Phenomenal that they figured out, and are selling a way to load the power amp stage and not the preamp (while keeping volume down too). The main goal of the AC15VR amp was to create a lighter, more dependable and more affordable version of the AC15. For this reason, the AC15VR has a solid state power amp, which is much lighter, more dependable and less expensive than a tube power amp. In addition, a 12AX7 preamp tube was used in between the solid state pre and power amp to simulate the tonal distortion of a tube power amp. This is referred to by Vox as the 'valve reactor' approach (hence the 'VR' in the name ;).
@@martijn_yt Yes I'm aware, considering the actual Beatles's sponsored gear was Vox's Solid State line of amps. Can't beat a full Vox valve sound (pre-amp and output tubes) and playing response. The thing is the C1 is significantly heavier than the VR so if you are lugging stuff around all the time or for practice it makes sense.

Abs!!

Giuliam Uchima Fala Giuliam!
