We have a baby goat in our house right now too. He was less than a day old when we got him, he was abandoned by his momma, so he’s our full on bottle baby and he screams if we leave the room or when he wants extra attention.

Of course Mommas don’t ever have a favorite, buuuuuuuuutttt…….Bella is a freakin rockstar. She has such a great personality/charismatic, is happy and confident, and possesses , in my opinion, the most important characteristic; she is so loving and affectionate. I mean, come on, she gets jealous and territorial over Momma. How freakin adorable is that?

If you really want to establish a lasting, hyper close bond, a bond like you have with Bella, you need to keep them inside longer (2-8 plus weeks). If possible, take possession of the kid as early as absolutely possible. If you can, be there for the birth, and then spend as much time as you can just being around/IN THE STALL. Goats are incredibly food driven, hence use this for conditioning purposes. A kid can imprint on multiple “mothers”, and you want to be one of those.
