lodge (bass) and Thomas (flute) among the best ev-er. #Legends
I suggested Justin as a top guitarist on the ten top guitarists video, at least honorable mention.
@@kentclark6420 J-Hay deserves legend status beyond a doubt -- nobody wrote better love songs -- but top 10 guitarist is a yuge stretch.

@ John is absolutely amazing! The bass line for I’m Just a Singer surprised me with how good it was when I first heard it
I am 71 yrs old. I wish I could have seen them perform! Loved their music.
Tuesday Afternoon remains one of the biggest songs ever! 👏👏👏
I was 16 and fell in puppy love with a beautiful girl. We had a date on a Tuesday afternoon and I swear I listened to this song for the next 3 weeks straight that summer. Those memories are good ones!! (She found another beaux and I found another girl. Life goes on!)
The first Moody Blues album I ever heard was, “Every Good Boy Deserves Favour”, and I was immediately hooked! 100% fan for life!!
Totally agree Ken, have just discovered this amazing vintage video - WOW.
Right on, brother! Great band!
I've never seen this footage either. They were a really good live band even back then. Amazing video 😀
Amen 🙏
@@michaeljasinski1906 totally get it!
Can you imagine being there! Wow - I don't believe the audience realized (then) how exceptionally lucky they were!
The moody blue's are very deep! I'm 67 and have been listening to them since I was 16! I have all of the 8tracks and now all cds...these are the best of the best !! Love the moody blue's ❤❤
Saw them in 72 and 86. Love em. You ever hear Blue Jays ?
I like the comments about playing songs from there “NEW” album. If only they had known then how timeless ‘The Days of Future Passed’ would be and what a landmark album they created. I have never known life without this album and these songs. I was born in the summer of ‘67 and have grown up hearing it, owning it and playing parts from it on my Harmonica. This album will out live me. I grow old, this album remains timeless and classic. Thank you for posting this!
especially since Justin joined... His songs added the transcendent quality
To be fair, they all (apart from Lodge) dropped acid around that time. Pinder's songwriting totally changed as a result.
That took them in a different direction, that otherwise may not have happened?
Like “Alice in Wonderland,” adventurous & daring.
Think The Beatles.
Namaste.
@@mustangmikep51 that’s wonderful! How exciting.
And now I’m watching this again. Tears for Graeme. Peace and love.
John Lodge is an excellent bass player AND singer too
Gabriele -- John is a very good bass player, yes.

So brilliant. Their music grabs you viscerally. This why people sought them out and bombarded them with questions wanting spiritual answers that they didn’t have anymore than anyone else. Thus: “I’m just a singer in a rock and roll band”.
Great comment!
This clip is PURE GOLD! The beginning/birth of an AMAZING journey/ GLAD they took us with them!
Nights in White Satin was written by Justin Hayward when he was 17 and has proven through time to be a Classic of the Moody Blues !!!
Robert Walters actually he wrote it in 1967, he turned 21 on Oct 14, 1967.
Krischedler, actually Justin wrote Nights in White Satin in 1966, just a few weeks after he met his wife, which was only a few weeks after he joined the Moodies.
So sad Justin lost the copyright to Lonnie Donegan, if only it could be overturned!
Justin says he wrote it when he was 19.
I watch videos like this and think they were so prophetic. How could guys this young, in this time period, be so wise?
Fabulous clip of one of the best bands to come out of the 60s. Justin Hayward had and still has one of the greatest voices EVER!
This clip is priceless
Thanks for uploading this gem, what a magnificent performance. Thank you, Ray Thomas, for the joy your music brought and your legacy.
This is incredible, the musicianship, performance - unbelievable. Talk about chemistry among group members - top of the line.
Holy crap ! they nailed this live , great clip right from Pinder's remarks about the lack of audience enthusiasm at the beginning .
I've never seen this vintage stellar footage of The Moody Blues. The quality is fantastic, film was well preserved. What a great year and era. Thank you kindly for posting this historic performance. Cheers!
Probably first time listening without a joint in hand. So good!
Thanks for uploading this. That is really great quality for 1968.Everyone in the band sounds great. Mike Pinder's mellotron sounds like an orchestra. As others have said, John Lodge's bass playing is really spectacular. He plays effortlessly.
Definitely one of the unsung bass heroes. He and Justin have worked very well together.
Pinder was one of the few that actually played the Mellotron as intended.
Wow... that was fully live and a near flawless performance!

Tuesday afternoon is beautiful song, brings me back to my youth!
Thanks.
I’m in love with Justin! This is a special treat for us Moody Blues fans! Their music is so calm to the soul! Stay with us much longer!!
Wow! The Older Old Videos just prove how wonderful The Moody Blues are at any time!

It has been over half of a century but their songs are such timeless classic and beautiful music to enjoy.
This is an amazing performance from Them, especially Peak Hour was fantastic! Thanks for this great performance of "The Moodies"
Yeah, right John, it's all about Peak Hour & the sun being high in the sky!
I went with my adult daughter 2 years ago for their 50th tour and heard them do the day "trip" theme for the whole show , along with Richard Burton videos narrating from "War of the Worlds"
Started with Morning is the Day & ending " with Nights"
What is really good about this is that it was very early & they weren't even into their "2nd" fame yet so had a gentle kind of home grown mannerism.
So thankful this band stayed together and added John Lodge & Justin Hayward after Denny Laine left.

It's wonderful to see the Moodys and hear them live with Mike Pinder, my favorite keyboard player.
Very well said

Nobody came close to what Mike Pinder could do with the mellotron.
Wow, this is rare! Mike Pinder looks young!
Amazing, they were already very good then.
Mike Pinder pioneered the use of the Mark I Mellotron with the Moody Blues. He worked for the company that manufactured them. Unique and such a wonderful sound.

What a fantastic performance they gave. They were so young, beautiful, and full of life, passion, and energy. I have loved this band for many years as i grew up. 60s and 70s music is truly fantastic, but the Moodies cut deep into my psyche.
