Agree with your anti-heliocentric prognosis. I've been predicting it for a decade, it just took this long to have a team that put it all together. James Brown T-Shirt: 7.5/10
I understand the Tatum and Brown questions, I just believe it's irrelevant. Both are great players and leaders. Both are making a great case to be hall of famers one day. We've proven that we can win with the both of them. Whatever it takes
Ive been saying our starters should start for team USA for well over a month now. Probably around time the playoffs started. Actually it was when KP went down vs miami. But glad you finally bring it up.
I agree that Jaylen is the better scorer. He is more efficient and more clutch. Jayson is a way better distributor. Jaylen is an inefficient distributor and Jayson is an inefficient scorer. If Jaylen does slightly better distributing and more scoring and Jayson does slightly better scoring and more distributing then I do not see anyone beating this duo. 25, 10, & 10 is kind of a lot but ~20, ~10, and ~10 is fair for Tatum. ~30, ~5 and ~5 for Brown.
JB could easily lead the league in scoring if he had a pass first point whatever. Unfortunately he has tatum who still wants to jack up the most shots. Dude will be 5-21 and put up 3 more while JB is 8-11
Tatum has averaged more points on better efficiency literally every season they've played you 🤡 Tatum also has way better clutch #s than brown Casual asss
I agree but kinda disagree with the idea of not "needing" to trade Marcus Smart. Obviously, given that the C's tried to trade Brogdon first, that's kinda true. But what the C's NEEDED was a viable, above-average #3 option on offense. Marcus was, arguably, their third best player... just not good enough, and Brad knew it. THAT's why their offense would hit walls. By adding a Porzingis, would Marcus have accepted (along with the emergence of Derrick White as a CLEARLY superior offensive player) being the 5th option on offense? Mostly, I think he would have...but I'm not 100% sure. There's that chaos/occasional bad decision-making thing. Sorry, but I never fully TRUSTED Marcus. Still prone to too many "whuuuuut?" plays that made no sense--not even talking about his shooting. Meanwhile, Jrue is possibly the MOST trustworthy player, maybe in the entire NBA.
I love smart. Love…. But we needed him to step down as a leader to allow the jays to truly blossom and I just cannot see him doing that. As such.. Brad needed to move him for us to win it all. Super tough call, but hard to argue the results.
Unselfish TEAM ball is why the Celtics led the league all season long straight to the 🏆. Idiots at ESPN just see heliocentric Luka "magic" and the 🐑🐑 laid $ on the Mavs despite Vegas computation favoring the C's. No sympathy for the 🐑 who lost $. Anyone watching the C's all season knew TEAM ball would dominate!
Hi just wondering if you have insights in that recent story that Wyc actually only owns 2% of the Celtics and majority is with his 90 year old dad ? Any truth in that? That would be big in that it would suggest the sale is really for estate planning instead of cashing in on high team valuation before the big luxury tax bill kicks in. I’m actually ok with either story just curious as to what the actual development is.
Well his dad is the owner of there finances and wyc just acting as owner in place of his 89 year old father. But ultimately his dad is in charge and when he says it’s time to hang it up you do wyc had 2 kids I believe but there is no interest at least from an outside perspective that they have any desire to take over. So it’s either sell high or risk the value dropping
The Celtics can keep their entire roster active between the Boston and Maine Celtics. KP is out most of the regular season and Al Horford will likely continue to play every other game. Then you have the roster spots in Maine to fill out. So basically, 16.5 guys to split between Boston and the starting lineup of Maine. I expect Luke and Tillman to eat up a lot of KP and Horford minutes and Queta to share his time between both clubs. Same deal for JD Davison. Hopefully, Springer gets more minutes this year now that he knows the system.
You can't tell me smart was content when it came to who was going to lead the team and had a higher self-worth then what was reality. And of course there was never any tension between the Jays and Marcus besides the chairs flying across the locker room😅
I don't really care how Nomar treated the media. People ragged on Belichick for the same reason, and if you work in the media, I can see how that would matter to you. But it doesn't matter to fans. How Nomar treated his teammates, manager, etc. is, of course, a different story. But I take some of the things being said about him with a grain of salt, since there was a pattern of dirty laundry being aired by the Red Sox every time a star player left town, or was traded. In that case, obviously trading him worked out pretty well for the team. But if his career wasn't derailed by injuries he would have been an easy Hall of Famer, so the comparison is hardly insulting to Marcus Smart.
The Tatum vs Brown debate is tiresome, but... people are somehow forgetting Tatum has been first team All-NBA the past three seasons. Also: I agree that the Celtics have a more team based approach that don't require any one player to score 30 every night. But Tatum actually exemplifies this, since he can score, rebound, and distribute at a high level and also defend against all positions at a high level. Outside of Lebron James, there's been no one else in the league (at least not recently) to have that kind of versatility doing everything. That is another main reason he's the Celtics best player. Note: I don't mean to take anything away from Jaylen Brown, who is also fantastic (he should've been third team All-NBA over Booker), has turned into the team leader, and was probably their best player in the playoffs. It's just that "Who is the Celtics' best player overall?" is a question with a very clear answer over the past several seasons, and I don't think the answer has changed. People have short memories.
In a certain sense, I agree with the mentality of "they're all the best player," since that's a good mentality for the team to have. But in another sense, it's obviously not true. Just look at the contracts they are signing. Clearly the Boston Celtics don't believe that the value of all their players is the same. It's possible to recognize that and also appreciate the way the team actually plays as a team and expect that to continue.
JB >jt JB a much better scorer and on ball defender. Yes jt gets boards and assist but he plays down low and brings the ball up so he absolutely should.
If pingus was healthy for the finals. After that first game... No doubt in my mind that he would have been the finals m v p because dallas had no answer
If you want to see who they would LOVE to develop into an Al replacement, it's Watson. Don't laugh--not a doubt in my mind they think he could have that kind of upside.
Agreed john. This is the spider-verse. Everybody's got a shot to be the best player but everybody doesnt care. Make the right play. its about THEM. not HIM. The best thing that could happen to him is Sam leaves next offseason.
