I've been hunting for over 20 years a majority of that with my oldest now a seasoned hunter herself. I now have 2 new hunters ready to take on the mantle. both bringing their own flair to the hunt and ready to make a name for themselves. I look forward to guiding them and watching them grow. Ready to pass down the knowledge I've gained over the years so that when i'm gone I will know that the future and balance of the world remain bright.
Our story begins in February.

Fun Fact: Hunting without the guild’s permission or poaching monsters is a crime in the MH universe punishable by death.
They send them fancy bounty hunters after ya arse.
Bounty hunters will face the criminals in soulslike combat.
@@YekkityYek They should somehow incorporate this into the game. And if you die, you go to Monster Hunter Hell where you fight a Fatalis using a melee weapon with only red sharpness. No whetstones or healing either, or any items for that matter.
Guild Hunters are usually dispatched to deal with them, as its been recorded hundreds of times where poachers are the cause that brings Elders or worse to areas. As nature itself works to balance things out itself. Elders are smart, and Powerful beyond measure. The games don't fit their lore accurately for the sake of gameplay.
@@KrispyTreats777 they did. In several games, the high-ranking quests are from The Scarlet Knights. The Protag Hunter never does anything to incure Guild's wrath so there is no need to engage Scarlets.
My god this brought back a massive amount of nostalgia with some of these ancient MH trailers.

the respect aspect is super true too, you pick any person who has rolled credits on a monster hunter, and ask if they respect any of the monsters, hell they most likely even know their breeding habits

“Caretakers of the land” probably the best description for a Hunter didn’t really think about it till this but Hunters are basically Game Wardens but with massive tools to deal with issues god I’m so hyped for Wilds
Somewhere in between Game Warden and government sanctioned Bounty Hunter. A lot of people take certain game mechanics, such as the grind requiring numerous hunts of the same monster, way too seriously. In reality, we obviously aren't hunting dozens of monsters for our armor and weapons. Every monster we hunt lorewise has been sanctioned by the Guild or by local authorities and is either so numerous it's fine to hunt, or is so dangerous to the the locals, infrastructure, or ecosystem that it has to go.

@as much as this doesn’t excuse this, Rise is a side game and not a mainline game, Worlds is monster hunter 5 and Wilds is monster hunter 6. Talking about rise getting lore things wrong is the same as NOW getting lore things wrong. It isn’t necessarily excusable but also doesn’t really matter at the end of the day,

It's a good little look into what the general lore and tone of the series is all about for newcomers and veterans alike! Yes, Hunters aren't just murder-hobos making new boots out of every new critter. That's just a happy byproduct of their actual job!
Also, we got proper official pronunciations for the localized names of Seregios and Lagiacrus! "Sir-ray-gi-oce" and "Lag-ee-ak-rus". Also also, it seems like Fatalis is once again being cemented as a Monster that stands above even other Elder Dragons. He truly is the boogeyman of the MH franchise.

Yeah i learned a while ago we Hunters were basically regulators for nature. Theres a lot of Monsters that are classified as living disasters. What some of them do thats natural to them is catastrophic to both us and the other monsters that live on the planet. And its our job to make sure they dont cause an extinction level event(looking at you elder dragons)
For example. Vaal Hasak and Black Veil Vaal Hasal. Often referred to as The Zombie Dragons. These guys exert a naturally forming toxin that basically rots and kills anything exposed to it. Something like that got loose out of its natural habitat it would have to die. Otherwise the effects would be catastrophic.
Then we got the Rajangs, fuckers attacks anything that moves its literally so angry and hostile that even elder dragons avoid fighting these things.
But i do like a headcannon, possibly actual lore, i found.
We hunters are actually the protectors of a society that dwells behind a border between the monster infested world. And the human inhabited world. This human society believes that all the monsters we hunt and kill are all myths. To them they dont exist.
Our job is keep it that way. We are the first, last, and only line of defense to keep that civilization alive and well.
On top of everything else. So yeah. Were pretty important in the grand scheme of things.
Also the big oversize weapons arent an exaggerating feature. Its part of the lore. Hunters are born with superior strength, speed, and durability to the point where we can lift and swing something about five times our own body weight like it nothing. Those hammers aint made of paper mache i can tell ya that. You put a hunter against someone like Captain America or Spiderman, theyre gonna get their shit rocked.
Definitely head-canon, man. Monsters are literally mostly just animals in that world. The only time anyone thinks some monsters are myths are the super rare ones that hardly pop up. So stuff like Kirin, or Rajang even (not as common as they are in game).
Also, ain't no way Spider-man is getting his shit rocked by a hunter unless he was goofing around and not taking the fight seriously. He can literally go toe-to-toe with advanced superheroes like the Hulk.
@Jaimyoutubing what about a Hunter with elder dragon armor a shit ton of high level gems? I'm counting those two when I say that. We literally kill monsters that are considered gods.

Please mean they are bringing back the Lagiacrus. I have wanted to fight him again since Generations. He has been one of my favorites since Tri and he has only been in Generations. Hopefully we can get his lava based cousin Agnaktor as well. He hasn't been around since Portable 3rd.
There's Lagiacrus' skeleton, weapons, armour and missions all found already in MH Wild's code already, so yeh it's 90% certain he's coming back

The lore of hunters meticulously capturing/hunting creatures mostly when it’s needed for a balance in nature feels like it falls apart when you’re beating the hell out of anything and everything in the arena, or simply when you see them out in the field. I get it’s just gameplay for the sake of it, but it’s funny in a way.
Currently working on IB Platinum, missing 6 crowns and recently killed 79 scarred Garugas... It certainly was for balance

Having been along for the monster hunter ride since 3U, it is so amazing to see how far the franchise has come and how mainstream it became and rightfully so. In my honest opinion, the best co-op game ever made.
