I always feel pain at my lower back when doing cobra stretch. Should I continue doing it

@@AdebayoOluwakemi-x9n definitely not! There are a number of reasons for this and it’s best to see a physiotherapist in person.
In the video I suggest the modified version and also show a standing version. However, if they both continue to hurt, stop doing it and focus on the other stretches to loosen up the joints - particularly stretches in my 2nd video. You may find that a few weeks later you can do the cobra without pain after consistently focusing on the other stretches as this lengthens the muscles around the spine and also restores normal joint biomechanics (movement).
If pain persists, go see your physiotherapist for an assessment as you likely need hands-on treatment to get the stiff joints moving. Also the physiotherapist should be able screen you and tell you the right plan of management and give exercises tailored to you that DONT cause pain 🙂

Heyyy... i have a back pain problem from 2 3 year but when i eat all the meals properly it alwayz gets disapper..and my age is 22 and since 3 4 month it's getting serious i mean if i sit for more than 2 min i can't directly stand straight it takes time and sometimes automatically it hurts while moving. But whenever i do stretching it hurts less but the problem that i have while standing is not being helpful.. can u suggest me something?

@@ashrasiddiqui7730 that’s very common when you’ve left your back pain for too long.
Keep doing your stretches but also add *core exercises* to your daily routine. If you have weak transversus abdominus & multifidus muscles, then your back has little support when you’re standing or sitting and all of the pressure will go to your spine, discs and nerves that exit the spine.
Check out my absolute beginner core exercise video 🌞
*Most importantly* seek professional advice from a physiotherapist & doctor if you can, to rule out dangerous things that can cause back pain - like cancer in the spine, kidneys etc.
Back pain caused by cancer will hurt even when you’re laying down at night to sleep. I don’t mean to scare you, but this comment is also for anyone else who is reading this.
UA-cam is great but it doesn’t replace seeing a health professional and getting proper assessments done ♥️

this is really helpful! I got lower back pain on the left side (just above my butt cheek), I think its called the "latissimuss dorsi" anyways, that's just from looking at google images, that's the location. Standing, walking, sitting, lying down. It all hurts. The stretching helps but do you think aquepuncture or cupping will help? I have had this pain for the past 3 months. It went away for a while but I also think my mobility was lost a bit in my left hip cuz of it. Yesterday I did a wrong movement and now the pain is back! fun times.

Hi Blizzard! Thanks for being my first ever comment on Physio Workouts! I’m so excited! 🎉🎈
Your problem is extremely common! It’s most likely the border of the quadratis lumborum.
I’ll be making a video of how to self massage that in the near future. But for now, get a tennis ball or massage ball - lay on your back with your knees bent and feet on the floor, roll off the painful left side and place the tennis ball under the sore spot and then lean onto it. For extra pressure you can hug the left knee to your chest.
My next video coming out this week will go into further depth with stretches and may help you too.
Thanks again for your message! You made my day 🥰

@physiojules wow that's really helpful!! Thank you thank you!!!!!! Looking forward to the next video. I also think the UA-cam algorithm gods are being nice to your channel as it was the first to pop up when I looked for lower back pain stretching. Thanks
