Okay... not sure how I feel about the autism joker there because I am actually autistic, high functioning but I do still live with autism. You don't have to like Taylor Swift, I don't really care for her one way or another, but it's pretty low brow to equate personal taste in music to a mental condition someone has no choice to live with. Even if I were a fan of Taylor that still wouldn't justify the joke because Autism isn't synonymous with the word stupid, so don't treat it that way, please. I can't always pick up on emotions or grasp certain concepts the moment they're conveyed to me, but that isn't because I'm an idiot. My brain just doesn't always register something. That's probably why things like riddles can stump me. It's not a lack of intelligence, it's how my mind interprets information. When information isn't literally stated to mean exactly the words used to describe it, it's confusing. Ex: what has 16 wheels and flies? My mind would and did get stumped trying to figure out what kind of aircraft literally has 16 wheels. Turns out the answer was a dump truck because flies was a noun, not a verb. It still makes sense but my mind didn't immediately grasp the other concept. To be fair, that's the point of a riddle. However, my point about autism is that emotions and such can be just as confusing as a riddle, more so than the average person. It's a basic example, but it's the best way I can think to represent how a capable mind can reach a different conclusion from what's intended. And really, that's just one way autism can affect those with it. However, that does NOT imply a lack of emotional or intellectual maturity. It's simply a difficulty. Using autism as a synonym for stupidity or idiocy is basically like harassing someone for being left handed because they were born without a right arm. Autism is so much more complex than, "they just don't get it or don't understand," because autism is NOT a product of ignorance nor even naivety. It is a condition that people like me have to live with and while we can improve how we handle situations, it doesn't change how our minds work. We can be well read and knowledgeable, intelligent even, but no amount of learning will change our unique perception. Think of it like Elden Ring, there's no difficulty slider. You're stuck with the game as is, but you can change how you approach challenges within the game. Well, autism doesn't change within a person, but the person can develop strategies to deal with it in their life, but you can't perfect run, no hit life. Please, don't use autism a replacement for stupidity. It's insensitive and insulting. You can say people have trash tastes but you can't blame a mental condition for it.

I've watched much better with no budget amateur fan films. If they claim that Acolyte's budget was $180 million, there needs to be an investigation of where that money went, because it wasn't spent on the show.
@@jayc3715 Not a bot, and let's be very clear what you've done here - you've retreated into ultimate subjectivity. "Cheap sets and wardrobe" = are they? by what metric? "wooden acting" = by what metric? hard to argue with. "terrible pacing and storytelling" - by what metric? These are your claims, so tell me, how are they falsifiable? Claims are false by default, and while I'm charitable in dispute, I'm not *that* charitable. Also FFS there are plenty of bad lines in the show, "unidentified force user" isn't one of them. Strange though how all of these braindead negative posts seem to know the show has a 180m budget. Almost like I'm talking to a bot.

9:23 She freed the criminal because the show wants you to believe so badly that she is a good person despite her “unique circumstances.” They want you to say, “Look at this poor girl! She did something good and immediately got taken advantage of! This should make you overlook the fact that she killed a Jedi and is a POS!”
I mean. this show’s writing is beyond embarrassing
She deep knowledge.... of where the bodies are buried, so to speak.
She wasn't a dumb assistant for 4 years, she probably kept a black book which she is now using to her advantage. How else can you describe giving this nobody the reins of an entire franchise...
Acolyte, to me, is simply derivative of ideas and story elements done better in other Star Wars moveis/series. Occupational Safety and Health Administration trying to prove her innocence is akin to Ahoska's Arc during season 4/5 in Clone Wars (can't remember exactly which one). Her also having a long lost twin and them being connected to the Force, like Luke and Leia. And them both being created using the Force....like Anakin. And showing that the Jedi are not as perfectly good as one may think...like the prequals, I could go on. My point is that, all the latter versions of the examples I gave that are present in the Acolyte, are done with actual grace and competency. The Acolyte comes off as a show simply praising the idea or concept, without taking into account the execution
The Clone Wars sucks
@Martnmaceda you realise simply stating something, isn't enough to convince that others agree?
There's no way Headland didn't know or see shit. She probably did, and has dirt on people, and that's why she got the directing role haha.
Well she was the assistant of Weinstein dude must have had friends joining him in his “activities”…
I bet she watched everything from a cracked open closet door elbows deep in herself, fantasizing she was the one with the Schwartz 😂😂😂
ong she probably blackmailing someone at disney
Don't worry, I noticed the transition from the MIB Neuralizer back to you. And I appreciated it. Well done.
Anyone else get the notion that Leslye's production credits read more like a series of oddly specific incidents one might have experienced or instigated while working directly for Weinstein? That's quite a coincidence!
7:20 if some comes and tell me my own life story.. I'd ask them "why the hell are you telling me things I already know about myself??"
The Haribo-witch with the "Lakritzschnecke" (black licorice wheel?) on her forhead allways amuses me.
They killed the X-Wing and Armada tabletop games. I'm officially done with Star Wars in its entirety.

I was going to ask why Disney doesn't make a Mon Mothma show if they are so obsessed with 'strong female characters', but then I realized that she's the exact opposite of what Disney wants from their 'strong women'
She has a role in Andor, the only decent SW show
@@andynowicki4532shame that she was forced to play second fiddle to a FAR less interesting character...
If we lived in a just universe, the creators of this show would be making nothing more than a few cents per watch of their terrible content and Jonny Law would get $180 million for that awesome napalm joke. Alas, we do not live in a just universe.
I would have never imagined Disney could make such terrible descisions one after another. Awesome company Bob.
Everytime I feel stupid; I compare my decisions to Disney, and I feel a LOT better. 😂
I've been waiting for this. I can't believe we have makeup this bad 10 years post gamora.
Bad make-up. Bad wigs. Bad acting. My eyes are burning!
The Star Wars makeup was better at my friend's 5th birthday party back in 2004.

They made not only anakin the chosen third, but also made plagueis look like a moron
Chosen one retcon to Anakin was an awful decision from the start
@@russianoverkill3715 It was always Anakin though. Anakin technically brought balance to the force when he left things at two sith and two jedi, and from the jedis view of balance he did by "killing" the emperor in Return of the Jedi. Which got ruined when they brought him back in Rise of Skywalker, which was dumb.
Agreed. The hole point of Anakin going to the darkside was to find a way to use the force to save Padme. He was told Plagueis found a way to use the force to make life and stop death, but some how this coven has a women who just did it with no problem and it made twins? Like what? Such bad writing.

Only Headland would need 3 chapters to find an a-hole, and all she needed was a mirror.
That witch edit almost made me choke on my food.
Headland stated once that she used to write Star Wars fan fiction when she was a teenager. Clearly she just copy + paste it and pretended to have a writers room (with people who never saw or read anything SW)...

Okay... not sure how I feel about the autism joker there because I am actually autistic, high functioning but I do still live with autism.
You can say people have trash tastes but you can't blame a mental condition for it.
well written
It’s not even a good Leia tattoo. Like, would even guess that was Leia without her telling you?
The part of Anakin destroying the Deathstar really made me lol

Has anyone here actually watched the show? I’m really… reeaally not getting the hate. As a die hard and devout Star Wars fan, I do not understand what is SO wrong with the Acolyte. I just finished watching it with my wife and we throughly enjoyed it. This was despite the fact that I was constantly hearing nothing but negativity and genuinely didn’t have high hopes for it at all. In fact, I fully expected it to be bad. And when it wasn’t, I still wanted to believe the fandom and think “no no, the bad will come soon. It must. They all hate it so much that it’s been canceled” and I was thoroughly surprised and delighted to find out that it’s just Star Wars. I’m so confused. Why is it bad. Give me one reason that isn’t answered by just watching the full show.
Bad writing, directing, acting, reshoots, and the budget of 180 million is all you need to hear. Just get a better Star Wars material.
