What's next? Head Banger Legend 1997 for more epic crowd reactions and just remember, the song ain't over until the skinny girl bangs the gong. In Road of Resistance Su Metal was 17 years old and parted a 20,000 crowd like Moses and the Red Sea. Know any other 17 year old girls who can do that? Herman Li and Sam Totman from Dragon Force co-wrote the song and performed on the CD version. Baby Metal have joined them on stage to perform this song at their concerts. I am VERY looking forward to your sister Amy doing some Baby Metal reacts.

@@nznegativeions Seriously you're applying corporate business practices to a culture on which I'm guessing you've done little to no research. I can't pretend to know anyone's true intentions, but by everything I've read about this band, Kobametal (the producer/concept originator) has the utmost passion for metal music and respect for the girls/band. You can shit on that idea all you want, but if you're doing it based on a whim and without anything to back up your reasoning, you're just adding to the ignorant cynicism that most people supply to the internet. I'm not even trying to insult you, I get why you'd think the way you are. I even thought that way before. But after learning a lot more about the band I see just how much the guy who created this cares for the project and everyone involved.

The most amazing thing is how they command the crowd with only 17-15 years of age thats outstanding... Please react to more Babymetal man, Ijime Dame Zettai live in sonisphere 2014 is a great one! These girls start when they are just 10 and 12. When this live concert recorded, they already 14 and 16. Can we do that when we in that age? These song real meaning is the support of Herman Li and Sam Totman for them. If I not wrong, this song was written back in 2012-2013..

Next up, their most important performance outside of Japan, their breakout performance of Ijime,Dame,Zettai - Live at Sonisphere 2014. The music was arranged/writen by Herman Li & Sam Totman from Dragonforce. When they wrote it they thought they'd never have to play it so made it really hard to play, then in later in 2015 Babymetal picked up an award at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods awards and the Kami band had to go home, so they asked Dragonforce to be the backing band and they played Road of Resistance. They also played as guests with Dragonforce for one song at Download in 2015.

Ijime Dame Zettai!!! You must react to this next. It's their first festival outside of Asia and their first exposure to unsuspecting metal heads. They were originally scheduled for a smaller side stage and were upgraded to the main stage at the last minute, where Anthrax and Iron Maiden were to headline. So needless to say, no one really knew who they were except for a handful of Japanese and western fans that followed them there. By the end of the set they had won over the crowd and had them shouting for more. Check it out.

"Ijime, Dame, Zettai" @ Sonisphere 2014. It was arguably the most important performance of their career. Instead of performing in front of a few thousand dedicated BM fans on a side stage they were thrown onto the main stage last minute to perform in front of tens of thousands of hardcore heavy metal fans that had never even heard of them in the birthplace of heavy metal. By the end of their set, finishing with "Ijime, Dame, Zettai", they had won the hearts of those in attendence. I believe that it was that very performance that catapuled them into metal stardom and solidified them as a true metal act.

Slipknot, System of a down, Disturbed, Static X to name a few as well as some BIG names I never thought I would ever see, Pantera, Judas Priest, Slayer, Manson, Korn, Primus, Zombie, some of the best times in my life without a doubt

Another excellent, thoughtful and well considered reaction and analysis. You are right, this song is more about the feeling behind it, the show, the performance and getting the audience involved. The song itself obviously isn't bad, but it is nowhere near their best or most memorable.
Next I would have to go with 'Headbanger' from Legend 1997 or 'Megitsune' from the Budokan live (Red Night or Black Night - both were great).
If you want more shock factor, especially if your sister is with you, 'Iine' (not Line, the first letter is a capital i). For a Su-metal solo plus showing off the Kami Band 'Rondo of Nightmare' with the Mischiefs of the Metal Gods intro.

This version of this song with the extended wowow sing-along section in the middle was the third or fourth encore at the end of an hour and a half long concert. Every song has unique choreography. And after hour and a half of singing, dancing, and running around that huge arena stage with the catwalk bridge, the girls don't skip a beat, don't miss a step, all the way to the final "See You!". The amount of training, planning, and stamina their performance must require is beyond my comprehension.
    Always more BabyMetal forever! :)

      This is anthem exactly.
In lyrics, there are few songs in babymetal with using the word "bokurano"; in english "our" which is the first person plural(or singular).
Other songs are the one and tales of the destinies. That's all.
      Bokurano resistance means our resistance.
      This song is truly anthem.

You are correct about hearing a Dragonforce influence in this song. That's what the Dragonforce mention refers to: Herman Li and Sam Totman from Dragonforce collaborated with BABYMETAL for this song, writing the guitar arrangements for it. It is, therefore, a typical fast and technical Power Metal song. If that's not your thing, then I can understand that it's "a bit much" for you. And, of course, your honest opinion is appreciated.
You're also correct that, apart from the song, the performance as a whole and from the girls especially, commanding a crowd like that - at ages 17 and 15 then - is a big reason why fans recommend this particular video.
I'd love to see your sister react to BABYMETAL and I'm looking forward to your next BABYMETAL reaction video! Cheers & rock on!

Since you like this type of metal (this is very power metal) I recommend you some stuff.
Go for Babymetal - Akatsuki (live). It's also fast but it's way more traditional than the songs you reacted to date, beautiful and powerful. Road of Resistance is one of their most famous but I kinda agree with you, I don't think is one of their best.
React to "Awakening" from Unleash the Archers (studio version, not so many good quality lives from them), it's power but it's a bit harder than average and still fast and crazy. Front woman, amazing singer, and she hit those notes, but again, not good quality lives out there on YT.
And bonus. If you like spliting the crowd react to "Consing to Oblivion" by Epica, live at the Zenith. That band, and that song, mix the beautiful parts of symphonic metal and the growls from death metal. Hits hard and I know you like hard stuff.
    Keep it going, man!

This song is tailored around these engagement with the crowd, it's often used to close their performances, but in the Tokyo Dome Red Night (the first of those two dates), in front of 55.000 they actually opened the concert with RoR, that's how much they were confident. Indeed the connection between them and their fans was so thight that night, that MOA almost cried right at the beginning and SU herself was astonished.

"That's what 20 thousand people sounds like."
I've been to concerts of over 70 thousand, and it didn't look/sound like that (I know, indoor acoustics vs outdoor, but some of those bands were Metallica, Scorpions, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, all at their peak.)

Dying the eastern sky true red,
    the light of signal fire
tells the end of the darkness of solitude.
    It’s a new guidepost.
Even if you are crushed, again and again,
    burn your flame of heart!
Now is the time! Is the time!
    This moment right now.
Is the time! Is the time!
    Living together.
Just now is the time! Is the time!
I sing for the you of tomorrow.
    Now the time has come.
Go for Resistance! [Resistance!] Resistance! [Resistance!]
    Wow wow wow wow wow.
    Our hearts are one.
If you believe in your way,
go on even the way without a path!
    Forever! [Forever!] Forever! [Forever!]
    Wow wow wow wow wow.
In the depths of our heart,
the hot Metal spirit is burning.
    It is our Resistance.
    Wow wow wow wow…
    As long as life continues,
I will never turn my back to reality.
    Today makes tomorrow.
Yes, it’s our future. On the way, [ah.]
    Resistance! Resistance!
    Stand up and shout! [Shout!]
    Justice forever!
If you believe in your way,
go on! The answer is here.
    Forever! [Forever!] Forever! [Forever!]
    Wow wow wow wow wow.
In the depths of our heart,
the hot Metal spirit is burning.
    Our Resistance.

Good and fair reaction Drew. You were wondering about the band after your second reaction video so this one show cased them a lot more than other songs. Thats why it was recommended i think.
I love the song it being the first one from BM that i came across. Its one of the most powerful live performances i have ever seen on video at least. I can't think of anything else where 3 teenagers take total command of a crowd that size.
I'll vote for 'Headbanger' Legend 1997 next.
Their song 'Distortion' from Download 2018 is worth checking out to see how a European/UK crowd reacts. Bit of an image change for them in that one which should be interesting to watch and get your reaction to.

Yeah, members of Dragonforce took part in writing and recording this one, and one other song from "Metal resistance" album. You can clearly hear that on both songs.
Also, I have to agree with all those people suggesting that you check out Sonisphere 2014 performance of Ijime, Dame, Zettai. The crowd there wasn't exactly "friendly" - they had no idea who BM is. "IDZ" is the last song of the set, it's fun to watch the effect that three wee girls and four kickass musicians had on a hardcore metal crowd (known to literally bottle the acts that do not impress ;) ). Do it!

I felt the same about DragonForce the first time I heard them. After a few listens they grew on me. The same with Angry Monkeysteam (Yngwie Malmsteen). It took a bit for me to get into him. But after I did I love his music. By the time I heard Road of Resistance it didn't need to grow on me. I like the song because there is so much going on that I get something new out of it every time I listen to it. Perfect song to to use as the finale.

Excellent Reaction! Like watching the involuntary smile slowly start to show. 🙂. You and Amy should consider reviewing Megitsune MV, iine! live at Budokan, Doki Doki Morning MV, Yava, Awadama Fever. You could always see how she reacts to Karate or Gimme Chocolate. Their ballads are good as well: Akatsuki is a really pretty song. Or blow her mind with Tales of the Destinies live at Tokyo Dome.
