Wow, sometimes I forget he's rich and famous, or even a household name, he seems like he'll give you his shirt off his back. He remembered all the kids names, what a role model!
Definitely. I'm not a "celebrity" kind of person, but I'd like to meet the guy one day. He seem chill. Maybe when I visit my friend in Cole Harbor hopefully I'll bump into the guy. lol Our animal sanctuary could use a signed jersey for an auction.
Alex P. Keaton I'd say he'd be very easy to get along with. Seems proper down to Earth which is astonishing considering he is one of the most gifted hockey players to play in the NHL.
I got goosebumps seeing him interacting with the kids. Great young man. Great role model. He could easily be full of himself, but this is a young man who left home at 15? to pursure his dream and still appears to have both feet on the ground. A credit to his family and community. A quick glimpse of his sister seems to show that it runs in the family.
InMotionForAMillion yeah but off ice for autographs. "Hey nick what's up .. Olivia you're a Price fan aren't you.. oh right you were telling me you'd be at the home opener" .. he's genuine
Trixon dixon he's talking about the autograph session... Sidney knew all the kids names. Most "hockey clinics/schools" are just money grabs by whoever is hosting it. I am a Crosby hater, I hate the guy, but to see how involved he was with the kids, how when asked if he would be there tomorrow he enthusiasticly said "you bet". He was deeply involved with each player, and seemed like he took the time to get to know each kid, which in my experience growing up in hockey camps and teams, etc, is super rare. I'm 32 so I grew up attending hockey camps and clinics in the 90's and unless you were the top 3-5 players there, none of the adults would even ask your name, or talk to you. They would go out of their way to avoid you. Crosby seemed like he didn't alienate kids based on skill level and to be completely honest, I hate Crosby as a player, but as a person he seems like a really good human with good morals and he seems like he treats everyone with respect, regardless of their job, skill level, etc. And that is a SUPER rare quality in today's times where almost every single person in this world judges people based on their job, skill, gender, looks, etc. He even asked his sister what was the proper term for addressing the female hockey players. That shows a high level of respect for young kids, which not many people have today. I hate to say it, but Crosby seems like a really nice person, even though I hate him on the ice.
I had an opportunity to go to Halifax for my work a few years ago and when I saw the Cole Harbour sign on the highway , I knew I had to turn off. I will never forget seeing the Cole Harbour sign “ Home of Sidney Crosby “ and inside Cole Harbour Place ! I felt like a kid again ! Great experience !!
I met him in Germany in the summer, when I saw him I couldn’t believe my own eyes. He is a great guy. So polite, so friendly. Probably the nicest person I ever met in Germany 😂
marcus mccluskey take a look at his slash on Marc Methot and O'Reilly on the sabres. i do agree with him being a nice guy off ice, but on nice he isn't such a great guy.
makes no sense how people can hate him... one of the greatest players to ever lace up a skate and the nicest person. class act canadian and makes me proud to be from canada .
He could be the most cocky and arrogant person , but he chooses to be grounded and very respectful. He puts his time into that kids hockey camp . Straight up good guy ! Props to one of the very best to ever play the game 👍
My buddie and I had our kids at the essential in Cornwall pei met Sidney there getting gas. The boys went and talked to him for 5 minutes and made the day. Before he left he gave me a wave and high fives for the boys. Pei loves Crosby
Love how he new all the kids names. He appears to be very well grounded, humble, and much respect to his parents. Great job raising a good Canadian boy. I love my country.
thank u Canada for giving my city Sydney Crosby. he saved hockey in the burgh. thank u Toronto for kessel. thank u Russia for Malkin. the list is long.
Silent Ace He came from a deal with the maple leafs though, I think that's what he meant. It makes more sense saying that because he's American and it'd be weird thanking America for kessel.
This shows genuine Crosby. it's important to not attach an opinion to someone from something you don't like about someone (actions on the ice). He honestly is very humble
What I LOVE about hockey players is their grounded nature - their willingness to give back - and their gratitude for the opportunity they've been given to play a game and make an amazing living doing it. Other sports celebrities could learn a lot from watching how hockey players carry and conduct themselves.
As a huge Pittsburgh sports fan, I am very happy to see what kind of guy he is (being the best in the world). He has his head on straight, is very humble, and takes time to spend it with his home town and his fans. Great leader, great player, great human being. Reminds me of Troy Polamalu in how humble and REAL he is.
Living in western PA, 90 minutes north of Pittsburgh, you can't help but root for The Pirates, The Steelers, & THE PENS!!! That also means rooting for Sid. Never met him but have seen him on the ice at a couple of games. I'd love to visit Cole Harbour, but I would imagine it can be a bit of a nuisance as other fans travel there to be able to see Sid & get an autograph. I don't think I could take the rejection, so if there's a day or a moment just to say "Hey", in the 'burgh or in Nova Scotia, it'll happen. You're amazing, Sidney Crosby, & will always be "Sid the Kid"!!! Don't ever change & God bless!!!
He use to be the biggest diver in his first five years! That’s not classy or playing with sportsmanship. Ya his parents sure taught him how to play with honour. Well maybe at first but living with Mario Lemieux during his first five years, Mario taught him how to be a good diver.
I beleieve he is abit top notch higher than the great one because he is stilCanadian soul. TY Sid we Love you man.Roger Crozier was mine and he lived up our road and taught me how to be the best goaltender in my league.Junior C was when I stopped because I didnt have the money and support to go on and that is the key-we were poor.
Gord Miller seems like a REALLY cool guy and kind person. You can always tell the character of a man by the way he interacts with children. Sid the Kid is all CLASS too!!
This is a great video! His home town is BEAUTIFUL and he's great with the kids! Sid has been living here in my home town of course first with Mario and his family and now at his own place up in the Heights! I remember after their last Stanley Cup win when Sid came home here , he went to the local grocery store in town , just around the corner from where the banner congratulating the win was hanging and he had his picture taken with some local shoppers and some of the photos were shared in our published - once- a week -little newspaper. Always a class act! We're used to a lot of Steelers that have lived here , going back to the Super Bowl winners of the 70's and one night at my work(this was back in the 80''s) I asked(begged) one of the guys that was there if I could try on his ring and he let me! Most special 2 minutes of my life!
Mad respect to Sid. As a Caps fan I love to hate him during their rivalry but it's all in good fun. Love this guy and what's hes done for hockey. One of my favorites for sure...shh
It's crazy with all the pressure and expectations that he's lived up to it all! 99/100 people would let it go to their head or crack under it all, he's just stayed the course. Incredible. Also, was lucky enough to spend my honeymoon in 2012 in the Maritimes. What a beautiful part of the world! Crazy that MacKinnon loved Crosby as a kid...and grew into a world-class player himself. He did a pretty good job in Trailer Park Boys too!
even th0 i am a long suffering Sabre fan i enjoyed this great documentary on Sidney..what a great young man..who hasn't forget his family..friends and his home town..and his Country...great video...
Hard not to shed tears watching this. The impact on the game and little ones wanting to play the game is immense. As far as Coal Harbour, what a beautiful place.
Those kids faces. Priceless, man when athletes give back and are just humble as him. Fantastic, this man is 100 % class. Please, don’t ever ever change.
Mr. Sid, like many other fans, I am in awe of your talent, particularly in the face of what you have endured with injuries. That aside, I can only hope that you choose your final year in the NHL carefully and with mindful precision. The icing on the cake for me, would be to see you capture your final playoff battle with an ending that is second to none. I don't care if it's next year or in five years from now, but I wish and hope that it is spectacular. Why? Because you earned it. In my mind, it doesn't matter if your final run at the Stanley Cup ends in a success. What matters to me, is that you leave this NHL war as the greatest hockey warrior of your time. I don't care if the team is defeated in the second round, as long as I can take in your unwavering passion to defeat the opponent. Of course, I imagine that your team will win the final round,, so give it your all A team with a common vision and unbreakable veteran leadership will be the key. Thank you so much for all you have done for this sport, and I look forward to watching you and Malkin do your magic in unity in the final chapter. Get it done, and Cheers to all, Alan
Sid Crosby is the player with the most class of any player in professional sports. He is so humble given his great achievements. He is a model to the players, fans, and kids. TERRY OLBRYSH
NBA players could really look up to these guys. Real professionals. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge NBA fan and guys like Lowry do go the extra distance for their communities, but guys like Sid, Nat, Gretzky, and many, MANY more hockey players are true role models.
Imagine Sid and Nate coming back to their hometown every summer and giving drills, tips and continue that school for decades. There will be so many more future stars coming out of that city!

Way off. His favorite player is the same guy Crosby said, not Crosby.

I couldn't be prouder of Sidney Crosby. What a great human! Love you, Sid!
Why do so many people hate on Sid he's a good guy
He seems like an awesome person in this video. However, on ice people don't like that he complains a lot, fakes injuries and acts immature etc.
Chevyhighrider all those are myths, he has never faked an injury and is arguable the most mature player in the NHL.
marcus mccluskey take a look at his slash on Marc Methot and O'Reilly on the sabres. i do agree with him being a nice guy off ice, but on nice he isn't such a great guy.
Because they are jealous
