For 50 dollars and having bad handling noise is not good especially when it's from a brand like Se electronics. I don't usually hold my mics but if i was in the mood too this is a let down
Just pumpin em out today! Some incredible off axis on it. Couldnt hear $#!t on any of the off axis positions. Is the capsule not shock mounted internally?
It sounds quite good, and like you, I almost never hold a microphone in my hand. The price is comparable to the SM48 up here, but I think I prefer the sound of the V2. Definitely usable (if you mount it).
Oof, yeah... the sound is great - for me when I'm using mics mostly on an arm - would be great. But I don't feel using that in anything like karaoke or something. I think even the old mics I recently bought for like $10-15 had better handling noise rejection lol. In $50 space I think I'd look how it compares to EM-89D - my prediction is it will win soundwise, but the handling noise will be way better on Mackie. May remember it wrongly though!
I sooo agree with you on this one. sE is one of my favorites, and rarely let me down. I picked up a couple of V2 mics and came away with the same results on my test. How this handling noise slipped through their QC is beyond me. Otherwise, such a nice mic. Maybe if you used it while wearing oven mitts, I dunno....
I'm confused u gave this soundwise 9, but u gave the v3 an overall rating of only 7!! And the v3 even handled the plosives a lot better and the handling noise was halved! Also, u said u wished u had this sound in a better box for 70 bucks - isn't that exactly what v3 is?! Or does the v2 truly sound better than all of the more expensive sE models?! 😱
Wow… that’s a bummer that a handheld mic can’t be held by your hand lol.
The one.... Thing... It has to do
So, it makes noise only when you touch it ... I'm not gonna say it. (It sounds pleasant tho!)
☝️Yes... Only when touched.....

Sad but true
Tooo bad that even been fully gripped still generates that annoying noise... Shame on you sE!
Definitely disappointing

It IS.... and it doesn't matter
And yeah I've been recording a lot

........
I can't handle it (that's what she said). Sounds good but unfortunately is terrible at the one job it's supposed to fill...
Btw you should check out the SE 4400a if you haven't. I have one and love the sound out of it but it is a bit expensive.
I almost bought one a while back and I probably should have.... Cause it sounds GREAT in all the videos I've seen
So long story short, if I intend on using it mounted only is it worth my buck?
100% yes
I was thinking about buying this, the sm48 or saving up for the sm58
pass on this one unless you are mounting it. If you are mounting it, it does sound quite good
that on off switch would make it great for handheld stuff... and then the handling noise kills it
ah well
What can ya do
Good looking, good sounding, except of course for the handling noise. The mic ain't bad, either! 🤣
The v3 is $70. How does it compare when it comes to handling noise? I'm assuming you kept the v3 since you were a fan of the sound 😁
I keep VERY few mics sadly.... V3 was not one of them
Mount it and forget it! 😉
Only option
That’s what she said 😂

Would be a good comp to do
I have the same feelings about the Mackie em89 d. It sounds great but the handling noise makes it basically usuable.
Hmmmm I’ll have to hook mine up. I don’t remember the em89d being bad but I may have just forgotten

Heck I think oven mits would still be noisy
No it isn't fine. I wouldn't dare use that for karaoke night. That handling is atrocious.
Did I say it was fine?
Roger Daltrey does not approve.
WHO?
LOL

To me the v3 was a little rattling up top, and I actually prefer this to the sound of the v7 🤷. It's literally my favorite sE handheld SOUND WISE
@@ObscureMics Damn. Well, the handling noise is def too much... I'm thinking of getting the v3 or v7 🤔
Thanks For the video! Wonder if the body can be stuffed with something, or if that would even help? But hey… it has a switch! Ha Ha😂
Maybe stuffed with gak.... Remember that stuff?
@@ObscureMics Yuuuuup
Sounds preety good just don't use it for karaoke and keep it on a boom arm or something.
Yuuuuup
Got this for vocals on a boom arm in front of my piano.
I listened to it again today. So good if not held.
