This was my first introduction to Aaliyah. I’ll never forget watching this video on MTV back in 1996 or possibly early 1997. I was like “who is this sexy, mysterious girl!!!???” This is my favorite Aaliyah song ever and I hope the “One In A Million” album goes to number 1 on iTunes and Spotify.
the album is already number one on itunes and it’s climbing on apple music! lets hope it does good numbers on spotify too
@@rodrigo_ribeiroo9 No Way!!! That's AWESOME!!! All us 90's kids are rooting for her.
Me too. Something so unique and unmatched.
@@rodrigo_ribeiroo9 So cool. Looks like those other artists need to spare a moment of silence.
It debuted at #10 on billboard
Aaliyah is a legend. She still has her own style, a true icon to music. Saying she is missed is an understatement. Gone far too soon. Much love, baby girl.
She was only 17 here! Amazing. The crickets on this beat >
*Timbaland said the record label wanted him to remove the crickets...I think tf not.* 😤
Imagine they didn’t want to play this song on the radio
Aha just noticed that. He was a genius
@@CoolForSale Yup… The label wasn’t going to release this song as a single if he didn’t remove the crickets. So Aaliyah, Tim and Missy snuck the record to a radio station and got it played, and it turned into a big hit!
@@sierramitchell5210This song was so left field with what was out during that time so it took radio dj’s to catch on and then the song blew up everywhere!!!!! I’ll never forget seeing this video on midnight love on BET!!! Anyone that grew up in the 90’s will know what I’m talking about. Midnight love was 🔥🔥🔥🔥
2024 where ya at??

Such a pity she died so young, yet she left a great legacy. Still listening to this, 2024
She's loved and missed! I still listen to her music in 2024 ❤
I saw a young woman, half my age, wearing an Aaliyah shirt. When she came into my register line at work, I told her that she had good taste in music. We proceeded to have a short but poignant conversation about Aaliyah, her music , how she was a trendsetter before her time and how much of a bigger star she would have become had she lived. When you have 2 women, from 2 generations talk, rave and long for more of the music. That’s when you know the truth and depth of her talent. She was indeed 1 in a million. RIP Aaliyah.
Rest in heaven

R.I.P Aaliyah (1979-2001)
the prettiest and the best female artist ever
That part
When Aaliayh was 17 she was creating great history when I was 17 I was crying over the last episode of my favorite show
I'm still shook at how young she was yet she looked like a whole adult, a grown woman..Aaliyah was so ahead of her time! I'm so happy we can finally stream her music legally everywhere.
We love and miss you babygirl, rest peacefully 💖🕊
It's 2024 and I still play her song, will forever love and listen to Aaliyah❤❤
❤❤❤
I'm 38 yrs old and still obsessed with Aaliyah. This whole album got me thru a lot of 13-14 yr old girl drama 🖤🖤🖤
You like good music that all.
Did u also cry when she passed I was like 14 😢
@RuthieandFamily Yes, it was sooo heartbreaking 💔
@@heezypeasy8611 I like you photo

I remember spending hours learning aaliyah choreography... her footwork was always smooth as butter. I miss you babygirl ❤ We will never forget you....
Nobody can touch Aaliyah to this day in the r&b, pop circle.
Mary j blige???
@@tloco1529 nope
Sorry Sade has any female beat in R&B
@@nc3015 Sade was nice into her heyday, just to relax, chill out music.
Beyoncé???
90s music is timeless. This generation would never understand. RIP baby girl Aaliyah 😔😔🙏🙏
🙏
They never will, and I was just a kid during this time
Unless they have old souls
So true!!!!!! 80's and 90's to be fair! Songs don't age very poorly, and not to mention different styles instead of everything sounding the same.
Right 🙏
She was the perfect woman. No one will ever convince me otherwise.
no lies detected
Me either
She was incredible
She really was.
No other song sounds as good in your car, with the bass turned up.
Literally just posted still one of my favorite beats ever made
41 year's old and I'll always come back for that 90's R&B. God rest her beautiful soul! ❤
Listen to my tape yo
Yo, I hate that Aaliyah's life was cut so short! She was truly becoming an icon. I wish we could've seen what her artistry would have evolved to. She had so much more potential. It truly saddens me 😢
Me too her birthday is a few days after mine I’m glad that I was able to see her in concert 1997
me Too, Me & Aaliyah r Both Born n January.💝
@@tiarawilliams8861 my bday's in January too, 1/7.🐐
Her signature anthem, and a super hot classic. 25 years later and this hit still sounds uniquely fresh. Missy Elliott & Timbaland created plain magic when working with Aaliyah. The beat 🔊
IT IS PROPHETIC NEXT TO THE KING
BRO BRO GENIUS FAST I GOT MIND OF LIGHT FAST 2 DO YOU LIKE OR LOVE PATIENT KIND STRONG FAM
COMING UP NEW DAY BLESSED GODS GLORY THAT HIS PEOPLE ARE MOVING FORWARD AND BEING FRUITFUL AND KEEP INCREASING 🙏
Yeah this beat doesn't get old at all, pure bliss then and now
It's between this and try again. Both still play to this day as if they just released.
@@mr.awesome6011 are you that somebody too. Those are her big 3 hits
Yup this is her signature song considering the fact that the fans sang this song at her funeral as her casket was being carried out.
Beyonce knew she could never top this woman . Thats why she’s not here
Stop believing in ridiculous conspiracy theories, it sounds ridiculous.
True we all know her and Vladimir Putin murdered her for beyonce
Stop it. They were fans of each other. They were in their own lanes. Aaliyah was always in her own lane even when it came to her group the"Aaliyah, Brandy, and Monica group." There was always enough room for all of them
Just wait and see what happens with the p diddy trial. Jaguar and katt aint lie yet

No one replaces mrs. Aaliyah. Original artist. We miss you.

Alright Gen Z, time to listen and take notes. This is how it’s done. RIP Babygirl
📝📝📝❤️❤️❤️
Take good notes to original teen queen.
I’m from gen z and this is one of my favourite songs
Gen z grew up listening to her you doof
I don't think you gotta tell generation Z that. Tell that to the new generation. They are lost into this mumbling "rap". These people are frying R&B. They trash. Just straight up trash.
Remembering her great music. January 16
1979-August 25 2001. Sing with Angels now Aaliyah.
Rip beautiful ❤❤
She had a lot of good songs..she is missed dearly
My mother named me after her, proud to share a name with this beautiful talented woman. Grew up listening to her, shame for her passing. Rest easy, Aaliyah.
truly one of the best r&b singers of the last 50 years.
No the best.
The most beautiful woman in the world
She sure was
Why can’t I find a female with this kind of passion to make a song with yet 😢
Because she was one in a million 😂
Aaliyah was so ahead of her time! She’s the epitome of timeless & classy! I’m so glad I was alive to witness her make classics! I have all her albums & movies!! A beautiful soul gone way too soon. Miss you Aaliyah!!! ❤️🕊
Beautifully stated. I totally agree.
i was a young adult when listening this into my headphones and appreciate the ...style and music
Same. So devastating.
She's a huge influence on my fashion sense today. I was born in '96, so I didn't really *grow up* in the 90's, but Aaliyah always feels like my home era.
Her harmonies with the beat is amazing. People sleep on her vocals just cause she has a sweet voice.
Her deep tones are untouchable
Yes, she does have some vocals on her. She made some nice note choices and placements with her ad libs. Generally speaking her voice is laid-back, but I have heard her sing a ballad or 2 before, and I'll just put it this way, she has more of a voice than people generally give her credit for.

Aaliyah was is and always will be the princess of r&b. No one will ever come close.
She is so naturally pretty omg 😍😍😍😍
Aaliyah really embodies the "she's an icon, she's a legend and she is the moment" phrase ✨
Aaliyah is forever🔥
everyone did this girl so wrong. may she rest in power.
The Queen of RnB!!! Rest in peace Aaliyah
Yes
This should have more views. Nobody has captured her vibe since.
This video has been uploaded and taken down so many times. There’s no true UA-cam metrics for this song because it never had an official upload until recently
It’s because this specific UA-cam channel video was released 2 years ago … if it been released beofore it would of been more views
Everything about this is so unique. I can’t quite explain it.
Sensual, classy, edgy all at the same time.
Today's youth WILL NEVER KNOW

We do actually
I remember when my mom and I got our first cd player she would sit cross legged on the floor all day listening to music and recording mix tapes for the car lol
