I love this model. I've been flying it for over two years and have nothing bad to say about it. My only advice is if it stalls to cut the power and let it start flying again. I liked the new paint scheme so much I upgraded. The RLM colors are spot on.
I'm glad you like it, Robert! We did our best to breathe new life into this bird, and I think the power system and new scheme we spec'd did the trick. Chris' excellent skills really show off the bird as she's meant to be flown, too. Solid!

Cool video Chris! I remembered that lift thing from my a&p school days way back in the '70's,and the pic below the formula kind of helped, which is good, because a lot of other things were going on back in the '70's :)
This is the last of the WWII Warbird collection I need to have to die happy. And hopefully it’ll fit the jet progression from the two trainer/intermediate level EDF’s. And if not, it can sit next to the Flightline P-38 I built a year ago and still haven’t flown... After 4 1/2 years of Kamikaze style flying, the Post Dramatic Stress Disorder and 6 months in therapy, I think I’m ready for the Me-262.
Hello Chris. Great job -as always. Have you tried with covered cheater holes? With the A-4 the blanking was a good idea from you. I did that too. Now I'm working with the Schwalbe...
Chris. You still have this plane? I was thinking about getting one. Kind of admired it from afar for quite sometime. Just never got around to pulling the trigger. Plus, I have that 7000 pack and it don’t get used very often these days. I didn’t realize it could handle a pack that size. Excellent video and flight. 👍👍😊
Honestly, it's kind of a pain out of the box because all of the wires get routed through the fuselage from the wing to the receiver. To make it easier, I'd recommend using some combination connectors/extensions so that it ends up only being 1 or 2 plugs required when connecting the wings.
Absolutely great flying. You are such a good pilot, I really enjoyed watching this. I'm thinking of get this plane or the freewing venom v2. I've never had a jet before and I'm flying over 34 years. Most of my planes are ic powered warbirds. I like the looks of the me 262 better but I also like the sound of the venom. Which would you recommend as a first edf jet? Thanks.
Thank you very much! Given the two, I’d recommend the 262. The venom has a pretty nasty tip stall tendency based on my friend who has one. It’s cool and he loves flying it, but that is something that could rear its head on landings if you get it too slow.
Thank you! I have heard stories of the noses breaking from repeated rough field use. So, if may be worth embedding some carbon tubs into the nose aft of the wing saddle forward.
@@Thercgeek I'm thinking of buying one that has a broken front nose gear. Is it possible to somehow glue it together with something on the side making it sturdier or woud I need to buy a new one?

LOOKS LIKE YOU HAVE IT BACK A BIT, MOST SEEM TO HAVE THEIR 5000s ALL THE WAY FORWARD. THAT MAKES A 7000 BACK FURTHER SEEM TAIL HEAVY.?!. GREAT VIDEO, AS USUAL!
@@johnnyg3681 Thanks! The 7000 needs to be further back for the same CG location because it's a heavier pack. I could see a lighter 5000 needing to be all the way forward. I only flew this one with 5800s, 6250s, and the 7000s. I've heard about folks reinforcing the nose, but I didn't do that to mine. If you're flying off of grass, might be a good idea. On the wiring, there are some multi connectors that you could use that'll put the multiple plugs into only 1 or 2 plugs at the airplane. That would be the simplest thing I would think, but would take a bit of soldering to accomplish.
@@Thercgeek THANKS CHRIS. YOU'RE A REAL HELP. YES, I GET IT WITH THE 7000 BACK, IT'S HEAVIER. MAKES SENSE. I'LL TAKE A LOOK TO SEE IF USING A WIRING HARNESS TO REDUCE IT TO ONE OR TWO CONNECTIONS MIGHT WORK.

There aren’t a lot of great options out there for pilots really. You might check aces of iron, they make some of the best warbird pilots out there. I’m not sure they have something small enough to fit the schwalbe, but it’s worth a look.
Hey Chris, awesome review as usual! I just ordered one and should have it next week. Question: Did the original Me262 have navigation or landing lights? I can't tell one way or another from photos and videos I've looked through. I assume it must have had them. By any chance are they included on the Freewing V2? Would be great if it does but I guess it wouldn't be too terribly difficult to add them.
Good video Chris.. One of the guy's at my airfield has this plane and it looks great.. Sorry , I couldn't see your shirt.. Too busy looking at the pretty Lady in the background...LoL..
If you throttle back, it’ll do ok. I flew mine with a 5800 and it generally went pretty quick. But, I also like to keep the airplane cruising at a decent clip of speed. A 6250 is a great compromise between the two.
ah, ok, thanks for pointing that out. So, that was me trying to get it locked into the knife edge. The airplane will knife edge exceptionally well actually, but I didn't quite have the inputs correct at the entry to counter the small amount of coupling that there is.
