I'm continuing to experiment and learn technique myself, but this is the method I have found works the best for me - mainly with the palette knife and a little brushwork.

I am doing a commission of a landscape with snowy mountains. I was trying with a brush but things were just not working. Randomly I just started using a pallet knife. This was before I’ve seen this video. Guess I was on to something correct. You have been teaching me more about mixing colors then I’ve learned while getting my MA in studio art! Keep up the awesome paintings. Wanted to add, I’ve found using walnut oil helps the paint dry faster. If you didn’t want to wait a week for the white to dry.

Thanks, you can be surprisingly accurate with a knife. I paint small works with the palette knife also
