I was just saying, if u you watch McDavid highlights, its just him skating really fast and blowing by the defense, leading to a breakaway goal or pass. But McDavid really doesn't do much else. Crosby dominates the ice in many ways, other than just breakaway goals from being able to skate fast.

He's developed a lethal wrist shot, he has mastered the banks shot/goal line angle shots, has great timing picking up loose pucks around the net, and he even has started developing a down low/ behind the net game. You don't score 60g/150 points being a one dimensional player.
Sidney Crosby is an incredible player. Everyone of those moments ended with me laughing, thinking how did he do that. He's definitely a top 5 NHL player, maybe even better.
He really is. You can say what you want about what Gretzky or Lemieux would be like today with the same advantages but there's no denying that in actual overall hockey ability Crosby is hands down the best ever to this day. Maybe McDavid or MacKinnon surpass him but I won't count on it.

Mats Sundin and Paul Kariya are two guys that come to mind who I'd put up there with anybody outside of Crosby.

On #25, what makes it even better is that he pulled the same move against the same defender earlier in the game only to be stopped by Brodeur. He wasn't gonna be denied twice. Kinda wish that was included on that one.

No. Lemieux had 30 min per game back in hos best season. He would have closer to 20. Thats 1/3 of the points gone right away. Also much more goals scored in his best season than now a days. Lemieux would be a 130 points producer at best.
Everytime i watch McDavid highlights, it blows my mind, but then I watch Crosby after, and hes just 100x more exciting. Crosby has way more range of skills, McDavid can skate fast and look fancy, but Crosby has the highest hockey IQ in the game that can allow him to make unbelievable plays, the strongest legs to keep balance, eyes in the back of his head, and the best hand-eye coordination.

The most complete player of all time. I have been season ticket holder and seen every one of lemieux games. I think crosby is the best player of all time. If he played in the 80s he would score 250 points and hes not done yet.

@@earlviney5212 I watched every Lemieux's game as well and in my humble opinion its not close, Mario had cancer, he nearly died from a major back infection which kept him in bed for 3 months and for the first part of his career had almost no talent around him , the Pens missed the playoffs in 5 of Mario's first 6 seasons, his best year, 85 goals, 114 assists, his wingers were mainly Bob Errey, Rob Brown and Randy Cunneyworth, Crosby year in and year out has had much more talent around him, Sid is closer to 68 than to 66, just my 2 cents
Something to remember with Crosby is not only all the points he could have from the games he missed in his prime, but the fact that he's never played with a talented line mate like how McDavid has Draisaitl and Ovi has Backstrom or Kuznetsov. Not even for one season. Jake Guentzel is a very good player but he's no Draisaitl and Crosby didn't even start playing with Guentzel until his 12th season. Just think of all the points that could be.
#1 - favorite memory of this was the aftermath. The first game after the Olympics was Buffalo @ Pittsburgh. I was listening to the radio broadcast and the PA announcer said, “The Pittsburgh Penguins wish to honor all of the Olympians participating in tonight’s game.” Then they read off a list of players that competed in the 2010 Vancouver games. Ryan Miller was announced second-to-last and the Pittsburgh crowd went absolutely nuts for him. Before Sid was announced, they played the highlight of the golden goal, and I thought, “I wonder if they’re gonna boo this?” They did. The crowd BOOED Sidney Crosby in Pittsburgh! It was a truly hilarious though good-natured moment.

Crosby is the player you would build if someone asked you build the most elite/complete player with a variety of other players skills. Gretzky - IQ, Jagr's - Puck Protection, Lemieux - Ability to beat defenders, Datsyuk - Creativity, Bergerons - 200 Foot Game, Thornton - Passing, Pavelskis - Hand Eye Coordination, His own backhand. You put all those skills into one person and it's Crosby. Top three ever to play IMO.

You can't say he was passing the puck without looking between his legs and got lucky that many times to find an open teammate to create a scoring opportunity.
