    Definitely someone who has done this for hours.
    I really felt you mastered the technique.
    Thank you 😊
    I have watched a few videos and this one was most informative with tips.

      Oh yeah I was just marveling at how he never broke the original string mine comes apart constantly 😂 it takes a lot of practice to get this good, he makes it look really easy.

    Still the best. Especially teaching nostepinne wrapping.
    Just wrote a short information paragraph for our newsletter, and added your address on UA-cam. And I really liked storing and rewrapping for neatness and efficiency. Thanks a million!!

    Clear explanation and demonstration. My Dealgan arrived yesterday, and my attempt to spin last night was failure even though I watched another's UA-cam demonstration twice prior. Between this one of yours and another video of drafting of the fiber, I think this evening when I get home I will be able to do better. Excited to try!

    Im new to spinning! And I bought my first dealgan at a fiber festival I went to with my aunt. I'm excited to learn and figure it out so I can easily spin my own yarn. You make it look so easy

    You're the Best! Great explanation on how to do the spinning, attaching, making a leader, winding on as for nostepinne, and reasons for whatever. Loving this video!! Thank you!!

    Great demo! I see the improvements you have made since this one - seemingly small details, but a purposeful evolution. This spindle is great because you can use it anywhere, sitting, standing, even in small places - you can treat it like a support spindle by sticking it under your arm while you draft.

    I've watched many drop spindle tutorials, this is the first spindle that makes sense to me. I see in the comments mention of a new design and perhaps a tutorial for it, I will take a look. Thank you for sharing your art.

    Dude, you make it look easy. I just started spinning about 2 years ago on a wheel. I have several hand spindles and just made a Dealgan, from a bottle brush tree limb. I'll take some pics when I get it all sanded nice. Joe

    Great to see a man spinning, especially while wearing a macho "this guy needs a beer" shirt! Is there any particular advantage to the dealgan, over other drop spindles? I'm finding it really fiddly, having to half hitch the yarn every three or four feet, and sometimes it pops out of the half hitch. I'm used to spinning on a drop spindle, supported spindle, and wheel. I don't know if it is just that I am new to this tool, but it isn't going smoothly at all!

    This is so informative & exactly what I need to use the new spindle I ordered from you. Thanks for making such a helpful video. I have just one question: have you ever tried plying on the fly on this kind of spindle? In any case thanks for this information.

    How old are jellybeans/dealghans? What's the first archaeological evidence of them being used, do you know?? I could Google it for myself, of course... Nice tool, good demo, thanks for your videos :-) K

    My dealgan does not have a cross at the bottom. Any suggestions?

    • @SnyderSpindles
      @SnyderSpindles  4 роки тому

      I’d use 2 half hitches to hold the single. It’ll take the weights off the cop.
