If the lightsaber isn’t a one hit kill in this show I won’t even be surprised
You do realize that a regular sword is more dangerous, right? And those can be rather survivable, depending on where you get hit with it, or even run through with it. I don't get why everybody is so mad about Sabine surviving getting stabbed. She didn't get hit in the heart, or lungs, or head. And even if it did hit the liver, it was an instant cauterization. Other than shock, just sucks. Qui-gon died because there was no way to get medical attention to him in time. Ahsoka and her ship would have supplies, as well as someone who's used to dealing with nasty wound like that. Plus she can get immediate evac to local medical facilities. There's no real point in showing it on-screen. All that's implied by having Sabine wake up in the hospital. They were trying NOT to insult the audience's intelligence by spoon-feeding them everything.
As for Reva, neither time she was hit in the heart. It's possible she knew enough of the Force to heal herself, or to keep herself going through pain and rage via something like Seethe. I imagine her would was also pretty close to the spine. Maybe there was damage to the subdominal aorta, but generally if you don't die immediately from a lightsaber wound, that's *cauterized*... you're probably going to be okay in the long run. Especially with the medical options available in the setting. Their medicine and medical systems far outstrip ours.

@@tearstoneactual9773 I feel like people are mad at this because a lightsaber was this weapon of destruction and elegance and letting a bunch of characters survive this would ruin it entirely I mean letting 2 characters live would be fine but letting a bunch of them live ruins lightsabers entirely
Well lightsabers cauterize the wounds they make so of the Saber doesn't destroy a vital organ like say a heart or lungs they one can survive even nasty injuries like limb severing.
weird. at our screening of Ep1 here in California, they showed that fight scene and then the new trailer directly after. HOWEVER, it did NOT show the villain at all. which is odd because the one online does.... lol

I watched the Phantom Menace on release day back in 1999. The Pod race seen was awesome on the big screen.
seeing all these people who got more detailed previews of fights saying how cool they were while the trailers never give us much of the fights is driving me insane
It looks okay, but we’ve had that before. It’s certainly. Better advertisement for that age of Star Wars than the novels that are out. The fight aesthetics are a little too like the matrix, but that’s just a personal preference thing. So long as the story is good I’ll be happy with it, because this story could matter a lot if they’re going to expand on this era of the universe. If you think how the originals set up the Skywalker Saga, and allowed George to go back and lay down what went before in the prequels, and then Dave Filoni got involved with the Clone Wars and Rebels, and then we had a bit of a misfire with the sequels, but they are now seeking to get back on track by going back and explaining the back story to the sequels to make them make some sort of sense. This is why the Mandelorian era shows are much richer in detail, because they have to be.

May the 4th be with you! I, too, went to The Phantom Menace last night, and yes, that extended cut of that already badass fight scene was even more badass. So, I have questions. The "Chosen One" prophecy. Who prophecized and when? Because if the Sith had "been extinct for a millennium", what balance was there to bring to the Force? Were the Jedi THAT arrogant?
Yoda wad around for almost that entire millennium. If he still bought into the prophecy, then he knew the Jedi would eventually fall. I'm starting to think that the higher ranking members of the Council were not as honest with the Order as they could have and should have been.

I both look forward to it, and yet dread it. I fear that Disney Lucasfilm will do it wrong. An acolyte is in the early days of their Sith training, kind of like a Jedi padawan. To me, the only Sith Acolyte worthy of a Disney Plus series would be Darth Zannah, apprentice to the legendary Darth Bane.

Hey I just subscribed can't wait to see this show as a huge High Republic fan I'm hyped to see how this era ends as it transitions to the prequel era I just made a theoretical connection between this and Ahsoka what if these dark side users aren't exactly following the ways of the sith but they're following Abeloth cause that smile on the helmet looked very familiar
I really hope we get some proper sith behaviour I don’t want Disney to make them behave like a jedi
Just because there are token things like lightsabers, Jedi and cool planets doesn't mean it will be good. I'm hopeful it will be but I feel like they put more emphasis on wow moments and fan service rather than focussing on key areas that make a story strong: screenplay, character development and critical stakes. If any of these are missing, it won't matter how many lightsabers are thrown up on screen. Andor has been the only SW show to get it right and I'm hopeful for the Acolyte, but the trailers have not won me over.
More of something called Star Wars that isn't and won't be watched by anyone except like this girl.
I hate how much anticipated hate this how it getting. I watched the trailer in the cinema and the chills I got was amazing. It looks like such a good show and the hate is so childish as it’s basically because it has a mixed cast.
I'm optimistic but this trailer was cheap looking.
I dont think it is most anticipated show, it looks weird 24K likes to 18K dislikes. Mando, Ahsoka, Bad batch was peak of Disney, I love them but this show will bury it :/
Don't use the downvotes as a sign of anything, most things gets downvoted in that channel by salty haters.
Also the "show dislike button" addon is unreliable, it often exaggerates downvotes because it can't keep up with the UA-cam updates.
People are just disliking something they haven’t seen.

Most anticipated from me. 🤷♂️ Star Wars dislikes aren't reliable to me because this fanbase is extremely toxic. A large amount of people already hate things that haven't been announced yet. Also, Andor was probably the least anticipated by most, and was one of the best things in the franchise. We'll just have to wait and see.
