- Metal detecting the moon phases along the Treasure Coast. There are many overlooked technics used to put more odds and less luck into the hunt, moon phases is just one of these. A favorable moon phase along with wind and large swell direction are the number one thing we look at for future hunts.

What an honor to meet you today. THANK YOU for the help with the settings on our detector. I can't believe the person who I loved to hear advice from on You Tube would so kindly help me and I DID NOT RECOGNIZE him. Today was our 2nd day Metal detecting and you are absolutely right is something new learned every time. God Bless and I really hope to see more videos and find you again... Terry Shannon, I just bought your book about Treasure Coast metal detecting. It will help a lot for my trip I’m planning for winter of next year to the Treasure Coast. I believe you have to search areas that have proven to produce items. I haven’t had much luck in the Cape San Blas FL area so I’m looking forward to next year. Thanks for sharing your knowledge that has taken many years to acquire. Good luck and maybe I will meet you on the beach somewhere detecting.

This is crazy man I’m telling you I go down there and hit everything north of Sebastian all the way down south of Wabasso ....all right and up doing is exercising and finding junk it’s very frustrating .... I won’t give up maybe one day you be kind enough to meet me out there even though I’ve watch your videos and followed your tips and now I have a new one with the moon phases even though I kind of knew that info because I’m a fisherman just not doing so well on the dirt fishing I guess .....thanks for posting the video hope to see you on the beach sometime
I would like to meet you out there. The biggest thing is the ability to read the beach. The first one is always the hardest. I remember thinking it was never going to happen and then it just opened up. That first Spanish coin is a real thrill. I live in Melbourne beach but only the winter months. Terry thanks for your videos. They inspired me to buy a metal detector while im here passing this CV19 thing, as soon beaches were open i started driving almost 2 hours 3 or 4 times a week to the treasure coast to learn how to use my nox800, hope i can meet you one day. I just bought your book yesterday from Phil from Meyers metal detectors as soon he got them. I alraedy started reading it and learning, Thanks again.

I bought a nice metal detector last year. I havnt found much yet the few times I’ve had a chance to take it out. But! I’m moving to Ft Myers in 1.5 years... just found a house there. We close in April. I cannot wait to go digging for treasure! I’m very grateful for the helpful tips in your videos! 😊

I recently bought your book when I visited the McLarty Museum in October, and read it immediately. I loved it! Small world, I am from Glyndon, MN. I Just started metal detecting about a year ago. I like your video's hope you continue.....I did a lot of beach metal detecting back in the 80's and 90's on the treasure coast and found lot's of stuff before they started filling the beaches. Mostly Spanish ship stuff and WW11 stuff. Trying to get back into it again I live on the treasure coast. I used a Mine lab X Caliber 2...... maybe see you on the beach!

I moved to Melbourne a couple years ago and have been metal detecting with my fiancé recently more often. We live by Eau Gallie, and usually detect down by Bonsteel park and Sebastian.
Would love to meet with you next time your down here and hit the beaches!
We have a great time out there even when we just end up cleaning up cans and bottle tops! Any recommendations on some beaches in the area you’ve had good relic luck?

I guess that works out for you with that sand and few seashells. I've cut my feet too many times, and on the shovel. Have to stay in perfect health to detect!
Hi Terry. I have watched all your videos and really enjoyed them. I am hoping to start this. I am in Florida too and my nearest beaches are an hour away from me or a bit more. Clearwater and St. Pete. I hope they are as good as yours on the East coast. So far I only have a cheap small detector but hope if I find something it will get up graded in time. I'm also getting interested in shells so I'll be on the look out for what's on the surface too. My problem is that by the time I get to the beach I think I have missed the low tide.
Watch the moon phases, a full moon or new moon will give you a much better chance with the bigger tide. Keep swinging and it will happen. Everything good I ever found was a surprise you just have to be out there to find it. Terry

They have a saying along the treasure coast ( if you don't know don't throw ) I found some neat things when I was first starting out that I had no idea what it was until someone told me. Good luck and talk to others it's amazing the help out there. Terry

Detecting Wabasso during a storm at 3:00 in the morning, with wooden pilings coming in with each wave, and suddenly you look up and there is a guy waiting atop the 8 foot cut. Things we will do to find treasure.

I love your videos! I have learned so much... I am a rookie with my ACE 350 metal detector and have found some basic coins and stuff on California Beaches... Is the ACE 350 decent enough to find rings??? Ya think? Do I need the fancy $1000+ detectors?
JW I think the 350 is a great machine and it should serve you well. The secret is to just really learn what your detector is telling you and that just comes with experience. Good luck Terry

Hi, what do you think about searching around close to a jetty? I live in Ft. Lauderdale and was going to the state park figuring that the gold, etc. would get stopped by the jetty?

terry love your videos I have a question about your detector I have a excel 2 and a beach hunter. the sovereign gt you swing are their any models to stay away from? digging more trash the treasure
Scott the 3 detectors you mentioned are all great detectors. I don't have the beach hunter but it's my understanding that it does a great job. I believe that a multi frequency detector will work better on a highly mineralized beaches. I just started using the equinox 800 and I am really impressed with it. Terry

Katie I live at Melbourne beach and detect the beaches from the inlet north to Patricks Air Force Base.
