I loved his work around 2002-2006. Really powerful and tons of energy. Not sure why he doesn’t like timeless coz most of his tracks during that era sounds very similar. These days it’s really hard to come up with something fresh and original, because today’s trance so generic and copy paste. This music belongs to that era and never be forgotten and will never die in our hearts!
Ron van den Beuken is the one who inspired me to be music producer. If someday i will be interviewed i will proudly tell that my inspiration for creating music was Ron van den Beuken!
I would really like to see a 2nd interview with Ron, about The mystery, clokx and Floyd project. The story about Devotion and Let it rain (the mystery rmx) would be epic. Also Clokx - Overdrive since all belong to my absolute favorites that I often listen to.
MuzikXpress : I have an impossible mission for you. It is to find "Vincent De Moor". Ask him about his disappearance and of course his hit "Fly Away"...
Oh I have been asked this question like 50 times already hehe.... He left the music industry ages ago, he is a very private person and I spoke to people that used to work with him and he's even very hard to reach for those people. He doesn't want to do any interviews and he has no desire or plans to return to the music industry :( So, the chances of getting a Vincent de Moor interview are like 0,000001 % unfortunately.. :(

What a great interview, Twan! He is very spontaneous and sincere. My favorite tracks: overdrive, Tibet, clocks (like Clokx), headlock with Imogen Heap, twister, sunset, timeless, endless (like Ron van den Beuken). Interesting to know he is kinda a "ghost producer" nowadays, I will dig his stuff. God bless his family and children, maybe we will have 4 producers soon... Teach them his skills, Ronald! Cheers from Brazil. ;)

I spoke to Ron a number of times back when I was a teenager and aspiring producer/DJ. He was a legend. Always approachable and cool to talk to. Even sent gave me a sign copy of ‘Timeless’. Great to see this interview.
Super interview Ron is totally down to earth guy really honest about everything and i understand his choice to stay behind just producing not djing and i understand why he choose Sunrise Festival Sobota Poland as his best the first thing i saw from him was Endless video from that festival amazing atmosphere and energy, and about production my favorite Ron track is Tibet
I really like these interviews. Allways great to hear stories about tracks that has made a big difference in life and more about who made it. Keep on doing the good work. Also I really love that dutch accent when saying "others".
Amazing interview. It’s always amazing to hear the story behind one of these hits. I like him. He has his priorities in check. Family is very important.

I think Ron does focus more on the production than coming up with song titles, not sure, but that's my guess ;-) There's also producers that don't care about social media, don't care about travel or money, as long as they are happy. Not everybody is and thinks the same way and not everybody does care about the same things as others :)
Getting someone else to name your track just sounds wrong imo - youre an artist at the end of the day,its one of the most basic things. Yeah, social media and all that is optional..

Yeah, he is super talented and I think he can make whatever peopel want him to make as you said :) Haha, the way I pronounce "Beuken" is the Dutch way, Ron does it the English way in the interview hehe
I appreciate that, thank you very much! More interviews to come soon! And yes, Ron is great, such a nice and down to earth guy! And very talented of course!
@@muzikxpress maybe i'm ignorant but i love to hear old generation producers like ron, or rolf maier bode, darren tate, ferry corsten. TRANCE ENERGY thank you! And I like to focus on the older / classic stuff from the time I grew up and was listing to music. So most interviews are about tracks that were pre-internet or when internet was still “new”, so I agree haha

I remember hearing "Endless" on the radio in 2004 and quickly reached for my then simplistic mobile phone to record a part of this song. It took a while to find out who produced this track but then i stumbled upon a videoclip of sunrise festival, at which Ron was playing this track. Once i knew what name to look out for, i found other great tracks by him. All these years i didn't know that Clokx is Ron Van Den Beuken as well. Great artists are even greater than you think!
@@muzikxpress yeh it's not ron's style, haven't listened to any stimulator track when he was in it tho i might have a look see how the style has changed.
To me it's okay when producers have to do something they do not like themselves. Producing music is still a job that costs money and they usually need a label to push their music out into every kind of media channel. Musicians often have a lot more creative freedom than the average joe, who simply has to do what is best for his company. I assume RvdB did enough stuff he liked and even though he didn't like "timeless" (the vocal version is bad, and the track itself isn't very creative but still a good party anthem), it helped him with his career. He was able to play his music to a big audience and many years later he's still around. Don't we all have to stuff at work we don't like? Artists have to give interviews, promote themselves, answer silly questions, shoot stupid music videos to gather their audience. We the music fans expect that the artists are totally free and can do whatever they want and those who don't, are just sellouts or boy bands. Even rappers don't do their beats and trance DJs usually don't write their lyrics. In the end the DJ has to make a career and the audience wants to hear good music. Without a good producer, most bands wouldn't make sellable albums. Their should be a balance between commercial songs and the genre specific music (a niche music, like trance still is), between what the artist wants and what the label wants, and also their should be room for some experiments from time to time. Armin van Buuren gets these sell out labels everytime he does something that isn't trance. But he has been making and supporting trance music for so many years, shouldn't he be allowed to do something new? Music listeners are often super critical instead of just accepting that their is a business behind the exciting music world and that we should be thankful for every good, creative and not (super) commercial track. Thank you for the interview, again it was very interesting. Keep up the good work. :)
Wow, thanks so much for the very detailed reply! And indeed, maybe he wasn't behind it at first, I think the sound was so new, that he wasn't sure what to think about it. I'm pretty sure he likes the track now, otherwise I don't think he would have said "yes" to me when I asked him to talk about it for my vlog. Plus as he said in the interview, "Timeless" has been very important for him, so I'm sure he likes it now ;-) Thanks again, glad you enjoyed the interview with Ron!
Ron forgot to tell about Delerious. Remix of Angels Reverse was really beautiful. Also I would ask him why track called Clocks (not the project name clokx in whole) was released as spinnin WL only and why melody was sligthly changed on Gang Go release vinyl (GG087 side b).
"Clocks" was also released on Liquid Recordings. And I guess they changed the melody a bit because maybe they did not get permission to release it as a 100% cover of the Coldplay track. And the subject of this interview was "Timeless", hence I did not ask him about his Delerious project ;-)
Thanks a lot! And the guys of Binary Finary live in Australia and I live in The Netherlands, so.... don't see this happening any time soon, sorry, just being honest ;-)
Well, he does talk about it in the beginning of the interview, but then he said they wanted it to be more agressive, so that's why they made another version (which is now known as the Ron van den Beuken Remix).
Yes, thats right, noted it second time I watched it. Very interresting also that it's his remix that is ''A side'' and original mix is ''B side''. And he did do like this several times, created a melodic trance/tech trance track and did his kind of harder remixes on them (or just remixed like ''A Forest''). Interresting to see that it wasn't himself behind that, I was always thinking he created the originals with just passion and then made the bangers for festivals/rave etc but that wasn't right then.
I bet he was for a lot of people ;-) I also did listen to his stuff when I was growing up, so I think you can imagine I was pretty nervous when I had my interview with Jean-Michel Jarre last year hehe ;-)
In 2014 DJ Mag put together the 100 most important trance tracks - check who is number One ;-) www.trancepodium.com/forums/general-trance-discussions/topics/dj-mags-100-most-important-trance-tracks
I find it shocking how he wasn't behind the track and his hand was forced. I have to wonder how much of this was going on around this time. I've always enjoyed Timeless but I too felt that it was far from his best quality and I always felt a lack of overall quality and feel from trance productions around 2002 -2003. Now that I hear this I can only wonder if this is why so many trance artists were going away by the end of the decade.
He seems to be influenced a lot by the 'record companies', e.g. track names, changes to tracks. Was that normal during that time period? Love Timeless but disappointed he didn't really like what he made (unless I misunderstood that?). Definitely a great artist but he does come across more 'commercial' than others you've interviewed.
great to see that "dutch soberness" in him + open and honest. Haven't spoken to him for years, good to see he's doing good and had no clue he did orchestras.. how cool!

"Clocks" was also released on Liquid Recordings. And I guess they changed the melody a bit because maybe they did not get permission to release it as a 100% cover of the Coldplay track. And the subject of this interview was "Timeless", hence I did not ask him about his Delerious project ;-)

Wow this is amazing, please make the story behind 1999 with Binary Finary and the best Remix from Kaycee, thanks from 🇨🇴 🎵🎶🎼
Thanks a lot! And the guys of Binary Finary live in Australia and I live in The Netherlands, so.... don't see this happening any time soon, sorry, just being honest ;-)
Interresting but they did forgot to ask/talk about the ''original mix'' (piano version) of timeless.
👍 лучшей Ди Джей ❤️
Did Armin make his own cover version of this one? Cause he's calling it an ID
@@masteroftheblaster9523 A new track? I haven’t heard it (yet), so no idea tbh.
I heard the song a while ago, but it took me years to find the song again, all because I misspelled his name as "Rob" instead of "Ron."
Jean-Michel Jarre was also the biggest influence for Armin!
I bet he was for a lot of people ;-) I also did listen to his stuff when I was growing up, so I think you can imagine I was pretty nervous when I had my interview with Jean-Michel Jarre last year hehe ;-)
I think JMJ a major influence for a lot of producers from that generation one way or the other =)

I wouldn't really say he was "forced" tbh haha
@@muzikxpress not the correct choice of words perhaps.
