I'm 2000 cc and the one thing your speedrun has made me realise that it's really just the basics that matter. Most of us just falter to being impatient with our calculation despite the understanding of the game or because we're too fancy for our own good. Thanks for this speedrun, Danya. It will live long as some of the most instructional free chess content on the internet

I played in a tournament last week and I got wrecked by the same Nb1 tactic you showed at the end of the video. I had to give up an exchange but I was able to win the game eventually. When you asked to look for white's refutation I was able to spot it quickly because "the wound still hurts"

Interestingly enough exf3 isn't as bad as it seems to be according to SF even though gxf3 is still a little bit better and leads to more complicated positions. Sf 15 dev has them within 0.1 of each other at 1.2 billion nodes and 37 depth using MV =2. Funny enough when white castled K-side and not Q-side, the evaluation went from -0.89 to -1.96, so this may have been the losing move interestingly enough. Castling Q-side attacks the knight and also has the king close to black's Q-side majority. Lastly, on another note, Nf6 with later the idea of h5 was considered better than Ne7.
I didn't know chigorin advanced Russian chess so much. I play a lot of his opening styles (as a current 1200 rapid), mixed with the reti opening, always liked his play. I will have to look more into some of his deep analysis. Have the old journals been translated?
I don't understand the theory of the chigorin system because after d4, d5, c4, Knight c6, can't white just take the pawn on d5 attacking the Knight and forcing Queen takes d5 and then white can develop his Knight on c3 with tempo hitting white's queen? I don't understand how this is okay for black...
How exactly do you search for similar tactics in database games like you do with the discovered attack on the bishop by retreating the knight and opening up the rook? Can you show us how you do this?
@@jycegaming8530 I mean at around 8:00 , Danya said himself that he was going to explain why it's inaccurate after the game, but I guess he forgot about it.
I was wondering the same thing, after looking at the position for some time my guess would be possible f4 ideas undermining the knight and creating weaknesses for black after defending with f6, also it might leave the dark squared bishop without any real prospect because you block the diagonal. Additionally, white can then dominate your bishop by playing a3 at some point. Keep in mind im only about 2000 myself so i might very well be wrong in my assessment. Hope my input helps however :)
Does he have all the games he shows memorized, and recalls them by the tactic that just appeared in his game, or does chessbase have a tactics search engine?

As a Newfoundlander I can confirm there is more than 1 flight a week.
GM Morozevich was only top GM to play it with some consistency. In Recent years I saw Rapport play it a few times.

You didn't defend the d4 pawn, black just plays Qxd4, free pawn. e3 or Nf3 is better

Black looks pretty fine to me after Qxd5, you can't play Nc3 and develop with tempo because white's d4 pawn is hanging
