Here’s a bit. Have put about 60,000 self tapping 6x40 mm screws in. Loved it when it was brand new. Have taken it apart heaps for general cleaning. After 30,000 screws (approx) I noticed the hammer anvil showing big wear. Significantly more than my Makita’s. However the Hitachi has a sealed bearing up front as opposed to archaic bush set up. As such , it doesn’t suffer speed wobbles after a couple of months ...like my makita’s .

That is great feedback. That kind of long-term test is just what people need.

Between the innovations, promos, etc. most importantly the tools get it done. I’m seeing much light green as I load out as well baseball dude! I do wish they refined their production @ finish. but where it really counts they’re doing many things right.

You put your hex bit in, your screw bit out, in out...shake it all about....you do the HiKoki and you turn around...that's what it's all about.

Had Hitachi for about 10 years, just a basic impact driver and two 2.5ah batteries to start. The new stuff is superb. Just picked up this unit so I'm keen to find out how it handles.

I wonder if it will include the Lady Massager as well?

Hitachi released new 36V version of this impact driver, exactly the same size, they added juice left indicator on 36V battery, they say there is less overheating chance, and higher screwing performance when battery below 50%

maybe ask Hitachi distributor, I wonder how this 36V battery behaves on 18V tool, will it use whole capacity, or half, whether performance is similar to 5Ah ...

I have been using the 18V and the 36V
The 36 V is definitely even more powerful and runs cooler than the 18V but the two 18V triple hammers have been holding up for over 4 yrs

very good review...for the settings : the first one is for the really small scews you can`t use with other impact drivers (just too powerful) and for the front bitholder, many others like milwaukee, makita, bosch and others, are not bigger. and the 3-5 year warranty is really a thing...
