- The best 100 plays from Sidney Crosby -- the best point producer of this generation -- up until the end of the 2019-2020 season. No copyright purposes intended. I do not own any of the video clips or the audio. #sidneycrosby #nhl #pittsburghpenguins
Find me a more diverse highlight reel than this. Dancing through entire teams, scoring while falling, the best backhand in hockey history, his edgework, pure power protecting the puck, use of his skates, his hand eye batting pucks in and consistently incredible redirects, the no look passes, his hockey iq, undressing players and goalies, stealing pucks, using the boards and the back of the net, the michigan goal, i can go on forever. Penguins and Crosby fans are so spoiled to have been able to watch him for his career. we are so fucking lucky. 🐐
I was just saying, if u you watch McDavid highlights, its just him skating really fast and blowing by the defense, leading to a breakaway goal or pass. But McDavid really doesn't do much else. Crosby dominates the ice in many ways, other than just breakaway goals from being able to skate fast.
@@alphamale3643That might have been the case earlier in his career, but it's not true anymore. McDavid has diversified his game much the same way Crosby did. He's developed a lethal wrist shot, he has mastered the banks shot/goal line angle shots, has great timing picking up loose pucks around the net, and he even has started developing a down low/ behind the net game. You don't score 60g/150 points being a one dimensional player.
Datsyuk
@@tylerlacroix3876Datsyuk isn't on the same level as sid. He just isnt.
@@jimbosmith6327 Never said he was. I’m saying he has the nastiest highlights out of any hockey player I’ve ever seen lol
This is the greatest video I’ve ever seen
I don't wanna like this comment although i like this comment
This convinces me that he is the greatest player all time
He really is. You can say what you want about what Gretzky or Lemieux would be like today with the same advantages but there's no denying that in actual overall hockey ability Crosby is hands down the best ever to this day. Maybe McDavid or MacKinnon surpass him but I won't count on it.
he is tbh
@@funtimes8296 Gretzky is definelty the best to ever do it. But right behind him is Crosby.
@@JordanABL880 How could Crosby be right behind if Lemieux was as good if not better than Gretzky at his best? Crosby would be better than Gretzky in todays NHL anyway.
@@funtimes8296 probably the most skilled player of all time.l
Sidney Crosby is an incredible player. Everyone of those moments ended with me laughing, thinking how did he do that. He's definitely a top 5 NHL player, maybe even better.
I love how I am audibly reacting to almost every goal with “are you kidding me!?” I’m only on #70.
Crosby has the best backhand I've ever seen. Gordie Howe, second. The guy is incredible! No one sees the ice like Sid.
Kane has a sick backhand too
Yeah kanes gotta be second right behind crosby
@@dominickveenstra9470 Forgetting Datsyuk. 2nd best after Sid
@@jensclarberg93 yes, Crosby#1 Datsyuk#2 Kane#3
Lol. Crosby has a strong argument for number 1 but to say the top 3 backhanders of all time are from the past 10-15 years just screams recency bias. There was hockey played before the year 2000. Mats Sundin and Paul Kariya are two guys that come to mind who I'd put up there with anybody outside of Crosby.
This mans entire career is a highlight video.
WHO else in the history of Hockey suffered not 1 not 2 not 3 but FOUR CONCUSSIONS ...missed 101 games in 15 months and STILL came back like a LION to reach 500 goals and still go on ?? NOBODY. Had this man not been put thru this much suffering and setbacks....he would now be on equal footing with Wayne. ...and Wayne never got the abominable treatment Sidney got. Nobody dared touch 99. But by the time 87 came along, the Game had changed and gotten real rough. Much more Violent and much Faster. But Sidney is no Loser. He's a Genius on skates. And the BEST team player EVER. So he thrived no matter what. Unbelievable. All things considered ...HE IS THE BEST PLAYER EVER !
I agree. And just think of the points he would have if he had someone like Draisaitl or Backstrom on his line. Lol.
I said something similar on a Facebook post hating on this guy. Thinking of all the playoff games let alone regular season he missed. Then the broken jaw, and the recent strike. Imagine what his points would look like. Just wish they'd give us more playoff games the last few seasons. Losing a spark lately. Still a fan and always will be. Win or lose
Stats aside - he is the Goat. What a magician
Greatest player to watch for me! 🔥🤯
That backcheck, individual effort and finish of 18. May be one of Sids best "that's why" plays of his career.
In the last 35 yrs to have had Lemuiex, Jagr and now Crosby what an amazing stretch.
Don't forget Malkin. What a lucky franchise.
@@funtimes8296 yeah definitely he's amazing too
I'd say fleury was an amazing goalie aswell
he may not be a generational player like those mentioned above but to have third rounders end up being players like Letang and Guentzel they do their homework
Nobody, I mean nobody thinks the game like Crosby hes always thinking and planning ahead he turns nothing into something better than anyone, PERIOD
We are blessed to have content creators like this guy and UA-cam so we never have to miss moments in time that are special. Crosby has lived up to and past the hype. He's a top 10 greatest overall player ever imo.
Thank you so much for the kind words! I agree, Crosby is easily a top 10 player all-time and could arguably even be top 5 already. I'd say he's in the conversation for being on NHL's Mount Rushmore.
@@PuckinAround Of all time I think he is more of a top 20-25 but he is definitely a top 5 of 2000-2010s era.
Top 25?? Name me 25 players better than Sidney Crosby. Please.
Top 3 overall ever lol
@@chrisg7731 Ah Ah aha ah Ah ...EXACTLY. Well said. Only Wayne ever did better. And Wayne DID NOT suffer 4 concussions and miss 101 games in 15 months of suffering.
Everyone: how do you score all these insane goals?
Sid: yes
Everybody talking McDavid today. Short term memories they all have.
It’s crazy that as of this writing you need to add THREE more years of highlights. And The Kid is still just as electric.
I think Crosby is the greatest of all time. He makes guys around him better. He seems to always make the right play.
Living in Pittsburgh I have been blessed to experience 2 of the best hockey players in the world!
I’ve waiting for this video my whole life!!
🐐 legend, I’ll never not cherish watching Sid play
amazing editing, short but sweet for each play! must have taken hours
Most players would dream to have 1 of these clips, he has hundreds, is nuts how he tore up the leauge and honestly he still does even with age
I know im a couple years late, but amazing video. Sid is def top 3 players of all time, could you imagine if he didnt miss 14 months of his prime due to injuries. He'd be in the convo for goat even more than he is now.
And there are so many amazing plays not here... Crosby the GOAT
#1 - favorite memory of this was the aftermath. The first game after the Olympics was Buffalo @ Pittsburgh. I was listening to the radio broadcast and the PA announcer said, “The Pittsburgh Penguins wish to honor all of the Olympians participating in tonight’s game.” Then they read off a list of players that competed in the 2010 Vancouver games. Ryan Miller was announced second-to-last and the Pittsburgh crowd went absolutely nuts for him.
Before Sid was announced, they played the highlight of the golden goal, and I thought, “I wonder if they’re gonna boo this?” They did. The crowd BOOED Sidney Crosby in Pittsburgh! It was a truly hilarious though good-natured moment.
He truly is the complete package great leader amazing passer and can score
On #25, what makes it even better is that he pulled the same move against the same defender earlier in the game only to be stopped by Brodeur. He wasn't gonna be denied twice. Kinda wish that was included on that one.
No one see the ice like Sid. It is like he sees 5 seconds into the future. What a pleasure to watch.
My favorite player of all time
Everytime i watch McDavid highlights, it blows my mind, but then I watch Crosby after, and hes just 100x more exciting. Crosby has way more range of skills, McDavid can skate fast and look fancy, but Crosby has the highest hockey IQ in the game that can allow him to make unbelievable plays, the strongest legs to keep balance, eyes in the back of his head, and the best hand-eye coordination.
Agree, and I bleed Oil. We are talking top 5 all.time with our Canadian boys though. We can all be proud. Sid is the whole package, such a humble guy true to the sport and his hometown roots. I will forever remember him Yell IGGY!❤
the greatest of all time simple
I'm starting to agree with you .if he played during Gretzky s era he would have scored 250 points.
@@earlviney5212 More like 500+ if we're playing that game, but if he was born back then he would be a totally different and worse player
@@earlviney5212 If Mario Lemieux had graphite sticks, 2 line passes, 3 on 3 ot, no clutching and grabbing, Mario would have 660 points a year in the modern era
No. Lemieux had 30 min per game back in hos best season. He would have closer to 20. Thats 1/3 of the points gone right away. Also much more goals scored in his best season than now a days. Lemieux would be a 130 points producer at best.
Sid is great, and he made everyone around him better.
This video always makes me so happy ! Sid is the goat 🐐
Pretty hard to find better highlights than that for a single player ! So many times he's schooled 3 or 4 players to get the goal !
Watched this to get pumped up for the game tonight. Need a win to tie the series!
How would anyone think mcdavids better
Notice how every single goal on here was different compared to mcdavid always doing the same thing
i mean a goal is a goal
@@thompalele yeah but it's not amazing if you do then same thing
@@brentod1679 a goal is still a goal and that is all that counts at the end of the day
@@thompalele ik but it's not highlight worthy when it's stupid
@@brentod1679 yeah but you said crosby was better than mcdavid because of his different looking goals
Something to remember with Crosby is not only all the points he could have from the games he missed in his prime, but the fact that he's never played with a talented line mate like how McDavid has Draisaitl and Ovi has Backstrom or Kuznetsov. Not even for one season. Jake Guentzel is a very good player but he's no Draisaitl and Crosby didn't even start playing with Guentzel until his 12th season. Just think of all the points that could be.
I wish more people understood this
@@matthewlax8612you and I both.
That overtime golden goal vs us. I can never forget.
#10 never gets old. I could watch that all day
He’s not only too one hundred he’s clearly top three no doubt and in my mind number one the goat Sid
He’s the Messi of Hockey
Imagine having 100 highlight worthy plays
His backhand shot is like no other.
The fact it’s a top 100 for a single player speaks VOLUMES!
#9 - the crowd pop on this goal is like the glass shattering and Stone Cold coming out to stunner 6 guys and clear the ring. When Sid breaks through the defense, you can see everyone start to lose it. They’re anticipating the goal before he even finishes.
I'm a big pens fan. I have been watching sid his whole career in the NHL. I never realized just how amazing his awareness is and was. You can't say he was passing the puck without looking between his legs and got lucky that many times to find an open teammate to create a scoring opportunity. The hate for this guy was serious and I get it. Shit, imagine him playing for Washington with ovi. Or the red wings? I would hate him too. I am sad he seems to have lost a little over the last few years. But he also doesn't have the same people he had back then as fellow pens.
Best video I’ve seen in idk how long
The first 3rd of the video were good goals for sure. But the rest were just insane!
He’s the spider-man of hockey
Crosby is the player you would build if someone asked you build the most elite/complete player with a variety of other players skills.
Gretzky - IQ, Jagr's - Puck Protection, Lemieux - Ability to beat defenders, Datsyuk - Creativity, Bergerons - 200 Foot Game, Thornton - Passing, Pavelskis - Hand Eye Coordination, His own backhand.
You put all those skills into one person and it's Crosby. Top three ever to play IMO.
You know whenever Crosby get the puck you know it’s going to be a highlight play
One of the best highlight video I have seen. Well done!
7:56, watching this in real time was so impressive
Crosby out there just doing everything I wish that I could do, but he made it look prettier.
4:41, the only good play for us in a game we simply looked terrible. The greatest all round player and it’s not even close, THE complete player
he is amazing
Highlight #84 is completely nuts. He deliberately tried to bank it in off Lundqvist’s back… and it worked!
I was there for #85... I remember seeing him pivot like that and my mouth just dropping wide open. I couldn't believe it and then of course I went nuts when Sheary buried it lol
The most complete player of all time. Not the best scorer (ovi) , not the best skater (mcdavid), not the best stickhandler (kane), not the best defensive forward (bergeron) and the list goes on for many categories. He is second best in all of the above. However, being the complete package of scorer, playmaker, defensive and offensive awareness, skater, speed and strength, being able to turn up a game... He is the absolute best in being a complete package, with nobody even close. Second best in this category has to be Forsberg. And yes, i am even considering gretsky and lemieux in this.
Best hockey IQ tho
@@ianplourde3008 true
I have been season ticket holder and seen every one of lemieux games. I think crosby is the best player of all time. If he played in the 80s he would score 250 points and hes not done yet.
@@earlviney5212 i know. But its different eras and cant be compared in that sense.. However i do agree. He is something the world will have to wait a long time to see again
@@earlviney5212 I watched every Lemieux's game as well and in my humble opinion its not close, Mario had cancer, he nearly died from a major back infection which kept him in bed for 3 months and for the first part of his career had almost no talent around him , the Pens missed the playoffs in 5 of Mario's first 6 seasons, his best year, 85 goals, 114 assists, his wingers were mainly Bob Errey, Rob Brown and Randy Cunneyworth, Crosby year in and year out has had much more talent around him, Sid is closer to 68 than to 66, just my 2 cents
56 was my personal favorite, remember chillin with my grandpa
One of the GOATs
He’s the most complete hockey player of all time in my opinion he won’t have the most points but he definitely is the most complete
You'll NEVER see an Ovechkin top 100 plays video with just as many sick passes as there are goals that make up the 100 plays! Ovi is good...But Crosby is the best all around 200 foot player in the league.
Yeah, sure. Wonder why Ovechkin are in 3rd place while Crosby are in 39th place. Only ones that still leads are Wayne Gretzky and then comes Gordie Howe when it comes to NHL records. I am still a Penguin-fan, but there are players that are better then Crosby. Sorry to say.
Remember him time will show Crosby is the best player of all time. Numbers dont mean shit his talent is unbelievable.
He's top 10, maybe top 5, but not in Gretzky or Lemieux's league
Disagree if crosby played in that era he would have scored just as much as gretzky and lemieux. Faster game today and the goaltending back then cant compare to today.
@@earlviney5212 You mean guys like Patrick Roy, Dominik Hasek, Ron Hextall, Bobby Smith, Grant Fuhr? You're also forgetting how physical hockey was back then, Lemieux had no help on that end either and look at the toll it took on him, the game may have more balance today, but it was UFC/MMA compared to today
problem is it's been 4 years since this 100 was compiled. he's just been upping some of these since lol
GOAT
Since this video was posted, you could probably edit together another 100 insane plays lol. Sid hasn't slowed down 19 seasons in.
Looks like Mcdavid bought a ticket on 10.
Thats my point! Mcdavid has 37 points as im typing. He is only +6. Thats TERRIBLE
He doesn't play defense
Crosby is talented on offense and defense
Mcdavid is only offense
@@brentod1679 now he has 100 points
@@riceroket and is only plus 26
Wow is he amazing at defense or what....
I liked this video till the end 😂
62 was wild...it wasn’t the most difficult or even the most attractive of the goals but it was crazy still
Sid got all the skills
Fantastic video. I think there's a case to be made for his 3rd goal against the Atlanta Thrashers on 12/2/10 to be in this video. One of the most insane re-directs I've ever seen. Must have been hard to "Rank" these goals, all of them are incredible haha
11:11 ;)
@@PuckinAround I'm so sorry hahaha multi-tasking 😂
From what I seen the best player in the world, better then mcdavid
Pure magic.
#8 name anybody in the entire world who could do that or even come close to scoring that
The best to ever do it
MY IDOL
66k views, nice
There hasnt been a big game in his career where Crosby didnt show up & make something happen to try & win, easily top 3 player & captain of all time
🐐🐐🐐🐐
Sid is so versatile. Such a pleasure to watch. He’s the greatest hockey player!
Great stuff
Sid the Kid!
The best
Modern Gretzky. He wont have the point totals because players are just flat out better but he is just as good as Gretzky
Off topic but rip 3:32 ray emery
At around 7:50 that backhand on smith was insane
How many times needs to be rangers defence schooled like that, first Sid, after him Ovie and last year McDavid.. 😂
People that say he is the best must mean of this generation because he’s top 10 maybe top 5. However his work ethic can’t be beat. I’d take Mario #1 no doubt.
This guy might be a pro
Dedication.
You could’ve gave us a heads up for that #1 play
Who is this? Kid could make the nhl one day...
I think you mean could break the NHL one day.
thank you :)
Wow.. 100.. 😂
Is that fair? Lol. Bob erreey. Side note, the shootout goal on Theodore was wet.
How do you even make a video like this
Can someone give me a timestamp to Crosby's lacrosse goal with the Oceanic of Rimouski in the QMJHL? Or is this an NHL only compilation?
12:33 :) This list is all-inclusive, includes NHL, Junior and International.
IMAGINE if he hadn't lost so much time/games being concussed !! Sorta same sit as his mentor Super Mario & cancer.
