Works really, really hard. Projects an perfectly clean image. You don't see him getting drunk in nightclubs. He's a role model for any kid growing up. He's the epitome of an athlete. People should celebrate him, not hate him.

Let me re-word that. My two favourite Pens players are "hot" right now. I've liked Dupuis and Malkin since they joined the team. Duper is an awesome player who has been underrated in my opinion. He's a stupidly strong skater and from what I can gather, an all-round gent off the ice which makes him very likeable. Geno is just a magician on the ice. He's been the Pens go-to guy all season, yes, but he's been a key player in years gone by as well. He has a LOT of assists on #87 goals.
God, I love Sidney Crosby. For who he is, he has to be one of the most humble people ever. Please let this guy be healthy and let him do what he loves. He brings so much joy to so many people and is just a tremendous person. "Guess we're all a little crazy in our own way..." that is one heck of a mature outlook for a guy who had millions of dollars as a teenager. Most guys in his position probably think more along the lines of "Girls, girls, girls(not that that's bad)". He is a true professional

Just watch him for a few shifts and you can immediately tell how much faster and harder he is working than everyone else on the ice. Penguin fan or not I don't understand how people cannot at least respect that.
Yes. All of the players you mentioned were greats. And all played entire careers. Bobby Orr's career was cut shot due to injuries. And still achieved numerous records. Imagine what he would have done if he played an entire career.

I'm not a massive Sidney Crosby fan, but I am a massive Pens fan. My favourite Pens player at the moment is Malkin, closely followed by Duper. I'm not saying I don't like Sid - I know that he's one of the most talented players on the team and despite being a bit cheesy at times, I have a huge amount of respect for him. I just hate to see him being hated on so much. He's done incredibly well for himself and for his team. He deserves the respect that he gets from Pens fans :)

I don't like or dislike him, but I do have a tremendous amount of respect for how he plays and handles the game.
It's hard to hate him as a fan, I'll admit. I used to dislike him a lot but I always respected him for his skill and passion. But players just don't hate him for no reason. A lot of guys are different on the ice compared to off the ice and when the players and coaches think he cheapshots and and plays dirty then he probably does because they see things we don't. But he is a stand-up guy off the ice and I wish more people would see it.
Gino not only played pro for 3 years pro before Crosby...he was DAMN GOOD in that league...where young guys aren't usually given playing time. (not counting Nail Yakupov's recent stint in Neftekhimik)
You see vids and the dirty crosschecks and all that is ridiculous. Hes the best in the world, hands down. Cant argue with 35 points in 21 games coming back from not playing for a year. And 66 in 41 games last year and rode a 25 game points streak.

When someone disrespects your captain and your team you take action and that is what Draper did, if Crosby had any class or maturity at the time he would have shaken Nick's hand, or at least apologized after forgetting to.
