You should really change the flexible hydraulic brake pipes - with age they break-down internally and block the fluid from getting to the calipers - then you have no brakes - not nice.

They have been changed in later time, and the brake cylinder has been overhauled! But that was after I sold the bike, so I have no videos or anything from that.

Hey, my material were complete garbage, and one of my gopros corupted my files aswell. So I have just been extending the video for months now, as I know it will be really bad =/ actually edited the entire thing, then deleted it afterwards, it was so bad. Had to rush it between finishing the bike, and getting home to quarantine.. so yeah.. thats why I haven't posted it yet.
Thank you for your encouraging words!

Thanks! They are nothing special, just some I found at the local store. Universal style.

Oh.. really enjoyed watching all your R1100 GS restoration from Epi. 1 up to this point and I'm so happy for your outcome. Hard work pays off.
By the way Sir, do you have other stores online that you can recommend? (Brandnew or Secondhand will do)
Recently, my father bought back his R1100 GS from his friend. The motorcycle wasn't taken care of, especially the Tank was in bad shape probably because of a minor accident.
We are on the process of restoring it soon and I was tasked to look for its Tank replacement and it's a good thing I came across to your videos.
My region is in Asia-Pacific, I hope you can help me of other reliable sites where I can avail the Tank in lower cost as possible.
Looking forward for more of your updates here in youtube or IG.
Thank you so much very informative videos, Subd & liked! :)

Thanks, im happy you like them! :)
Mostly i have been using ebay for parts, i have been researching fueltanks as well, and noticed they were really expensive. even used one that were dented cost about 300$. So i would either look up local shops that breaks up bikes and sell them as parts, or keep an eye out on ebay maybe someone puts one out for a good price. shipping for a fuel tank could be expensive tho. or get the tank fixed if it is possible, that could be your best and cheapest option.
My next episode is on the tank again, and should be out in a few days. were i acid clean it, and coat the inside.
what is the problem with the tank on that bike? is it dented, rusty, scratched or so? if it is still holding fuel your best option is probarbly to fix it.
I hope this can be of help :)

@@pristineprojects4881 Thank you for your prompt response. All noted. :)
Also, i've followed your FB page and send some photos of my dad's R1100. You can check it out too, if that's Okay with you. Hehe. :)) My father thought of just ordering a Brandnew Fueltank, since it would be hard to find a secondhand one, as what you've stated. (I'm not yet sure though, if there's an available Brandnew for it.)
As of now, i'll go try and check the sites you've suggested and find more sites to order internationally, because it would be cheaper than to order here in our local.
Again, looking forward of your upcoming vidoes and Thank you for assisting me Sir. Should you have more suggestions/recommendations pls. don't hesitate! :)

It’s looking so good! Like the other guy said, your rims looks so nice! I’ve been working on my r1100gs rims a ton but they’re still so blotchy and dull looking. How did you clean the rims behind and around the spokes?

    • @pristineprojects4881
      @pristineprojects4881  4 роки тому +2

thanks man! if you take a look at episode 4, you can see how i do it. it takes alot of time, and i wouldnt recomend it if your spokes are in perfect condition tho. i use an abrasive pad to wrap around the spokes and losen the dirt. and to get the polishing right, I used an alkaline cleaner to loosen the dull/grey layer that were on the rim itself.
But be aware that some of these wheels do have some kind of coating to protect them. but from what i found out, it seems like its more usual on newer models. so yeah, dont ruin that coating!
I will see if i can make a video of it, unfortunatly im stuck in Norway due to Corona, and the bike is in Sweden. I Might be able to do something with the material made for episode 4, and then just do a voiceover.
