Cutting angle : 50 Blade ; 3/8 (T) O1 TOOL WOOD : RED OAK,MAPLE,LACE WOOD *The big planes are too wide, my hands are small and very uncomfortable, (width:3 inch)
Dear Sir, Watching the creation of such high calibre work is so much more rewarding than a Hollywood block buster movie. An absolute joy to witness the birth of a new implement made with such passion & such efficient results. Must be very uplifting for you to see you've succeeded. Exceedingly well done as always. Kind regards.
Once again a couple nice planes . A little trick for the next time you cut these irons . If your bandsaw has the height, stand the metal up build a jig “ if you want “ or freehand it , but cut the angle in it from the start ! Saves on grinding and if you plan on marketing 2 or more blades the next one already has an angle cut in it . Learned that when I made a bunch of wedges for log splitting

I'm 16 and you inspired me to make this hand plane but a cheaper one,my equipments kinda poor for me so this is the equipments Hammer Drill Plywood 2by2 wood scrap Steel blade from a old chisel Hack saw and cross cut saw Chip breaker is wood And the bar concrete nail I know it's cheap but I'm poor
Two beautiful tools. Is there nothing this man can't do? You, Sir, are a marvel at what you do and a delight to watch. I have always wanted to make a Kanna plane and now I have a step by step video to watch. I have never seen a chip breaker that stands away from the cutting blade. Is that your own design or just one I haven't seen yet? Thank you for a great tutorial.
I didnt catch it I don't guess but what is the bed angle on these? Beautiful planes as always...i want to make a set of these for my wife I think she will like the pull method more than push.

Thanks so much for sharing this inspirational and informative video. Great knowledge is inherent to what you shared and lots of experience in how confidently you did it. Do you do a lot of sports or martial arts, as your reactions are quite fast and tuned?
Do you prefer the Japanese style planes or the western style? I have watched you make several and I was just curious. You got a new subscriber after the first video of yours that I watched. Your craftsmanship is amazing and your videos are a joy to watch.
great work👍, i have so much fun to watch this video. when you quench the steel, what kind of oil did you use( i assume you used oil rather than water since it is O1 steel basd on the description)? did you also temper the steel of quenching it? Thank you!
I must admit that this fellow always does top quality accurate work whatever he is doing.

Always a pleasure to see your work. An artist for sure.
Very good! Exceptional!
I wonder if you can make a plane using only hand tools:)
Nice plane, but seems like a lot of effort in making those shavings in pine.
Very beautiful planes and a great job building them as well

How did you know the mouth opening?
what type of steel do you use for the blade? is high speed steel (HSS) good for hand plane blades?

Nice homemade tool!!! *MOUNTAINEAGLE*
Beautiful hand planes.
Mark
Absolutely stunning!
Super👍👍👍
I looked at many video like this one. I am wondering why are you making this angle on the blade ?
Very nice!
Another great plane :)
Impressive! For us novices, it would really help if you added commentary.
Did you make the body at 25 degrees and the blade ground at 25 also to get to 50 ?
This is a bevel down plane, So the bed angle is 50 degrees What you say is established when you are a Bevel Up plane
You have done again two more beautiful planes to your collection how many hours did it take you to complete this latest master piece
Beautiful. 👍🏻

At what degree blade was installed???
👍 Great video as usual ! 👍
I want this how much cost
Ma shaa Allah! Keep it on :)
Hand planes, they fascinate me and I don't understand them at all!
