Beautiful variations at the end of the game. Also love how excited Danya can still get about chess despite playing it his whole life. It truly is a passion, isn't it?
Not despite he is playing his whole life, but because. If you have literally seen everything and suddenly something completely new and phantastic is on the board how can you not be exited?
It isnt really passion even though it is. It's a gift, a talent. He is a prodigy and he might as well develop his skills and become a gm. If we, we 2, become prodigies when we were kids then why not pursue your thing that you're good at
That combination at the end to force mate was so incredible, and to have a Tal game lead right into the exact idea was just the icing on the already most delicious cake.
That was some amazing stuff there in that Tal game. It is always wonderful to watch a master artist at his craft. And that mating sequence from the end of your game... beautiful. (Oh, and of course we got the Ferris Bueller reference!)
Your subscriber count is getting crazy, Daniel! Congratulations, that’s really an accomplishment and we’re all very lucky for the content that you make.
I started playing 4 months ago and I always learn more from you all the time. Thank you Daniel. I wish I could watch you live some day but my schedule doesn’t allow it
Just watched one of your old videos on the King's Gambit. That's my favorite opening now. It's so deadly. Was wondering if you could do more videos on that opening. You're a beast. God bless you
As an 1100, it always blows me away how easy he makes it look utterly destroying a 1700. It looks so easy like I could do that, then I go play a 1200 and its a different story 😂
The endings🤯 Beginner me is still surprised at an ongoing theme… how common sketchy stuff seems to happen in the first 5 moves up through around 2000 online, and I’m only talking about when these players (that have worked hard enough to earn their rating) actually choose their opening in common situations, like here. Another excellent teaching session from GM Danya!🙏
13:35 Bc1 is not the only winning move. Bxe7 also works because after Rxe7 Qf7 Kd7, white can trade into a winning endgame (because white is up two pawns). Obviously I didn't see this, I put the position in the engine. Bc1 was an exquisite move though. Love your videos.
This man is absolutely speedrunning scores and ladders, winning without the tiniest sweat against elos bigger than him, can bring and breakdown moves as QUOTES from other matches like it's just common knowledge and I can't help but explode laughing at that one guy in the comments back when he was around 1300 elo calling him a scam saying that he's asking his watchers for the next move. And I love remembering this more now because this is exactly what that guy and more were talking about "oh he's gonna eat shit at 1700-1800" Some people sound like they just spawned out of nowhere with the ability to speak I swear
This game is an absolute banger! Could anyone post the full pgn of Tal vs NN game Dany showed here? I'm gonna share this beauty at the bar and at the library.
I had a similar idea retreating the bishop but to c4 building a battery against f7 and if black takes on d5 Bb5+ is back in business. Bc1 in Tals game I didn't see though. Fantastic.
As a 1700 that often play passive, the appeal is that the opponent often can't leverage his advantage accurately, over extends and then you have the better position. Plus I don't remember many openings so it just what happens when i try to not play the italian or the london
I was looking at Rhe1 when you mentioned a quiet move that won, and didn't see anything there. Interesting that you didn't consider it as a follow-up after h5, just looks like a thematic move to my eyes. The brain can be a wondrous place though, and I never would have seen Be2! Only a master like this could see that move and know it's winning without seeing how. Good game.
Danya, I also hope you are going to continue the wonderful endgame principles series soon - any update on your plans regarding frequency of videos? Does any one else know, maybe Danya mentioned something in any other stream?
The basic rules of positional play are being ignored by black who keeps on exchanging instead of keeping the tension and at the same time allowing white to develop. I see this premature exchanging all the time in my philidor games with white, and it is very subtle, but black is worse with a passive position to boot. I almost always just follow chess principles, always looking for tactics, and black eventually cracks as psychologically constantly defending is ego crushing, and most players have oversized egos.
Imagine playing the philidor at 1700 elo... When Mamedyarov plays it, it's because he is prepared and wants to go out of the opening with fighting positions, when you guys play it, you just playing passive positions lmao
This guy honestly played a lot worse than a 1700, kind of a shame to see Daniel's upload go to waste in that sense. I guess we always learn something don't get me wrong but a bit of resistance gets the blood flowing and makes for more interesting games.
Would it be too much to ask for an eval bar? Without you knowing the eval of course... Would be also entertaining if end up totally disagreeing with the eval without knowing! Love ur vids!
I think too many people would claim he's cheating. You can always analyze with an engine yourself after the game and see how his ideas differ from the computer
It would also be complicated to set up. He needs to set up the overlay in OBS, use another account to spectate the game and probably other small details.
He's probably the most gifted attacking player of all time. Either him or Garry. The difference is Garry calculated everything to the end whereas Tal often sacrificed almost entirely intuitively, so Tal's sacrifices weren't airways sound but it was very difficult to find the refutations over the board with the clock ticking
"Where did black go wrong here?"
Danya: "Every move."
danya: "yes"
**opponent logs on**
Danya: this is clearly losing.
How the hell did this guy get to 1700??? People at 1300 play better than this.
@@DarkSideChess What's your rating?
@@henrycook8591400 - that's why its frustrating that my typical opponents play much tougher. This guy must be really good w/ white or something.
that Tal sequence is the filthiest, most beautiful combination I've seen; wish more people would teach this alongside or instead of the Opera game
Beautiful variations at the end of the game. Also love how excited Danya can still get about chess despite playing it his whole life. It truly is a passion, isn't it?

i too get excited over a beautiful mate ;)
@@francoisjeffery1606 - We all enjoy a beautiful mate
14:02 my god that is a spectacular sequence.

1700 player accepts game against Danya
Danya: See that was already a mistake.

I want to thank you GM Daniel Naroditsky. Because of your lessons i improved evaluating positions during a match by alot
Your subscriber count is getting crazy, Daniel! Congratulations, that’s really an accomplishment and we’re all very lucky for the content that you make.
The goat. Thanks man very helpful, been seeing a lot of this opening lately
Play by Tal always inspires. Truly that which showcases beauty of the game. Makes you wonder what he would have brought to the game in this era.
7:36 "Yeah, slight difference between these two games" I chuckled.

Thank you Danya for this instructive video. It seems the Philidor is experiencing a revival.
Daniel please post more. Your videos are amazing. I learn so much. Thank you for teaching for free.
No, Danya shouldn't become one of those people that spams a video a day with no consideration for its quality. You have Gotham for that bullshit.
"Don't just pick a random square" such as e3 for example. Then plays e3.
Joking aside love these videos!
i learn a lot with your videos, thanks daniel
love the speedrun danya! keep it up!

Very good content
very nice
16:17 just as you went in to check the engine I was calculating this exact move :) kinda proud of that one not gonna lie.
Even your sacrifices maintain a good evaluation 🤯
Love a good chessgasm
Bishop B5 was lovely
Poor guy, just living his life, playing his chess, Danya: "Our opponent did not play well". Aaaaaaaaand crushed.
“I want art”
*art*
“I want beautiful art”
*Bc1*
“Thank you”
thanks
wow that dude played abysmally for 1700
Lost in all of this brilliant analysis by Danya is that a 1700 played like a 1200.
I had a similar idea retreating the bishop but to c4 building a battery against f7 and if black takes on d5 Bb5+ is back in business. Bc1 in Tals game I didn't see though. Fantastic.
So proud of myself for finding bc1. Although it did take me like 10 mins

@16:30 “show this to someone who doesn’t think chess is art” … tried this on my wife and was greeted w/ bemused indifference
Legitimately, Tal (and many others) created literal art on the board. Many of his games are just brilliant masterpieces.
someone should mint tal games
Tal NFTs
You’re the best danya!!!!
Every moved after Ba6 seemed impossible. Absolutely fantastic game
This was a fun one! I HATE being on the receiving end of play like this.
It's like the opponent was pre-moving random moves.
Astonishing move with bishop… how could that be checkmate, wow.
