I’ve never welded in my life or worked on engines. But I’m 17 and am hoping to do this in the next few years, make it street legal, and will make for an awesome summer vehicle. Thanks for the inspiration and dedication to the community!
I don’t record a lot of projects because I’m usually coming up with my plan as I go. But I love how you include it all. I appreciate seeing the mistakes and fixes. Thanks for another great video.👍🏾
Great info for a simple and effective designed chassis. After watching many of your video's it always throws me off watching the notcher flex. I know it's the table but it always make me think the other is flexing.
Thank you so much! This was a fun one. The vice and table both move when I’m notching, sorry to upset your OCD 🙃, I don’t even notice it until I see it in the editing room. Thanks for the comment 🦾
As with anything…. MONEY 😁. You can get a reverse gearbox for around 3k. Or you can drive smartly like you don’t have reverse. If you absolutely need reverse and don’t have the extra cheddar, look at atv powerplants 👍
There is a cheaper way, if you look at Roadsmith Trikes reverse kit it uses an electric motor that you leverage the motors gear into the belt driven sprocket. It's for a Harley tri glide but I see no reason you can't do the same on a chain sprocket with the correct motor gear. Some people I've seen use a starter motor on a separate gear. Another used a wiper motor, if you think a wiper motor doesn't have the power (like I did) a guy lifted over 400lbs with one that looked to be about a 3 or 4:1 gear ratio.
For your exhaust, it might be easier for you to look into a header from INEX. This looks to be a 1200 or 1250cc out of the INEX legend cars. I currently run the 1250 in mine and the header would come out the left side in front of the tire.
This is looking great. Maybe someday you can build one of these around a Honda K series engine and trans. Would be an easy 300hp NA or 1000hp turbo. Either way, insanely strong for the platform.
Nice work!! One thing that might bear come consideration is this: In the event of a crash…is there any way that big lump of an engine can break loose and squash you like a bug? Or more to the point…is there any way to make sure that doesn’t happen?
Thank you, sir 👍 Spoiler alert! I’m going to put diagonal bars from C-41 going forward when I “revisit” and finalize the motor mount. It’s just the way I do things, always turns out better when you take a little time to evaluate and refine. I haven’t had an engine break loose yet!
Not only is that engine hoist and load leveler good for engines,it will pick up the whole cart to put it say ,oh I don't know, anywhere.you can even get under it.handy to put on Jack stands.
Oh man I never thought of that! Soooo many uses, I can’t believe I didn’t already have one! And I can’t believe I bought one that’s not rated for my 2JZ 😡😡😡
How did this preform? I bought the plans and i know a guy selling this bike with the motor running. Im tossed between getting this and a concourse 14..
I personally use shocks that have a ton of adjustability. The rest is research, math and best guess testing. There is a video on my channel about suspension math if you want to dive in. It’s crosskart build #6.
No worries if they're private. I'm actually hoping you do. I've joined a few private communities for DIY projects, including a CNC build and PE test. I've also joined a few that are lame and don't have very good interaction once I joined. Hoping for the former with this potential project.
Kyle I don't want to be impatient but do you have a projection as to when you feel you will have enough data on the performance of the rear end to make them available ? Thanks William
The budget build rear ends should be available very soon. I still need to test the high horsepower setup before I let you guys get your hands on them. It will be worth the wait, I promise.
Well not yet. I do pretty low budget builds. If you have a fat wallet it’s pretty easy to add reverse to a homebuilt. I enjoy the challenge of figuring out inexpensive solutions. And I don’t spend a whole lot of time racing in reverse…
Sorry I don’t do customer builds, I have a full time job as a military aviator so the best I can do is give you the plans and show you exactly how to build one. I wish you the best!
4-1 is kinda overrated for bike engine sounds. Especially equal length. One of the best things I heard with a crotch rocket engine swap was "James Carroll buggys 2 drift special" and it had an equal length 4-2 (left 2 vs right 2 paired) with no center crossover (H or X) and it almost kinda sounded like a cross-plane R1. I think it had a pair of 2bros or similar mufflers, one on each final pipe. I know that's not exactly the scope of this video, but yeah. You can look up my reference and hear for yourself, that thing is sick. The next best one was a UEL GSXR1000, which was made by Official_KingJamesKong but just looking up the video title is enough to find it as it's the only one on UA-cam. He made it "subie style" so the right two cylinder's header pipes are about 2x as long as the left two, before THEN joining into a 4-1.
Check the description 👍. So many people building these in their garage from a set of plans and my youtube build series. The hardest part is to start! I wish you the best, man!
@@KJRaycing Yeah.. But expensive.. I'm enlisted personel in phil army and many priorities in term of financial.. That's why i'm enjoying only your videos in idolise😁😁😁
"You guys can build this" is an awesome comment at the end of the vid. Definitely spawning a community of builders around the VF carts.
Thank you. It really felt good to say confidently after seeing all of the awesome builds going on! We’ll be racing together sooner than later!

Great video, eagerly awaiting that rear end, as I'm sure many are. 😀 keep up the good work
Oh me too! I definitely want to do it right and not rush anything. VF-1’s and 2’s paired with an easy rear end is going to be a game changer!
@@KJRaycing your doing great, the rear end work is stellar

What’s the best way to have reverse with a motorcycle engine? Great video!

Your karts are freaking awesome. I see you make a 2 seat cart. Have you thought about a 4 seat?
Just recently found a 750 Katana , this will help a little to visualize beforehand...
I was looking at Katana 750’s when I came across the FJ; I kind of wish I’d went with the 750, this engine is huuuuge!

Also much heavier than a motorcycle or ATV engine; the kart is light enough that you don't need 300+hp

When mounting a motor into a kart do you use the oil level in the sight glass to keep the motor flat?
Is it needed?

Yup. Sierra Cars make them. Bring your wallet and a kidney though, they’re $70k.
What notcher brand is that in your vice? Anyone know?
will the engine need an ecu?
Would this run on a 150 cc. Not for racing but for my village to get aeound during monsoon season
