- The BEST DAY OF MY LIFE! I got the drive a Mercedes C63 DTM at Hockenheim for a few laps. For me the sound was the main highlight and the simplicity of the interior as well. Compared to a GT3 car the grip felt similar and the power was a bit less but overall the driving experience was more visceral. Will never forget this day as long as I am alive.

After playing plenty of Gran Turismo it's nice to watch the real thing.
This experience was so insane. I wish I could articulate the feelings of driving this car better. Unfortunately no game does it justice 🙁

I know I'm freaking late but can someone answer my question, in performance wise how similiar were those DTM cars between 2014-2017 compared to GT3? How faster? Also, did they increase power for the 2018 season making the DTM cars even faster? Then yeah I know in 2019 Class 1 cars came into the scene and those were freaking fast
I remember one time a "friend" of mine who claimed she raced said that A racing drivers don't have mirrors and B they don't use them. I found it utterly rediculous. Time trials racers and motorcycle racers are the only ones i can think of that legitimately wouldn't have a need for a mirror.
i get they want good weight distribution and same silhouette but could fit a hot tub in there!

I like the padding on the roll cage. Essentially overengineered pool noodles. Lol.
they normally just use pipe insulation that is normally used in warm water pipes in house construction. It is really cheap, available in all kinds of sizes and really effective as protection.
Not entirely correct, the padding is purpose built and molded to spec. Far from Pool Noodle material and actually very hard/stiff. You wouldn’t want to hit your head against it without a helmet on.
Great cars, great championship,one of the few championships where merit is rewarded over money.Sadly after Audi's departure this championship will be confined to history books once again.😭

@@DavidPerel Yes.High costs killed it.After all it was a championship where skills were rewarded rather than money.Every driver was paid.Big loss for motorsports in general but it could have saved but ITR acted too late.But on the other hand you have to admit that Formula E developed itself into a formidable series and now every manufacturer want to join FE.FE does a goodjob.

What sort of engine was it V8? A pity Benz isn't still there developing one under Class One rules, because the Audi is very good at the moment.
V8. They ran V8s until 2018 and this Merc had one.

David Perel Yeah i feel you, its quite hard to come and stay in DTM. The cars are nuts, the sound, the braking and the downforce is incredible. sadly only a dream because of the money
@@didntstickthe1v150 Even if you had the money you wouldn't be able to drive one. It's for professional drivers only, one of the few elite championships where every driver is paid.
