Thanks for sharing, Steve. I'm a big lover of the fritters, so it's nice to see this come together well. This looks like a pretty easy way to put apple fritter donuts back on the menu.
I miss the little pack-in gifts too, I absolutely adore the enamel mug they ended the last box on under the old system and I definitely feel a little special knowing I've got some one of a kind Keto Chow merch. However, I do think it makes sense for them to retire the gifts especially with how hard they're trying to keep prices down. I'm hoping in the future they can reintroduce some more fun non-chow items into the store and offer them separately.
Hi Terri! Happy to see your smiling face this morning! Oh... and hey there Steve! Oh... and I don't much care for the assorted surprise package. I really cannot eat the sweeter fruit based flavors... too triggering for me even after a year on keto. I pretty much stick to chocolate, irish cream and mocha.
Keto Chow has become my favorite easy meal. I typically use heavy cream for the ease, but really enjoy making a cheesecake pudding with creamcheese, heavy cream, and eggs.
I never got the surprise box when the little gifts were included but they always sounded like fun. I’d pay a bit more for that “Wow! Look at that!” unexpected delight.
Steve, I'm brand new to Keto Chow, haven't even tried it yet (starter pack is on the way), but your videos have been really helpful for me and have convinced me to give it a try - so thank you! If I enjoy the first few flavors I tried, I might give this subscription a try.
I can’t order Keto Chow until I know the serve size and total carbs. Will go to their site to see if I can. Love your videos with you and your lively wife.
Thanks for showing the box and the bread! My subscription is at the end of the months so this gives me a heads up in case I need to change the box type. Usually if I am doing a glaze I chill the bread or cake first, and that seems to help the glaze harden more quickly. If bread is still too warm it will keep it melty. It looks delicious!
I got my 2nd subscription shipment yesterday. I took pictures of the box before I opened it and it was all smashed. Surprisingly neither Keto Chow bag was damaged. Since I use these as treats I am set for a while. I also ordered a packet of the red licorice flavor. I plan on making some gummies with them.
@@SeriousKeto I made them this weekend. I used Keto Chow's recipe. They were good but they were as firm as normal gummies. I substituted the beef gelatin for pork gelatin since that was all that was available near me. I'm not sure if this made a difference or not.
Terry loves making zucchini pancakes, and wants to try doing them using the apple pie Keto Chow (in place of flour) to see how that works. If successful, we'll make a video.
I made this had same issue with glaze. I added fresh pecans and green apple e tract to mine- delicious.going to add a little salted caramel kc too next one.
Good to see Teri back! This is only my second month with the 30-meal mystery box, but I just watched your video and 2 crazy ketos and y'all got the same things, I got completely different flavors and recipe cards, I wonder why that is
Thank you for this review. I’m going to try this recipe with 3 edits: I will: 1. whip the egg whites and fold them in for a fluffier bake. 2. Add apple flavouring to the zucchini 3. Add cream cheese to the glaze
Do you list the recipes on your website that comes in your monthly surprise box? It would be great to see those recipes listed for buying future Keto Chow. I think you could add chocolate keto chow and some choczero chocolate chips to this recipe too.
Yes, Terry has a beautiful, smooth, glowing tan. She just looks amazing and seems so much more at home in front of the camera than she did just a few short months ago. She's showing you up, Steve, and leaving you looking a little pasty...🤣 I love it that you made her favorite recipe while she was out. You're a good husband.
I like seeing Terri doing any Keto stuff with you since she isn't Keto. I finally ordered surprise box and still waiting. The website says with surprise so need to change that. After watching all the unboxing I already know not to look for it. Good video.
Oh my gosh. I LOVE how you surprised her with the recipe! HusbandWIN! PS since I can’t afford to try the ketochow; all the extras you said you had you can send to me. 😉
I haven't tried. The big challenges with keto deep frying are: 1) The density and moisture content of any keto dough (vs wheat flour) mean that it can basically soak up fat and not cook well to the center, and... 2) Deep frying uses a lot of oil, which would expensive if you're using a "clean keto" oil. On the rare occasions that I deep fry, I use peanut oil. It will still upset the keto police, but at least it's not inflammatory for me (like canola oil and soybean oil are).
If you have any sway with these people can you beg, cajole, wheedle or bribe them to make more blueberry pie flavor? I missed out on the few seconds when it was available and really want to try it. In fact, I bet it would be a big seller all year.
with icing / glaze, you do not need much liquid. In my experience you add a teaspoon of liquid at a time until you have desired thickness. It's always less than you think
@@SeriousKeto yes I absolutely understand why you did it. Icing is a strange beast and it's usually best just to use your own eye to gauge than recipes amounts
Hi Steve, I have a request that you may or may not be able to do, but can you add your Amazon store link to your About section where you have your other links? Currently on YT, the only way to get to your store link is thru a video (unless I'm missing it elsewhere). I ask this because since January I've tried to make an effort to go through your link to purchase anything on Amazon aside from my Auto Delivery. I usually have a bunch of items sitting in my cart that I monitor daily for price reductions & end up ordering multiple items about once a month. I could just go through your web site or a video, but oftentimes I've already viewed it & am usually ordering while watching another YT channel. Sorry to be so long so winded😊😊😊
So I watched this video and then also watched the Tkemali sauce video. The two recipes made me wonder if you could use rhubarb in place of the squash in the fritter bread??? Thoughts? Another option to test out maybe? I really enjoy your videos. Thank you for your reviews and recipe shares.
In addition to my previous comment, nearly every single keto cake recipe I have done is nowhere near had long enough in the oven. I think sometimes the community is fixated on making things just like normal cake etc, but most times i have to add 50% cooking time with foil covering to prevent burn, otherwise uncooked and sunken middle, so it's definitely not an oven difference problem
Not sure about the grapefruit flavor (not my favorite) but otherwise it looked good. Hmmm…might have to get the surprise box this time! I love mocha, chocolate pb. I also love mango lassis! One of my favorites. I am sure the real thing at an Indian restaurant is very high in sugar and carbs. Mangoes are high in both.
I love the root beer. In fact I love every flavor you got although I get the 20 and I don’t get a big bag. I don’t like vanilla I don’t like grape I don’t like blueberry I hope I never get the licorices. So far I think those are the only ones I don’t like.
As you’re a Milk Street fan, I’m sure you’ve heard Christopher Kimball talk about baking pans… I think you should try a lighter colored or glass bread pan next time…
That was so sweet that you surprised your wife and predicted what she would like best.
