Absolutely adorable but I like the look of the next (and sadly last) generation of the Escort/Tracer station wagon. I had a 1999 Mercury Tracer LS Sport wagon and I loved it to death. Both generations were damn good cars.
I just can't believe that there are still so many of these survivors out there in this type of condition. Wow! I look forward to seeing these videos, I really do. New car's today are junk.
I used to work on these for a company that used them for service vehicles, they did cash register repairs and everything related. They always had about a dozen of them at any time, they were fairly reliable, but not without their problems, poorly built and with cheap materials, but they would run them to 100k and replace them,I bought 2 of them out of service over the years. But these were not in the same league as a Toyota from that Era,not even close.
I love these cars. So, so, extremely simple and easy to drive, very comfortable even for my height at 6'3". You know where all 4 corners of your car is at all times in this. It is that good. I miss my 99 Escort Wagon but I found the 93 to be way more comfortable for my height. In my 99 Escort Wagon I was passing 4x4 SUVs in ditches in a blizzard lol.
A collectors item for sure. No one would want to add any milage to it, that would drastically reduce it's value and appeal. Hope it does well for you Bill, i have looked here in the UK and there are no comparable ones available.

They are getting harder to find, that is for sure.
Are they? Cause I can't even remember the last time I saw a Ford Escort driving down the road.
@@Hillbillypunk This wasn't even on my radar. I just happen to stumble across it and the miles sold me instantly!
I am not a big fan of small cars, but I would prefer this to any Toyota or Nissan of the same period.
Nice!

@@glen7201 No, not in terms of reliability, but I just can't stand Japanese cars from that period, especially Toyota.
@@glen7201 Thanks for sharing that!
What a gem! Nice!
Thanks!

Oh nice!! lol
I had a copy of this exact car from 2002-2005. It was my first.
Nice!
Would look better with tinted windows? Love these time capsules you get; keep em coming.
Thanks and I sure will!

I agree, I have to believe this is a museum piece!
That car really ran strong, i was surprised. Stupid Ford Motor Company should just go back with that engine for there small vehicles.
Exactly!
Wow how much are you trying to get its been at least 20 years since i last seen one of these very nice and clean
Thanks! The current bid on BAT is $12,000 I think it should do more but I am going to sell it at this point!
