Faithwalkerscharities I'm sorry you missed the point. I'm black. I don't see color here I see people like myself. I don't understand why you lighter skinned people make a big deal out of black people farming. I'm a 7th generation black farmer. Yes my ancestors were free during civil war. Long family story so I've been told. Sounds good but it's as good as any other I reckon.

If your still looking for land for a reasonable prices look into upstate NY. Good land with decent soils. And land values are only gonna rise and that are is one of the most in demand. Only thing is you gotta be ready for those winters. That's why there's so much available land.

I'm from the south. I'm the 9 th generation of my family gonna be buried in this county. I'm a proud southerner but I Don't see Color. I feel what's emanating from a person. I could care least for your color or where you're from. I don't push my beliefs on anyone and don't want theirs pushed on me. Good neighbors are scared commodity to me.

After the civil war, the majority of black people became sharecroppers! As the cities grew the youngsters began to leave the farm and move to the cities. For decades the black community thrived. Because of segregation black people had to start their own businesses, their own grocery stores, their own banks. There were alot of wealthy black business owners. When daddy government stepped in and began to rip the nuclear family apart is when blacks began to slip into poverty.
