Proud to be a son of a Pakistani soldier who took part in the rescue operation. My dad was a Major at that time and he was a gunner on the cobra gunship helicopter. He has lot of memories of his tenure in Somalia in UN Mission. I remember he shared one of his painful memory when he was ordered to engage the Somalian jeep having RR and 12.7 mm on it. which was ready to target the UN convey. He told us that when he saw from telescope while sitting on the gunner seat, there were 5 people on it one was a woman having a baby on her lap. They used them as human shield. He refused to hit becoz at that time I was 2 years old and he told us that at that moment I came on his mind and he refused to hit that RR jeep. But when the UN convey got engaged by those people he pressed the red button and the TOW Missile went off from the Cobra. And in few second there was nothing left except the burning wreckage. Real battle was 100 times more bloody then this. WAR IS DEADLY WAR IS PAINFUL. Respect for the soldiers who lost their lives in Somalia no matter what country they belong.

@@LoveVP_ Yes it's sad it's often left out. I've read all the books and watched Black Hawk Down many times and have a lot of respect for the US troops but we do have to remember the other nations who were involved.
Here is a quote to look through. In 1993, Aidid's fighters attacked Pakistani UN forces, resulting in 24 dead. The US authorities subsequently put a $25,000 bounty on the faction leader's head and attempted to arrest and try him for war crimes. On October 3, 1993, by the order of President Bill Clinton, a force of United States Army Rangers and Delta Force operators set out to capture several officials of Aidid's militia in an area of Mogadishu controlled by him. Although technically successful, with the capture of several "tier-one personalities", the operation did not completely go as planned. Between 500 and 1500 Somalis, as well as 18 American soldiers and one Malaysian soldier, died in the ensuing Battle of Mogadishu (1993). As a result of a downed Blackhawk air assault helicopter, Warrant Officer-Pilot Michael J. Durant from 160th SOAR was also held captive by militants for 11 days. He recalls in his book, In the Company of Heroes, that he believed that he may have seen General Aidid behind the cameraman as he was being filmed briefly by film reporters during his captivity.

October 3, 1993 I left for the US Army I thought for sure I'd be going somewhere to fight either the Somalis or in Iraq but the 3rd ACR never deployed during my time and ultimately I made one of the most difficult decisions in my life at the time and got out in 97. I stood ready, I am proud to have served. No regrets. Respect to those who gave it all. Clinton should hang along with other guilty parties for their failure to act. My brother in law was listening to the radio traffic that day while serving in the Navy and to this day he is emotional and disturbed by this experience and the failure to act, react, save lives, retaliate, execute and elimate. It hurts me to see him hurt as it does all those who deployed and served. I'm 46 now and the world has gone crazy, not too old to fight yet.
We watched this several times while we were training at Camp Pendleton for deployment to Iraq, Summer 2004. We had no idea that, a few months later, we’d experience much of the same during the 2nd Battle of Fallujah… weird to think about now…

Of course. They was part of the mission. Our people wouldn't wouldn't of made it out if not for them. -Sgt. Eversmann and Hoot became friends. It's like Hoot was his guardian angel and reminded him of what should be done. -Gordon and Shugart who have been friends from the beginning playing chess and arresting Atto together since they are both delta snipers. Came down together like badasses bestfriends. -Grimes and Sanderson became friends. As seen to when he reminded Grimes not to be close to the wall where rpg hits, second rpg when it almost hit grimes, to grimes making the coffee, and the end where sanderson made the coffee when they were already at the stadium. -Twombly and Nelson sticked with each other since the battle and survived together. The ending where Twomby hugged him like saying, "Good job, Nelson. We are safe now." -Hoot looking at the helmet of one of the delta snipers in the crash site 2 in despair and sadness. (Hoot is a delta) I love all the friendships built.

Fathers that will lost their sons, women that will become widows prematurally, sons who will never meet their fathers... It's so sad, but this is how it is. At least americans can appreciate the sacrifice of their heroes and honor them. RIP.
You should make a 30th anniversary tribute it would be awesome, thank you man.
Incredible editing! Well done sir
every time, when i see the Film or sequences of it, i'll have to cry softly..
I wish i was there, to fight with these american brothers..

I am from india. I have watched this movie the scenes made me cry. I have deep respect for our Indian army nd to those soldiers who lost their lives fighting for humanity. This movie is great. Respect for all those soldiers who lost their lives in Battle of Mogadishu. 😊🙏🙏
What has the indian army have to do with all this?

India didnt do shit in somali
I'm 46 now and the world has gone crazy, not too old to fight yet.
similar time frames for me too, but I was uk , but this stuck with me ,was last time I was proud to wear my uniform.
il stand with u mate
We watched this several times while we were training at Camp Pendleton for deployment to Iraq, Summer 2004. We had no idea that, a few months later, we’d experience much of the same during the 2nd Battle of Fallujah… weird to think about now…
A very good film. Remember all the soldiers who died back then. brothers in arms
La mejor película de guerra que he visto, muestra el lado idealista y humano que viven los soldados en combate. Lo que la hace especial es que de verdad ocurrieron esos hechos, paz a las almas de los soldados caídos.
This movie will never get old
October 3rd & 4th 1993, GOD BLESS 🙏
Thank you for your service
To the fallen! Good shit, bro.
Thanks for comment., I did my best. Of course, this is a tragic event, in which people died:-(
Im one of the us allies i wish they survived especially gary Gordon and shugart
TO THE FALLEN
@@Seb7579-q9s the percentage of them surviving is close to 0 actually. They were incredibly outnumbered and outgunned by hundreds of Somalis.

Remember 100 Malaysians armed with APC came to resqued American rangers,
They are heroes too going out into the shitstorm to save American, lives
the stadium was under control by Pak Army under UN which rescued American soldiers...but as usual it was all skipped just to shown US heroism ....kudos to all men in uniform
Exactly & truth
Salute to our fallen heroes
MALAYSIAKu NEGARAKu.. 🐯🇲🇾
Of course. They was part of the mission. Our people wouldn't wouldn't of made it out if not for them. All in all my country's leadership is far to arrogant and has some sort of belief our guys are invincible then hand cuff them damn near when sending them into battle. A lot of respect to our allies who are always a major requirement for successful engagements.
God Bless them
Respect from France.
Who remembers in the movie when Maddox got glass in his eyes and couldn’t see and McKnight - Danny had to drive and got shot in the neck
Great flick and soundtrack. I also highly recommend the book by Mark Bowden. It was based on his excellent series for the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Back in the days when movies of true heroes were made
A tragic event but one of the best movies of our time....
the movie waz filmed in my city , seeing all those black hawks and little birds humvees and tanks the sound of bombing and gunz the black smokes all over the hood it waz a good experience

Damn good movie.based on a true story.thank you.and thanks for your service in the United States military.

This film brings so much emotion and love . I never been in a war thankfully but I can almost imagine how things are on both ends . I guess war is like a spanner ... It works to its broken , why try to fix it
You must read "All Secure" by Tom Satterly, Delta operator in the battle.

God bless the men that died and their families .
We are safe now."
-Hoot looking at the helmet of one of the delta snipers in the crash site 2 in despair and sadness. (Hoot is a delta)
I love all the friendships built.

Actually during the raid only 18 American soldiers died. The 19th soldier died 2 days later when a mortar shell killed him. And the crew with the Gary and Randall were not missing but killed. But still respect to these fallen men. RIP to soldiers of Black Hawk Down.
