Thanks so much for this! My biggest challenge with sewins is keeping my scalp moisturized without making my weave greasy. Can you please show us how you apply the dry shampoo afterwards & the weave wash to remove extra oil from weave? Thanks!😍
Hi my name is Christina I just finish watching your video cause I was curious on how to maintain a short weave that I will be getting. Thanks for sharing this video it really heaps a lot.
Thank you! I am a wig wearer and i just did another big chop after a year of stunted growth and then a fried blow out. The fact that my hair grew better relaxed than natural while protective styling lets me know I wasn't taking proper care of it.

Alby Sutton-Alawoya you should not air dry them overnight or at all the water will get trapped under all those baids and start to smell you should always use a blow dryer to dry the hair and never leave it soaking wet
+Nq R but doesn't that defeat the object of moisturizing, I try not to use heat on my hair as much as possible. I do moisturise but I find that the different fragrances from all of the products mixed together can be overpowering. Someone suggested rose water. Can anyone please offer some tips. I wear weaves occasionally.
I love how detailed and helpful this video was, I have one question: when you do this, the weave will be very oily I imagine because the oils are going to get on the weave as well as ur natural hair, sooo do u wash it out after or do u leave it in?? How do u not get the weave oily? Especially because the sew in I’m going to have is going to be curly.
This was a great video.I know what to do,for extra moisture.I have a sew in now,and I want to take care.Of my hair underneath. Also ,thank you for the take tip.I definitely ,don't want any breakage. You gave us ,some helpful information.I loved watching this video. God 🙌 you!!🙏👍❤
hello i just got my sew in installed saturday. what if i can’t reach under my scalp? should i wait until the new growth comes in and loosens up my hair?
Thank u so very much, I most definitely NEEDED this tip cuz I just got my 1st Sew-In last week & my hair is itching like crazie ... I haven't done much to it but oil my scalp but it weighed my weave down so now I know what to do & how to take care of my real hair & the weave while in this protective style !!! OMG I'm so glad I found this video, thanks so much !!! 🤗🤗🤗
how would you recommend taking care of a frontal ? i'm considering getting a weave but I'm an avid moisturizer and I am concerned with not being able to do so with a frontal
Thank you so much for doing this tutorial. It is well needed. I have never worn a weave before but started about 6 months ago so that I can grow my perm out and let my hair grow. Well it has probably broke off because the stylist has not or informed me that I should moisturize. I tried to put some on it because it's common sense. And it believe it broke off last install 😩😩😩 I wish you were near me. I will start doing this so that I can retain my healthy hair. THANK YOU SOOO MUCH. I am now subscribed!!
Does the dry shampoo work because that's one thing I always worry about is having limp greasy weave.. sad to say I'd skip on moisturizing until I was ready to completely wash my weave.
Thanks a lot for these tips. I do work out like 4 times a week and sweat a lot especially underneath my weave. I do rinse out the sweat with normal water everytime I do so. Do you have any tips for post work out weave/crochet braids care? Thanks a lot in advance:)
I have been natural for years and have not experienced any growth. I have decided to start a You Tube based journey about me being better educated on my own hair and taking the time to better care for my hair. I'm on a journey for healthier, longer hair. I will mention you in my videos! Thanks for the tips! Subscribe!
thank you for making this video I have seen lots of breakage with my hair when wearing a sew in. And I always wondered why my hair would break off after I would take it out...now I know the reason why. This video has helped me out a lot...just wanted you to know that.
It's difficult to prevent the weave to get greasy that why i only do a hot oil treatment for the hair under the weave few days before i go wash the weave.
These are great tips! However, have you ever tried Girl and Hair products? I use their products for sew ins and they have the best "under protective style" products on the market. I don't work for them, but am a loyal customer because the products are so good! Check the out!
Amanda Pettway she said yes but recommends using dry shampoo to combat that. I think I'll be okay just using the braid spray and moisturizer. Maybe just out a little oil sometimes and don't get it on the hair
I learned so much from this.i never took care of my hair .now I see why my hair always broke off
I love that you don't use a stocking or net cap, that way you can get to the scalp. This is what I do with my natural texture hair.
Thanks so much for this! My biggest challenge with sewins is keeping my scalp moisturized without making my weave greasy. Can you please show us how you apply the dry shampoo afterwards & the weave wash to remove extra oil from weave? Thanks!😍
definitely needed this. can you do an episode on how to wash your weave? and what to use when washing and conditioning.
omg... this is so unrealted, but i could listen to her voice all day! she sounds just like my grandmother, lol i can fall asleep to her voice!!😂😂😍
Imani Carroll awe sweet ^_^

Yes, I realized that when my hair stays soft the grow longer 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾

Has anyone experienced any sort of a mildewy type of smell from dampening the braids multiple times per week?
Alby Sutton-Alawoya you should not air dry them overnight or at all the water will get trapped under all those baids and start to smell you should always use a blow dryer to dry the hair and never leave it soaking wet

Alby Sutton-Alawoya yes. This is why I stop weaving and make and wear wigs only Bc of that sole reason
Monsie Babe this is sooo late lol but you could blow dry on cool to avoid putting heat on your hair
Alby Sutton-Alawoya I thought the same..
🙋🏾🙋🏾🙋🏾....So...will this make my weave oily or heavy....i want my install to flow & bounce 💇🏾🙆🏾? It looks really good u did an amazing job 😁😁😁😁.

Thank you for this. I’m getting my first sew in this weekend and want to take care of it properly.
I moisturize my hair whenever it feels dry, so it could be more than 2-3x a week. Everybody’s hair is different
Hi, Tamika, amazing she has beautiful hair and I usse that moisturizer my hair is growing. Have a wonderful and blessed day.
Awesome 😎
How do you keep the weave from getting greasy?
Kayla Wright try dry shampoo

Is there any other weave hair care video? Didn’t see one
Here in 2020!
Does the dry shampoo work because that's one thing I always worry about is having limp greasy weave.. sad to say I'd skip on moisturizing until I was ready to completely wash my weave.
It depends on how oily your weave is. Sometimes I will wash just the weave hair without washing the braids if it gets too oily.
@Kayla Neal ....I use Tresseme dry shampoo it works...and it's not oily
Do you have any tips for moisturizing under net weaves?
You can use an applicator bottle with your ingredients in it to get under the net.
Simply Tamika thank you!
This is the best video
Love this video. Did you do this process of clean hair or how frequently is this process recommended
Thanks a lot for these tips. I do work out like 4 times a week and sweat a lot especially underneath my weave. I do rinse out the sweat with normal water everytime I do so. Do you have any tips for post work out weave/crochet braids care? Thanks a lot in advance:)
I am curious about this as well

I LOVE your top!! Where did you get it?
+Kndome Thanks. I believe I got it at Ann Taylor Loft.
Doesnt the braids begin to smell mildewy from the moisturizing 2 to three times a week?? 🤷🏾♂️
If you have box braids can you put extra virgin oil to make your hair grow ? 💕
yafavv. shortyy Yes you can
favvv. shortyy your hairs gonna smell with olive oil
What do u put on your hair before going to sleep

@@SimplyTamikahow do you prevent the oil from getting on the weave?
It's difficult to prevent the weave to get greasy that why i only do a hot oil treatment for the hair under the weave few days before i go wash the weave.
Thank you I didn't know that not in that way
What do you do if oil and other product gets on the weave hair? I don't want the hair to stop being bouncy and flowy. Do I have to wash and flat iron?
Dry shampoo!
Miss you on periscope! This was great to see. Thank you
+Olubukola Oriowo Awww. I miss you too!
Would there by any differences for relaxed hair?
Thank you for sharing this video. Really informative!
Does this prevent sores. I’m having some, it’s not tight (in a month)
Do you recommend doing this before wrapping at night or in the morning?
I would assume at night so you can let it soak in overnight! I’m going to try this tonight
@@soccerqueen4life2 thanks! Makes sense.
Is this a process something you have to do everyday? Also how do you prevent product build up?
3 times per week. You shampoo every two weeks.
Hi can you list the products.
Hey girl!!!! Great video! this will be a favorite.
TFS
+JuanitaB Neet Thank you!
Great video thx for the tips.
Is it good to oil my scalp right before a new weave put in
When having a sew in is it ok to not use a net then?
Thank you so much!!!
Can you do mines
Nice!
+Rosannasfriend Thank you!
How can I do this with a full closure no leave out?
You can use an applicator bottle with your products in it to reach under the closure.
Can the tips you give be used with box braids and Senegalese twists
+The Queen of Curls I wouldn't do all three steps. I would just use the braidspray only.
how often do u recommend doing this?
+V2B2010 2-3 times per week
Thanks!
Off topic.... But what kind of nail polish is that?
I believe that it's chrome over gel polish. My nail tech paints and then puts a chrome dust over it to make it shiny and blingy.
Did she have a net sewn on under her wefts?
No. There’s no net.
How often should one do this?
How to prepare hair for weave please
Good topic.
Do you still use these products?! Just came across this video.
Can you tell me where to find this hair? I can't seem to find Hallie's Curls anywhere.
They went out of business years ago.
Wow so informative! Thank you. BTW your voice is so soothing
What is a braids spray?
It’s a light weight spray that is formulated specifically for applying to braided hair.
Headgear video pls
Are you from Baltimore?
These are great tips! However, have you ever tried Girl and Hair products? I use their products for sew ins and they have the best "under protective style" products on the market. I don't work for them, but am a loyal customer because the products are so good! Check the out!
Thank you. I have not tried those before.
Wouldn’t the weave be greasy 🧐
Yes but it’s sacrificing for a goal.
which products are u using?
The products are listed below.
Would this process make the weave oily?
Amanda Pettway she said yes but recommends using dry shampoo to combat that. I think I'll be okay just using the braid spray and moisturizer. Maybe just out a little oil sometimes and don't get it on the hair

+marlee Moore I'm slow. ???
marlee Moore LoL I'm with u, Idk what the $$$ bags means ?!? 🤔😏
Not a good idea... this creates product buildup. You get your hair to grow by keeping your scalp clean & stimulated.
I don't think you should add products under a weave. Sounds like a recipe for disaster. Eeewwww!!!!!
