Can we all just acknowledge how insane it is that Danya can hold a 3300 ELO chess engine to a +0.3 advantage over 60 moves in a freaking 10 minute game?
This is stupid impressive Danya is amazing. But I think he was able to last so long because it wasn’t all top engine moves some being in the top 3. I feel that’s the only way it’s possible for a human to still survive after 60 moves. But to even be able to do it at this level is insane naroditsky the goat
@@luiscarrasco603 The difference is the one you played with 90% accuracy against likely didn't 87% accuracy in return. If you play against someone who blunders 4 moves in a row you'll likely have 99.8% accuracy against them, doesn't make it suspicious tho.
I love the way Danya talks about people playing well/cheaters, never assumes the worst until after analyzing and confirming. I remember a few episodes ago he said something along the lines of “imagine you’re having a good game and you get accused of cheating by someone with thousands of people watching - youd probably feel bad even if you did nothing wrong” and I’ve started to consider that a lot, and honestly has made me a lot less toxic in games.

He didnt. He was losing +1.25 by move 18. Qc7 was a bad move. Then the cheater played 19. Bh7+ which was a also a bad move (right move is Nxd5), bringing the centipawn loss back to near 0. So clearly this guy was using a bad engine. I'm using Stockfish 15.
John Bartholomew has a playlist that I think is called computer impossible. It's him doing videos like this against an engine. I don't recall him having any wins but he does draw some.
GM's in general dont feel comfortable getting crushed. Thats why there is so little GM vs engine footage on YT, apart from playing against (bad) cheaters and flagging them occasionally. Hikaru played against Komodo and was getting crushed even with pawn odds. He was very unhappy about the experience. And that was online engine, meaning weak hardware. Against locally run engine he wouldve gotten it even worse.

Karlsbad is named after the Karlsbad in the Czech Republic, I guess (Karlovy Vary), which was one of the places to go for the European high society in the 19th century. The German Karlsbad was formed only in 1971 out of several smaller communities.
Danya can you play Cambridge Springs in the QGD if possible? The tricks are a lot of fun and black can still get a pretty solid position if the tricks don’t work out, plus it would be quite educational to see how you handled a position like that.

The fact that every chess streamer encounters a cheater by chance on stream at some point tells you how common they are. Most cheaters are smart enough to at least not cheat on every move, and not gloat. But not all of them. They're a scourge, they reduce the enjoyment of playing online, and they're everywhere.

Dude moved his dark bishop 4x and his a rook three times in the first what, 18 moves? Normal players do not spend almost 40% of the game shuffling two pieces in the opening. Endgame, sure, but that's a different beast.
It was still very plausible he wasn't cheating at that point, I'm just 1500 but QGD Exchange just happens to be the one opening I've studied to some depth, and the rare occasions I actually get to play it this far I would've played very similarly to this guy. They were playing mainline stuff, after all. Make it to move 20 and it would've been obvious I wasn't cheating though, hah

It's the same everywhere. Rocket league, chess, league of legends, csgo, etc etc. People get super toxic because of the idea that they are marginally better than you at a video game xD

Yeah, especially in games like chess where it's basically single player. At least in multiplayer games there are other degenerates who pay cheaters to carry them but the entire satisfaction from chess comes from learning from your mistakes so that you can outplay your opponent in similar situations. In cheating, there's no learning, no growth, no fun and then they get banned after a few months.
Because it feels good to win, it's not that difficult to understand. You're projecting your own attitude that winning only means something if you earn it. Let go of that idea, and realise that the act of winning in and of itself is something that feels good, so they just do whatever will get them that dopamine hit

Too many white players at 1100 bullet play book openings against the Scandinavian and too many black players play perfect book openings against the Byrd at 1100 bullet, something that my 1700 opponents can't do in Rapid or even Classical 30 minute time controls., even when spending more time. I report them for cheating, showing that they purposely blunder their queen and resign every other game to keep their rating low, and a few days later I get my points back from them being banned. Cheating is out of control in bullet. I suspect there is even more of it, but some don't play the top 3 moves, and it why I don't play bullet anymore.

When someone plays the same rook to C1, D1, and E1 in the 5 moves, they are almost always cheating

I wonder if this guy even noticed that Daniel was playing extremely well for a 1700. Maybe he thought Daniel was cheating as well or he knows so little about chess that he just enters numbers into the computer without knowing what they mean, like the most boring job in the universe.
