I do not think I had ever laughed so hard watching a darts match as I did when I saw Gerwyn with the headphones
Although I've just posted criticising Price. I must admit, my initial reaction was to laugh as it is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen in darts. Alas, it ultimately backfired on a grand scale.

You could see after 1 set that Dobey had zero belief he could hurt MVG never mind win and so it played out. Only Smith can potentially challenge him but realistically he can’t keep the level for long enough over 13 sets if MVG is on it

As much as I like price he has brought so much on himself since that grandslam final but some of the abuse he suffered since then in the crowds and on social media I will not condone! As a darts player he's brilliant and has achieved so much in such a short space of time, it's so frustrating that a guy of his ability has to wind players and fans up with his antics when he should let his darts do the talking
He’s honestly a really nice down to earth bloke he lives not far from me and has a cafe called “ cafe 501 “ and he took an hour out of his day to teach the kids how to throw darts and had photos with everyone

It certainly was bizarre. Clemens was extremely dignified in dealing with the whole situation and emerged the moral victor. I wish him well for the remainder of the tournament.

Im shocked how well Clemens played, he was so so good and after that opening set from Price, it was just ridiculous from Clemens to win 5 sets in a row. MVG was scintillating, he wins this tournament all day long. Its hard to see past that honestly. I wanna see Michael Smith win the Worlds one day but doesnt seem like its gonna be this year coz even if he reaches the final, he gotta play way better and then hope that MVG drops his form coz MVG in this form isnt getting beaten.
Yeah MvG will need a stress injury at this point to drop this championship.

Couldn't agree more. Spot on. Mvg once again mind blowing. Clemens fair play for not being distracted because I can imagine it's not easy to suddenly see your opponent do something like that. And I also hope Smith can win it at some point. The one question remaining nog is who will be able to stop Mvg in this form? He's so good it's unbelievable.

Agreed. Van Gerwen is now a huge favourite. Michael Smith has been grinding out results and has not been anywhere near his top form thus far. On current form, Clemens is in with a real shout of beating Smith and reaching the final. I wish him well. I thought he handled the whole ear defender debacle with dignity and didn't let it distract him.

Gabriel is just a pleasant player and delighted for him to see everything click for him. He has a genuine chance of being World Champion solely as he's been consistent all tournament but improving game on game. With how Price fell apart in this game & how he's spoken on socials, could he end up plummeting down the rankings? Fair play to MVG as he didn't hang about either.

Clemens is playing darts of his life. What a scoring and composure while his opponent is making some weird steps with headphones and earplugs on the big stage. It will be really tough for Michael Smith to beat Clemens tomorrow. As a fan of Bully Boy I would love to see him in the finals and win the whole championship, but at the moment MVG looks too good. Let's see, what semi finals will bring us tomorrow.

Because they know how frustrating it can be. It is not that easy to ignore. Watch the first set Price played like a monster and he didn't disrespect anyone but he got booed anyways. When you are frustrated and playing for a big price it is not that surprising that someone can lose their cool and everyone that has played competitively knows that. Even MVG said that it is not as big of a deal as fans make it seem.
I imagine after kind of feeding this bad boy image for some years, Price has enough of this now

The thing about "bullies" is they can't take their own behaviour, from others (ie; The Darts Crowd). Price is now sulking at home after putting ludicrous Posts on social media. He's effectively saying, "...I'm gonna take my bat and ball and go home..." To state that he's considering never playing in the World's Championship again is a definite sign of a bully who has had their arse slapped by a bigger bully - That brilliant dart's Crowd. (This takes nothing away from Gabby's win. The bloke was an absolute sniper with his darts)

Gerwyn Price best way to turn around his reputation is to be humble and respectful on stage whether he wins or loses. A few incidents have labeled him as being an arrogant, disrespecrful bully and only a visible different approach will turn that around eventually. He should make a documentary about his personal life where he admits his own errors and vows to be different in the future. His darts should do the talking from now on.
Yeah but I think he cant help being a dick because.. well.. he is one. The van Barneveld game was a prime example. He should be humble then because barney didnt turn up. He played shit but still was prancing around an shouting and stuff. He is just a big ball of bad karma rolling around getting what he deserves.

He tried to meme his way out of trouble. Price said earlier that he has a Plan B and that was hearing protection. Well those foam earplugs are fine of course, but when he was trailing 3-1 and his tournament form had not improved, he thought: I'm going to do something weird to shake things up and distract my opponent. Out he comes with his ear defenders on to make a circus out of it. Totally ridiculous of course and the PDC allowed it as a talking point, because the matches weren't very competitive today. I'm really glad Clemens was able to regain his concentration, because he was distracted for a while at the beginning of that fifth set. Price always does everything to distract his opponent which is very unsporting and the PDC and Sky cheer it on or are very soft on it. The crowd booing him is of his own doing. Funnily enough the crowd even sang Price chants during this match, which seldom happens to him. So the crowd was actually quite positive towards him, only there were many Germans in there now, so the booing was a bit more intense. Entertaining: yes. Unsporting: totally. Price again made himself more unpopular with the bulk of the darting fans.

I'm a big darts fan but have never understood the hate Price gets, he is a really good player, I find it unfair the way he gets singled out by a lot of crowds... really hope he can bounce back and come back stronger, i will be rooting for him next season after that - that being said, congratulations to Clemens and MVG, brilliant performance from both!
He gets the hate from the crowd for being a complete tosser. Its not great for the crowd to do that but he makes it clear that he hates the fans and they hate the cocky little snot right back.

He's extremely unprofessional when it's his opponents throw. He comes across as an arrogant prick in every single interview (Phil Taylor was similar but at least he had the record to back up his swagger) but the most important thing is the other pros can not stand him. Says a lot about a man when the people closest to you hate being around you. I don't agree with anyone booing on a players throw but fans have seen for years how he behaves. If you want the crowd on side try being a decent human being first and foremost.

Price has always dealt with the crowds pretty well. I’m not sure he got it right here. Either that or he was just trying everything he could to get a bit of touch back. I hope he does carry on playing in the worlds…he’s a fantastic player and when those double 20s and double 10s are on point he’s right up there as the best.

Fair play to Clemens, I had several players in the 12-30 ranking spots that I thought could go far and he was not one of them. He's looking fantastic!
Also, MVG's standard is so high that he can look like he's not playing very well but then you look and he's averaging over a ton. It's partly how easily it's coming to him right now, compared to some players who might have dynamite shots/legs/sets but are uneven in others, Michael's just going along at a steady clip. Feels like every other visit is a 140.
Also shoutouts to Dobey, he's been really good the last few months and I'm glad he had a good run here. Just wish he hadn't run into MVG.

...today the losers in the quarters and semies matching Taylors level.........this is different era....back than was 5 guys who can average 95 on good days.....today have 50 .....and have 20 who can do 102-105 on good day......Taylor not come back for being loser 😀
