Getting doubled isn’t having a help man look at you when you have the ball. Getting doubled is when you get the ball and two men run up on you and play defense on you simultaneously. They definitely don’t do that to Tatum.

Tatum is the more well rounded player in terms of scoring, rebounding & facilitating. Brown has the edge on the defensive end, both are superstars in their own right. I’m sure they don’t care who ppl say is better, they need each other to accomplish what really matters.

I agree that Brown should get the CFMVP because he played better in that SERIES and deserved it. Tatum has proven to be the best player but can struggle with consistency in the playoffs. Brown is a great player in his own right and he is generally more consistent. Doesnt make him the better player though.
And Brown making that comment isnt out of spite but merely saying tatum woke up in THAT game. He didnt score in the 4th and as the best player on the team you have to be able to put up something in the 4th quarter regardless of how you are shooting that night. They both challenge each other and use each other for motivation on to improve and be the best versions they can.

I only have two gripes with Browns overall game….inconsistent free throw shooting the last few years & reckless at times turnovers. Otherwise he’s improved immensely every year offensively, his defense is elite and he plays with an edge. I love having him on the Boston Celtics and watching him grow as a player has been awesome.
I've been saying since the warriors finals that Brown is the best player on that team. The media is in love with Tatum for some reason.

Remember how much time he spent arguing with everyone about how the pacers can win the series and how good the pacers are and how they play such a great team game, what happened to the bet with Gill? Gill said it would be a sweep and then to be nice Gil gave them the benefit of the doubt, and said they would lose by the gentleman's sweep. Where is Gill's credit? Maybe I need to watch the entire pod but I feel like Rashad is always wrong and he never admits it after the fact. last year it was Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart bailing out Tatum. This year it's been Porzingus and Brown and in the playoffs it's been Brown. Tatum's game towards driving to the basket isn't that good, even when he's defended by one good defender.
Gils logic is very sound in this one, and for a boston fan mccants clearly isnt watching the games, tatum has been getting doubled and tripled all playoffs and still leads the team in every major stat, imo jaylen brown did deserve ecf mvp but he also has an easier time getting to his spots because of how teams gaurd tatum. Its very clear that tatum is the best because he gets treated like the best because if he wasnt the Celtics would be way better. Nobody gaurds a teams second best player like that.

Valid points on both side. Honestly, the ECF MVP could've gone to either Tatum or Brown, but I'm glad Brown got it. Like Gil said, they both contribute in different ways. Tatum will get you buckets, boards n assists n Brown will also get you buckets while being very effective on the defensive side. Brown's proven to be one of the better 2 way players in this league n he's only gonna get better from here. Both played amazing against the Pacers, but I think the thing that stands out is how much Brown improved compared to last season
what makes them so scary as a duo is the fact they BOTH are great 2 way players, both defensively and offensively they are above average

I’m actually leaning towards Brown being slightly better than Tatum right now. He’s starting to read the defense better and make the correct plays. Tatum sometimes like to get to trigger happy at the 3 pt line and that allows opponents back into the game when he ain’t making them. Brown shot selections are better than Tatum’s and defensively he’s better.
