How can you tell what size romex to use for the new outlet (14 gauge or 12 gauge)? Does it depend on whether it's a 15 amp or 20 amp breaker it's powered by? Is it easy to tell from the existing outlet?

If your existing outlet is a 20A, it should have a slightly different prong configuration (one prong is a T-shaped prong). And of course, the breaker for 20A outlet should be rated for 20A as well. My recommendation would be to add a 15 amp new outlet only so that you don't overload your existing breaker resulting in a trip if you have something connected to both outlets.

@@HandyBros ok thanks! Do you use 12 gauge wire consistently with hooking in the new outlet if the already existing one has 12 gauge running to it? And using a 15 amp outlet.

Trying to add an outlet higher in the wall to service my mounted tv without seeing any wires. Any help or videos on that?

You would have to fish the wire from the top electrical box to the bottom. it could get trick depending on the box you have and available know outs. We have a similar video coming soon.

I live in a older home. I would like to install an outlet in back of my TV mount, but the existing outlet isn't grounded. Could i still add the outlet. Please help me

Use can use a GFCI outlet instead of a regular outlet. While this doesn't provide true grounding, it will provide some added protection than an ungrounded regular outlet. Refer to a licensed electrician for your situation and wiring.
