Never took a cruise before, going on our first cruise in may. When researching for our cruise, i automatically ruled out Carnival. Anytime you hear about something happening, you know it was on a Carnival ship. Fights, drugs, whatever. Not what I want for a vacation. They have a horrible reputation.
This was the point of the video, thanks for sharing. They don’t have a good image right now, but I do have to say I enjoy myself every time I am on carnival.
The truth is that it happens on all ships. I think Carnival’s popularity and reputation is why these incidents get so much publicity when they happen on Carnival. Ultimately, these incidents are very rare. It may happen slightly more often on Carnival, but you are still unlikely to run into it.
We are a Carnival Cruise line family, Ive been on 12 cruises...And I found it to be more like what you're describing on the 3 and 4 day cruises out of Miami. We take 5 and 7 day cruises from Galveston Texas and never had any of these issues. We always had a great time with all people no matter the color of their skin. Now I do agree they need younger influencers to profit more...I say all that to say this...Carnival is a great cruise line, and the only people calling it those names are the people who dislikes black people. Good video..Stay posting my friend.
I enjoy Carnival whenever I’m on their ships, I think their reputation is caused from a few bad incidents but the company just don’t really address them in any PR statements.
just got off a carnival cruise a couple months ago, which was my first in 7 years. Had a great time that wasn't much different than the one I took years ago. Tons of food and fun. Of course there are people you want to avoid, but they are on every cruise line and you can easily avoid those people.
Carnival was founded so families could cruise together. The only time I witnessed someone so drunk he couldn't sit in his seat in the MDR was on a RCCL cruise ship. Celebrities don't make me want to have one product over another.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Carnival been sailing with them since 2010 and have never had any issues with 28 cruises and counting. I've sailed 3x on Royal, and I dont care for the stuck up guests and dtaff. Carnival is the funship with awesome staff and customer service💯💯💯💯💯💯
This was a great commentary! I agree with almost everything you stated. I first sailed with Carnival on the original Celebration in 1987. I have been on over 45 cruises with various lines. Each cruise line that I have sailed on has been slowly changing for what I believe is toward the negative since the mid 2000s. After the covid shutdown I have only sailed on Carnival, Princess and Holland America. After the shutdown they have each accelerated the cutbacks and charge for more that used to be included. I have seen the biggest dip with Carnival. You were spot on with your comment about the drastic decline with Carnival's customer service. Their food at one time beat all expectations. Now it's hit or miss and not as good as it once was. The overall service has declined in all facets while the price for a cruise has continued to rise. I am tempted to try MSC and have my first cruise scheduled on Margaritaville At Sea on the Islander this November. Carnival, as well as other lines have cut back on staffing levels and have burdened the existing staff with more and more work. And saddest thing to say, the Carnival clientele has gotten more trashy but in retrospect, so has our society! I don't believe a change out of celebrities will make a big difference. They need to restore their quality in service and food. There is still a place for Carnival. They do many things right.
Thanks for all the sharing David, it was super insightful especially talking about the golden years of cruising! I think if you like Princess and Holland MSC would probably not be your favorite unless you do yacht club.
These tag lines sound pretty racist if you ask me. Carnival just happens to be one of the cruise lines that has continued to stay affordable as an all inclusive for families and groups to take a vacation where most other places have priced people out.
There's nothing racist about economics, Carnival draws in the people like you've said that are priced out of other vacations. Color has nothing to do with it, could be white trash, black, or Asian they are unruly compared to most other cruise lines. Again I like Carnival, this is literally me passing along info from news articles.
@@BoatBreakersNJ I didn't mention you specifically, the terms "ghetto" and "section 8" are repeatedly used in a way to identify as inherently black, which is what I meant when I said tag lines.
For me, it depends on who I am cruising with. I like to go Carnival is I'm with my friends ready to party all cruise. On the other side, I'll cruise RC if I am with my family for the shows!
I am really surprised that you would take such a negative view on the whole cruise line. Do you think that looked at all of their ships that the problem is just with the larger ships?
I think Carnival has much more issues on its older ships. The older ships command much lower prices and attract a bargain basement crowd. Carnival has too much debt to replace the ships and the issues with these ships is not just deferred maintenance but also they are out of style. Refurbishing these ships to the same standard as their newest ships would help tremendously, but would be very costly. They can’t afford to do that nor can they afford to take the ships out of commission for several months to do the refurbishing.
Soooooo let me get this straight. Carnival is responsible for the fights and other aggressive behavior that the passengers display???? As much as I have cruised, I've sewn the same things happen across several cruise lines...even the luxury lines. How about you go after the passengers and not Carnival.
We've taken a break from ccl in favor of celeb & princess..better food, service & nicer ships.. the only 1 booked is the old costa venitzia .. Love the look of its decore.. 🇮🇹. This like saying Delta in trouble cause of the drug sniffing dogs and few fight onboard 😂… Carnival isn’t going anywhere! People who love to cruise love Carnival and all the rest of the lines for that matter. Just depends on the type of vibe your looking for that determines the type cruise.
I just came back from carnival Celebration and i wasn't to thrilled of it. The buffet was the same everyday same goes as dinner, not to much selection. Drink package was not good
I am so confused. You are comparing Carnival to Princess but Carnival owns Princess, Holland America, P&O . MSC is known for being short on workers and poor customer service but you get what you pay for, Royal debt is 10 mil cheaper and passes on all costs to the customer. If you think I will cruise on the boat with roaches (there are videos of the roaches on top deck in public areas so only lord knows their roaches in the kitchen) over Carnival, you and your
I'm glad to hear that you've had positive experiences with Carnival! The purpose of the video was to highlight areas where some customers have had issues, in hopes that these can be addressed and improved upon. It’s great to hear different viewpoints, and your positive feedback is valuable.
We are not in a recession. Cruise ships are full on every line and commanding more and more for cruise fares. I agree that bad publicity is going to become a problem for Carnival eventually. It hasn’t been a problem so far because there is so much demand. Charging higher prices and sailing their ships less full would help solve a lot of the issues they are currently experiencing, but their product isn’t good enough to charge higher prices and with their relatively cheap fares and high debt load, they can’t afford to sail their ships less than full. Carnival’s pricing isn’t undercutting the competition much if any. I would argue that Carnival nickels and dimes less than their competitors and what they charge for non included extras tends to be more responsibly priced. So I still believe Carnival is a better value than its competitors. Unfortunately, for Carnival in order to keep their market share when the economy does slow down, they are going to have to undercut their competitors more.

Not Carnival’s fault, but they could enforce the policy’s like fining people and banning people that they implemented this year.
