*The open air live concert of Tangerine Dream at the amphitheatre Augusta Raurica in Switzerland.*
*Was one of the first concerts TD performed after the death of Edgar Froese, head and founder of TD.*
*The beautiful sight surrounded by an ancient Roman village, the fantastic ancient amphitheatre created a very special atmosphere for the magic music.*
*Thorsten Quaeschning, Ulrich Schnauss and Hoshiko Yamane performed a great collection of classic TD tracks that night.*
*Enjoy a contemporay document of Tangerine Dream's musical output. In commemoration of Edgar.*

I've heard people say so many times that Electronic Music has no soul, and then you realize how wrong they are when you close your eyes and just listen to this. Here's to another 50 years.

because they think electronic music is the mainstream things they have heard most of the times and they have a very small sample of the genre.Anything that is driven and orchestrated by a human being to serve art and his/her soul and not the popular demand for entertaining the masses to get drunk and dance for a short time and to have no idea they are listening, can be soulful.

Only Tangerine Deram could create that magic. No one other band that played electronic music could do it. Kraftwerk made their music sounds robotic and souless.

I cannot understand why some people have a problem with the violin. I think it layers distinctively and smoothly over the sequencing and keyboards. Many of the best moments were when it came in. They could let the leash off it a bit more and it wouldn't hurt (though it would be difficult to see that in something like Rubycon). There was a Canadian band called Brigand in the early 80s called Brigand that used a violin over moog synthesizers and mellotron (actually a more contemporary keyboard acting as a mellotron) and that also worked very well.

Vangelis always seemed to combine the organic instruments with synthetic sounds, to great effect..as with the piano in 'Chariots of Fire' and bits of the 'Blade Runner' soundtrack. Sax, too..

Tangerine Dream ist part of my life for a long, long Time. I have seen them in front of the Deutscher Reichstag in Berlin back then, on the Loreley and maybe some other concerts. Even as Edgar has changed his cosmic address some time ago I find the three musicians forming Tangerine Dream nowadays are really one of the best crews ever! It is unfortunate that Edgar did not live to enjoy more of the Quantum Years. But he did start this lineup on the right path and to my ears they are doing him proud, and true to the original direction of the band's music. Once things normalize in the future would love to see TD do a tour of the US.

I sometimes have to respond to a negative attitude towards the new TD line-up.
On the other hand, over 120 thousand views of the release only on this channel indicates
that TD is still in demand today. As for the USA tour, only demand creates supply.
And this means-you need to rock the theme and everything will be OK!
I hope you understand me. Forgive my poor English.

Thorsten Quaeschning restored and then managed to even TRANCE-send (sorry...) the glorious, sublime TD "Virgin years." TQ is the greatest thing to happen to TD since "Sorcerer."- They were blown off the rails with "Cyclone" (I mean, "Rising Runner Missed by Endless Sender?" And VOCALS--I think NOT. REALLY...) until he came along. How PROUD Edgar would be of his protegé!!! Such astounding talent...truly TD-worthy talent--and once more sans the damn "smooth jazz" saxophones and go-go dancers, to boot...(pardon the pun). #TheDreamLivesOn #IhaveATangerineDream

    Dolphin Dance...
I always liked "Dolphin Smile" better...it's a shame they didn't include it on the album.
Glad I got to see TD in their heyday.
With Johannes and then later with Bernhard Beibl.
    He was a good guitarist.
I saw Tangerine Dream for the last time in Napa, California on July 13, 2012.
Was hanging out at the backdoor when Edgar and his lovely wife walked up.
They were just wandering around downtown.
I said..."Good to see you...really looking forward to the show". "Bought my first TD record in 1975."
He thanked me and shook my hand...better than any photo.
He didn't look too healthy. Two and a half years later, Edgar took his last breath...
    He was born on D-Day, June 6, '44...died 20th of January 2015.
That's a great run...70 years. A pulmonary embolism took him...blood clot in the lungs.
I had a blood clot that traveled to my brain...did serious damage to my right side. They called mine a stroke.
Luckily my right side is coming back...but damn...walking and being active is out.
    Thank God I'm left handed.

@@bugazbeach Was at the Astoria in London in 2003. Was one of the lucky 1000 to get a copy of the Astoria CD5-single handnumbered and several other records not available at the time here. Great gig were I even witnessed a computer BSOD and reboot on Jeromes PC. Not sure, but it seemed he ran Win2000 or maybe XP.. The venue was in what seemed as a worn theatre that stank old beer, but other than that, it was great
The next time was in Royal Albert Hall on April 1st in 2010. I was a bit puzzled that the venue only seemed half-ful - there were lots of empty seats. Almost every second seat was empty, but the audience was spread out evenly so it appeared to be more or less full. The floorseats were of course filled up. This was the first time I heard Boat to China, and I just had to lean back, close my eyes and let my mind wandering. A most beautiful track, with Lindas sweetest saxophoneplaying to date. It almost felt like it was fondeling me. And Bernhard's spanish guitarplaying just added to the feel.. Even today when I listen to a liverendition of this track, It brings me back to that show...
And both of these shows was a surprise gift from my wife, flight, accommodations and premium seats..
The last time I saw them was at Rockefeller in Oslo Nov. 3rd 2019. Not the same as the others, but worth the experience.

Simplesmente Fantástico. Desde o final dos anos 80, que eu curto essa banda alemã. Fiquei muito triste com a morte do criador da banda, Edgar Froeser. Acredito que ele está em bom lugar. Tangerine Dream, Forever. Luis Henrique, São Luis-MA. Brasil.
