this is JUST what I needed to see! thanx for a decent, no frills video. i have NEVER done any upholstery stuff in my life, but Im always up to learn new things! thanx!
I was on the fence on throwing away my dining chairs & buy new ones or sending them to a repairment shop. Now I know how to do it myself from your video. Thank you very much!
Awesome tutorial, awesome results 👏 Family that reupholster together, stays together 😂, I just helped my husband to redo 4 dining chairs, they may not be perfect but oh so much more clean and comfortable - I kept them for the vintage woodwork ❤
Thank you, friend, for this comprehensive and detailed video. I hadn't reupholstered in a very long time. This was just what I needed to refresh my memory and get the job done right.
You made those corners look easy. I thought I was smart getting better quality marine grade vinyl but doing the corners is a challenge. Yours almost stretched even like rubber. Well done!
Excellent video. Straight to the point. I Need to recover 4 dining room chairs and did not know where to go get the foam or then how to cut it……Just need to go down to my local Hobby Lobby 🙄. Lol. Thank you. Good to know I need at least 3”s extra for the fabric too. Good instructions, thanks!!
Great video. Found this because I'm working on a similar project and wasn't getting the results I wanted in the corners. I like the rounded corner vs. the fabric folds in the corner. Great tips. Thanks
Good video. I have the same chairs. I just got some high density foam and need to get the fabric. Took one chair apart and after looking at wood seat, I might cut all new seats out of plywood for all eight chairs.
The corners came out beautiful though. I have to try that. But thats because we don't get 3 inches of fab to pull. In reality you do not need so much staples like herringbone style i have seen. Nice final product
Am I the ONLY one here frustrated that when I pull the corners, the wrinkles simply move to the center of the sides?! I’m doing everything like he says and my corners are not working. What am I doing wrong!
@@D.I.Y._All-in-One thanks. But I found another video where he didn’t waste so much material, used a heat gun and made simple cuts at the corners. Had each chair finished in 5 minutes each and used far less vinyl than you do, and a lot less work!! My chairs look fabulous thanks to his video.
@@ianhynes8439 maybe. But a heat gun (or even hair dryer) and making cuts in the corners makes the most sense and uses a lot less vinyl. And is a faster method.
I've had my dining table for 14yrs and I'm going to be reupholstering my dining chair soon. I'm wondering, how many times can this be done, throughout the life of the chair?
Thanks for sharing your video! I had watched your video and discovered that when I turned the chair upside down I got intimidated with all the screws. Then I watched your video again and noticed that you only unscrewed four screws to get the seat off. Then I went at it again yeah! Thanks for the video!!!!

Thanks for teaching me how to fix my dining room chairs!

Thanks, glad the video helped.
Thanks for the detailed instruction. It inspires me to reupholster my dining table chairs.
This will be a great help when I help my daughter recover her dining table chairs with vinyl! Thank you for the clear instructions!
Thank you for sharing and for the detailed instruction. Mine project is with fabric . I hope it will work well at the corner
I have a "staple lifter" tool for prying off those staples. No sharp blades dulled.
Thanks for the step-by-step instructions, it really helped me in reupholstering our eight dining chairs.
Thanks, glad the video could help.
OK, the screws are all stripped out on my chairs so will try the wider screws. Thanks for the tip.
I just subscribed. Excellent video. I wanted to add that the reason the wood seat has two holes is for the air to release each time you sit.
Brilliant thank you so much for sharing this as I’m going to reupholster my dining room chairs 🪑
Thank you 🙏🏾🙏my husband and I are doing ours right now 😄😁
Thank you. I am replacing the vinyl on chairs that are exactly the same as these.
Super helpful. I needed to see how to do new foam! Thanks
Concise and to the point. Thank you for this video it will help me to do my DIY on my chairs.
Thank you!!!! We need to fix our chairs at the American Legion Post!
Thank you so much! This was the video I was looking for! My chairs looks like new again!!

Sounds like you have a great plan, your chairs will turn out great!
Great illustration. Beautiful work too. Thanks for sharing these tips with us.
Thank you
Thanks for the step by step tutorials

This is perfect thank you! Can I ask what kind of staple gun you suggest? Thank you!
I would love to see how you touched up the stain!
What did you use to touch up the wood? I appreciate your video because I am about to cover 3 very similar chairs. Thanks
Exactly the information I needed. Thanks for the great video.
You made it Look Easy.
Great video very informative!! thank you for sharing
You should invest into a dedicated staple puller. It's $15 well spent if you use it every day.
Great lesson! Thanks!
Darn! I already cut my vinyl too close.... Great job removing folds at the corners.
Am I the ONLY one here frustrated that when I pull the corners, the wrinkles simply move to the center of the sides?! I’m doing everything like he says and my corners are not working. What am I doing wrong!
Just keep pulling as hard as you can and eventually it should stretch the wrinkles out.

He may be using a more moldable vinyl meaning more stretchy then some other brands..

Do you have a link to recommend for the leather chair cover?
Very nice. Thank you for this.

As long as the frame remains in good shape, you can reupholster as many times as you want.
Very well done ! Thnx !
Very informative, thank you!
I have two Queen Ann chairs to reupolster
hopefully this video helps you out then
Thanks!
Thankyou.
Great job
Cool video ... how many yards of material did you get for the 2 chairs?
Thanks. It really depends on the size of the chairs but I think I got 1 yd, for 2 chairs.
Most helpful. TYVM.
Your welcome
If the padding is in good shape and the chair has minimal flaking, can I just pull it over the original vinyl?
You can but you see the existing damage on cushion show through to the new vinyl, may look bumpy or not smooth.
I had cloth chairs that I bought used and I didn't remove the old..just cleaned them up then covered them.

Where can I purchase dust covers from?
You should be able to find the material at a local Hobby Lobby if you have one, if not you can find it on Amazon.
@@D.I.Y._All-in-One yes, I live 20 mins away from Hobby Lobby. Thanks
thanks
Wow
Ok
Great job! This video is very helpful.
