THANK YOU SO MUCH. I'm a foster mom and I recently took in a little girl with 4C curls. I was really anxious about detangling her hair, but this worked like a charm!!
@@LaToyaEbonyHair It's be an eye-opening experience, that's for sure. Thanks so much for this video!!! Ive been struggling with my daughters natural hair..shes 13. This is soooooo much better than a comb. What was originally a 10 hour ordeal turned into 2 wonderful painless hours..and that was with breaks in between.

I’m so happy you’ve found a technique that’s working for you. I’ve found that when I stopped using sulfates and silicones in my hair on a regular bases, detangling improved so much. how long did you grow your natural hair for before cutting off your relaxed hair? Your hair looks really long for a year of growth. Thank you so much for sharing, i really need to change the way that i detangle my hair at the moment, i needed this. Thank you

Hi LaToya. I know you made this years ago but I was looking for help to detangle my short , heavily coiled , easily shrinks 4C hair. I think my problem was that I've been kinda "cursing " my hair not embracing it. When you said you "loved" your hair and called it "gorgeous" (which it is) it made me think. Maybe if I loved and excepted my hair for what it is; I wouldn't get so frustrated with it. Then I wouldnt get so stressed with it too. Thank you for inspiring me. My hair is way too short to twist all over but I will try your detangling method 👍🏽😊.
I do something similar but I usually have my hair in twists already to keep it organized otherwise I'll forget which section I left off with lol. Great video.
Hii am a new subbie .....I have a sum what looser hair texture I struggle with detangling my hair therefore I always use a comb but now u have inspired me to start finger detangling 😌
this is how ive been detangling for a few months now. it isnt too bad. tbh Im doing it because I lost my wide tooth comb and im too lazy to buy a new one. lol
Can't find the got2b guardian angel heat protect n curl spray...so would you recommend the got2b flat iron balm or the blow out lotion as a replacement? Better yet, what heat protectant do you currently use? Thanks...
I'm interested in your thoughts on max hydration method and especially using clay washes. They both help tremendously in making 4C hair curlier and stretched.
Girl tell me about that tchickness pattern!! Same on m'y hair! I mean, its OK for the front, but at times i really cant with the middle. M'y hair would laugh at me if i detangled it in natural girls" medium sections" here on utube, but hey! Thank God for the big fro afterwards😊
honestly, shrinkage is such a b- blessing... lmao nah but natural hair is gorgeous. I love that mystery of "I wonder what her actual hair length is", that's the best thing about our hair type tbh
I don’t use a comb or heat to my hair and people think “I don’t know what I’m doing” I say using a comb only pulls my hair out but they say “Your too rough” 😂 I always finger detangle and it works for me
My daughter's hair is just like this. I am clueless on how to take care of it and I feel awful. I am a single full time mom. How long does this take you? I am desperate but also in school full time for nursing so it's hard to try to find time.
That's encouraging. I was thinking it might take 2 hours! I'm hopeful but still kind scared for my first wash after removing a weave! Thanks for making this video!
LaToya Codner ok cool the reason why i asked is because i saw you trimming your end in this vid after you twist it tho and do you have tutorial on how you trim your ends by chance
+tocrazyjay HAHA! Is that what happened when you tried? Curious. I honestly think cutting out sulfate and silicones helped my hair become easier to detangle.
LaToya Codner I tried 1 time, it was a disaster. never again. My hair is really thick. It took forever to even get 1/2 way through it. Nawwww I pass on this method. I don't mind loosing strands of hair, lol
Robine Bien-aime I'm so glad I saw her reply. I was sitting here in sheer awe at that much growth in 1.5 months!!! I was like "forget the detangle, how did you grow that much hair???!!!" Lol
Hi from Germany 🙋❤ first of all I just wanna thank You for the Videos 🙏 i also have 4c Hair and it seems like my hair never grows😣 do you have any Tipps for my Bcuz i want my hair to grow long and ive been trying this i noticed change But sometimes its just like it doesnt grow😭😭
StarlessTerrace StarlessTerrace I detangle only when I wash (once every other week), I have no idea how many inches of hair I have, and it usually takes me an hour give or take. It all starts in the shower and the technique you use to wash. I wash my hair pulling out so my detangling process isn't a mess. Hope that helps!
Thank you for responding so quickly! That was definitely helpful. I'm also 4c and to be honest, I had given up all hope of finger detangling because the last time I'd tried, it would literally take 3-4 hours once a week. Way too long! In any case, I'm happy to see your video (and your response). I think I'm willing to try it again and see if it can take less time than it did before using your techniques.
i cannot for the life of my detangle my hair when its dry. im veeery tender headed. i think it has something to do with my scalp when its dry or blow dried.
+Kenyetta Ready Thick hair is a blessing with definite challenges. I say give it a try. I stopped using silicones and sulfate all together and I really believe it has helped as well. My hair is a lot easier to detangle. It's also shorter.
I think most people would agree with you! Lol Try going without sulfates and silicone products for a while (if you haven’t). It helped my hair TREMENDOUSLY.
That does not look like 4c. That looks more like 4a. 4c hair is much more delicate than this. it breaks way more when you're doing that, even with conditioner and oil/water. I tried it. Well, I'm back to braids. I love you girls who can do twist/braid outs but not everyone's hair will cooperate.
My hair is 4b/4c. My edges are much looser on the sides. Everyone’s hair is different, same texture or not. Differences in density, length, porosity, and even the products used consistently can determine how well a person can finger detangle. Braidouts and twistouts can can also turn out differently based on all of these things, plus products and technique. I wish for you a happy hair journey, and a head full of healthy hair! ❤️
I guess you're right. I've been wearing braids and cornrows for a year now. I only started trying this a week ago. The longer my hair gets, the worse it tangles. And I feel like cutting off the 7 inches that grew in addition to the 3 inches I started out with after I cut off all the relaxed hair. Thanks for the encouragement. I will keep trying. Maybe I need to "train" my hair as they say.
@@LaToyaEbonyHair awesome video regardless! your Instagram link doesn't work... also you should do a scientific video on properties of black hair i.e. why it curls, why 4c sometimes feels dry if you haven't already. @@LaToyaEbonyHair 🙏 yay thanks sis. Your videos hit me feeling real confident..lol
YAAAAAASSS!!! 👏🏾👏🏾
i cannot for the life of my detangle my hair when its dry. im veeery tender headed. i think it has something to do with my scalp when its dry or blow dried.
its Val Oh girl, I can't detangle my hair when it's dry either. My scalp would be so sore!! My hair was semi air dried. I was just re-dampening it.
are u Jamaican?🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
You sound different from your older vids.
+Candice M It's mostly a better quality the mic and partly the way I'm speaking.
Hello lovely 1 time on your wall lovely hair love 🙆🙆
no boo. my hair is THICKER than that. no help for me.
+Kenyetta Ready Thick hair is a blessing with definite challenges. I say give it a try. I stopped using silicones and sulfate all together and I really believe it has helped as well. My hair is a lot easier to detangle. It's also shorter.
Detangling is my worst nightmare 😭😭😭😢😢
Your hair looks like 4b... If that's 4c then i'm like 5c
I have a mix of both :)
@@LaToyaEbonyHair awesome video regardless! your Instagram link doesn't work... also you should do a scientific video on properties of black hair i.e. why it curls, why 4c sometimes feels dry if you haven't already. I'm new to natural hair and really appreciate
those videos. it adds credibility to your videos and everyone learns. Just a suggestion tho if you haven't already i just found your channel
+Prof A Incredibly good video suggestions. I’m writing them down! Thank you!
