Jean was the star of that show hands down.she was so good at her character it was unbelievable.
How could he possibly hurt Edith? That's utterly evil.
Why did Archie expect an apology from Edith....he 'cheated " on her! But they finally....."kissed & made" up!!! U just couldn't imagine Archie without Edith.....until she passed! That was a bummer! Yuck!!!!
Why did Archie expect an apology, even though he was in the wrong? Have you not followed the show and the characters, because they are both playing their role.

Edith had a heart of gold. Jean really made you feel for Edith. Which makes her a really great actress.
It’s amazing how well this show still holds up after 50 plus years. It’s still relevant and it tackles all the uncomfortable, difficult situations that nobody wants to talk about.
Great lesson about forgiveness.

No he wouldn't. He had a big overreaction just because Edith went away for a weekend to a lake with a guy and his parents (and nothing even happened)

This situation thrust Archie to the point of self reflection and he knew Edith is his Queen.
The double standards in the 70s were so pronounced.
One time Archie found out Edith had been with someone else before they were married and liked to never let her live it down,just kept tossing it up in her face.
Which was worst, when Archie kissed the waitress or when he forged Edith’s name and mortgaged the house to buy the bar?
They were both equally bad. I don’t blame Edith for being angry
The man put up with that voice for years, cut him a break. He didn’t sleep with the girl and he bought a business.
Definitely the forgery. I remember that episode.
When Archie forged the signature for the mortgage he was doing it to start a business and get them ahead. Edith was being too rigid and shitting on Archie's dream. So there's no comparison to his cheating. The cheating was much worse.

We all love people who make mistakes. It's easier to forgive if they grow from the experience. In turn, we both can grow. If you have an arrogant pompous ass that is unable or doesn't want to be vulnerable, it's hard to forgive. If you stay, then you have to then forgive yourself. Love can hurt like hell.
