Once the back is attached to the front with the metal back tack strips, the front is screwed back in place, through the holes on the back of the metal frame, using the original screw holes in the wood. This is why it's important to cut fabric around them and put holes through the fabric with a regulator, if you have one, whilst constructing the front of the chair. The 4 screws are visible on the back of the frame. Hope this makes sense.
